So I installed BAT 34 on an old laptop PC, everything works good, but for some reason the intro splash screen plays on the laptop screen and not out to HDMI to my TV. Once the splash screen finishes, everything goes to the TV without a problem. Any ideas?
Easier to do from v33 now. No need to edit any cfg file. Just put your vid in the splash folder, goto system settings/splash setting and select default video user set splash. Or if you want your video but silent select silent video user set splash. And select Batocera splash image if you wanna use Batocera image only no video. If you wanna use Batocera default splash video again you would have to delete your vid in the splash folder I presume.

My boot video in Batocera is always very slow, sometimes it even stucks and you cannot boot (custom as standard video). I‘ve heard it has something to do with 4K TVs (I have one). Is there a solution to play it normal?
Is it just me or is the video blank from about 16:28 to 17:38? Also, I usually use a program called diskgenius to access hidden partitons/files. However on this occassion I dont think its possible to do whats needed for the splash video tutorial. Also cant seem to locate other files with it, like certain cfg files and retroarch cores 🤔 Anyway, guess Ill have to do this one over network.. 🙄

But when it came to saving via using terminal it was hard to see what you typed in even on my TV cause of the resolution. So I typed in batocera save overlay only to find out on google its batocera-save-overlay. New to that so. Btw, I chose the video Batocera Wave Retro 01. Incase you were wondering.

Im having a problem, i run raspberry pi 4, v31 beta Batocera, in the config it says nothing about splashscreen, but there is a intro video in the folders, so i copied a another video replacing that video and saved with command in your video, but the original intro video is still loading? It says in the folder that the video file i copy in mp4 will be copied to boot/splash but it dont Even when i save with command. Yes its v31 but there is video intro and splash folders so it should work?

@@BatoceraNation thank you for answering. I'm using an .PNG picture and it appears for just a second on the screen after that the splash picture from the image owner appears also with a progress bar. I already setup the config file for the picture to stay longer but it doesn't work either.

Can this all be done on a single PC running batocera on an internal hard drive as well as the windows instal on another internal hard drive or are two separate PC's required I am confused
When you create a bootable Batocera image on a SSD, thumb drive, or hard drive, your PC will bypass Windows and load up Batocera instead. When you remove your Bstocera drive from you PC at the next boot, Windows will automatically load.

Hi I love your video thank you so much for showing us so much. What hardware would you actually recommend for Batocera. At the moment I have an old Dell PC Optiplex 9010 to test. Is the hardware sufficient for most emulators or should I get an RP4 or Odroid.
Tell me the specs of your PC including the Intel chip it uses. Emulation will 90% of the times work better on a PC instead of the other gadgets out there.

@@lavedavis3968 It might be that your SSD is loading everything really fast. So, turn to that special file that I mentioned in the video and manually turn it on. That should do the trick.

FYI: Rules have changed. All you have to do now is to download the video(s) and dump them into the share/splash folder - that's all !!

Try renaming the new splash video with the same file name as the original splash video.

Isn't there an option in 31 and 32 to set the boot splash to on silent or no splash? I know for sure there is in 32 because I set it to No Splash.
In Ver 32 yes, but not in Ver 31. You would have to go to the batocera.config file that I discussed in the video and turn it off from there.

Some systems bios let you change it from Legacy to the other one or vice-versa. Look for it. If none exists, then there's nothing that we can do.

Did you check that file that I mentioned in the video? Check to see if there's a setting for something that says resolution and set it to 1080P.

@@BatoceraNation Mini PC GK3V Intel J4125 commonly used in batocera builds. got this because I saw someone else on YT with the same mini pc.
It is a slower chip and trying to play a video in 4K while trying to load everything up at the same time may be too much for the chip.
