hey, im running my batocera on a hard drive so when i go to add the folder during installation i dont see a share folder. how can i go about finding? or what folder should i use?
Great informative videos. Only suggestion I would have has to do with volume. Your splash beginning is killer loud especially with headphones or ear buds compared to the volume of your speaking. Learning a lot and when to grab for the volume control lol
So i am able to see the \\batocera connected via ethernet on my computer. I am able to see the folders and rom folder, but when i try to select it in skraper its not there. Any idea what im doing wrong?
When using Skraper to get manuals, the gamelist.xml file is not updated with the location of the manuals. Skraper places a manuals folder in the media folder. There is no option to view the manual using this method. When using the internal scraper, the manuals are placed in a manuals folder that is in the rom folder and the manual is viewable.
Same problem here with Skraper 1.1.1. If you have other type of media like wheel, fanart or manual; it doesn’t link them to gamelist.xml after scraping and they are not shown in batocera. ARRM has horrible ui but gets the job done at least.
Great work! I have select a theme with a video for each system (named as the roms folder). But now i want to add a video for Last Played, 2 Players, 4 Players. How should we name the file.mp4 for a colection? Thanks
Nice video. I always use the PC version of skraper over the built in same version within Batocera cause it has more options and settings. Never used that Arm one though, will have to check that one out.
i dont know why, i try 10 times to scrap my PS2 games but..... no effekt , the scrapper is running and show that is all complete but if i open batocera on my mini pc no images will show nothing......the scraper on the batocera system itself is running too but no images oder names

I'm loving your working! I'm using symlinks to another harddrive, but i cant see those roms in that harddrive in smb share folder on a windows machine. Is there a way to see the symlinks or the extra hard drive?
I'm not too clear about SMB yet. I haven't tested it out yet. But to add another hard drive, have you tried this: ua-cam.com/video/aYKD9TQjHYM/v-deo.html
Yes have tried and have the games running on another hard drive, thats great. However now i want to scrape it with ARRM and I can only scrape the share folder from batocera main drive. I could copy the roms to main batocera drive and them scrape it but it will be a pain because i have a small SSD (128 GB) as main and 500 GB hard drive as extra storage.
I have sign up to Skraper and even been supporting them on Patreon for 1 dollar a month. But recently I've had no luck getting it to work, because every time I sign in to the software, it says: "Authentication failed 1 thread". I don't know if this is a problem on their end or if I've mucked things up from reformatting the computer, but I really hope it gets resolved soon, so I can actually scrape my current library without interference!
@@BatoceraNation Yesterday it worked alright for a little while, but I still couldn't sign in. I would try to get help from Discord, but I'm locked out of my Discord account because I lost my authenticator and there's no other way to get back in!
I had a similar problem. I found if I logged into Screenscraper first (and stayed logged in) and then ran the Skraper programme I had no problem with authentication. Odd.
The video is already 10 months old, is it still better to use this software for scraping than using the built-in scraping mode of Batocera? Or is the built-in batocera scraping much better now after 10 months?
The scraping mode in Batocera has gotten better since there is now a new scraping database. However the standalone apps are still useful to catch what the built-in scrapers don't catch.
@@BatoceraNation Thanks a lot for the info, I think I will use the software then, so I can see how it looks like on the system with the preview pictures.
Great video! Thanks! But... Well that just doesnt worked at all for me. All the files downloaded has no option to add a suffixes as the batocera read it and cant change format to jpg. (game-name-image.jpg, game-name-thumb.jpg) I´m using the batocera linux version.
This is awesome! I just discovered Batocera and am having a blast setting it all up! I'm curious... is there a similar way to scrape with EmuMovies? Oh... edit to add: Your videos are a treasure trove of information! Keep the content coming!
@@highsourceoffiner7480 I believe the external hard drive is messing things up. The app was designed with the assumption that it would be reading the rom files from the internal Batocera drive using a network connection. If your games are stored on an external hard drive and playing it from there, why not copy the image data and video data into the rom folder of the external hard drive. Then open gamelist file from the internal Batocera rom folder and see how the games are being pointed to your external hard drive and use the same file directory structure to point your images and videos in the same manner on your gamelist.xml file from the one the app created. You might even do a search and replace with the correct folder directory. Then copy that edited and saved file back into Batocera's rom folder replacing the one stored there. Make backup copies of the gamelist.xml file from the one the app created.
I’m having an issue where I use the scraper tool but some reason I’m putting in the wrong area so I have to copy the XML file and it keeps on changing every time I copy and paste it and open up Batocera Not sure spent over 6 hours trying to do this Still haven’t figured it out. The images and videos are not even showing up
When you copy the scraped gamelist.xml file back into Batocera, does it ask you to overwrite your original file? It should. Oh, it might be that it is scraping the location of your hard drive (D drive or E drive, etc). Open your gamelist.xml file with Notepad and look where it is pointing your videos and images to. If it is pointing to your external hard drive, you need to replace it to your local hard drive in Batocera.

It did not work very well for Naomi on my system, only found maybe about half the games and only seemed to scrape videos, no box art. The Built in Scrapper di a much better job, scrapped all the games but only seemed to do the videos but at least it got all the games.
For Naomi and other arcade systems try selecting 2D boxart that way you will get arcade posters or the promo poster art style. Since technically there is no real game box art cause these are arcade systems.

Arrm is a little hard in the beginning but worth it. You can customize everything or automate IT. EG: create m3u and hide the chd files. 🤗

Nice.
But the hiding and adding of file extensions for scraping you can do that with skraper as welll.. individually for each system.

So how long does it take screenscraper to upgrade you after you donate and where do you tell them your ID ?
On the website and on Batocera when you choose screenscraper as your scraper. Found by pressing the Start button on your gamepad.
How do you get more than one work engine?
With the built in scraper, when you register and become a sponsor or supporter, you get more than 1 work engine in your account.

media folder in each console/system folder where roms are stored.
