This is one of the more honest info videoes about RF and ultra sound , touching the essential info about side effects - thank you
Thank you for your kind words.
Cant wait until you do a thorough comparison on the different types of devices, currents, etc.. When you are ready, we will dive in. You're awesome!
That would be a heavy task to do, there are so many out there with minimal differences.
Perfect thorough review! Thanks for your time investment!
You are welcome.
the best information that I found in youtube (spanish and english ).. thank you so much for your time in the investigation...
Thank you, that is very kind of you.
Great and thorough description of radiofrequency
Thank you
I'm very curious about the Age-R Ussera Deep Shot and will keep an eye out for your review!!!
I am already on it, but want to give it enough time to be able to try judge the results.
I was waiting this video , thanks!
I hope it didn't disappoint.
Great video, exhaustive and factual and I’m absolutely clueless as to whether I get RF device or not. Still afraid of fat loss, incidental burn but the piece about getting older and hence benefiting less has captivated my attention. I’m 47 so maybe it’s a good idea I give whatever collagen I’m left with a chance to do better… Thank you, Dr Ann!
For reference, I am 44 and when you look at my radiofrequency review, you can see a difference that is even more noticeable in person. Friends have asked me in real life what I had changed because my skin would be looking so good and my pores so small. I admit I don't always see that when I look in the mirror, but usually they don't comment on that.
Loved the style of video just clear information, could you make a video about : ultrasound i.e Sofwave and EMS, ive seen a lot of discussion around EMS home devices some popular skin influencers are saying the aggressive twitching it causes its bad in the long term for your skin
I will put it on my topic list.
looking forward to your review of the ussera medicube deep shot!
Have you tried it yourself?
I can't thank you enough for giving sound criteria on the efficacy of RF devices. It turns out I'm not an optimal candidate, and I will retire my home device!
I am glad this video helped you come t a decision. Which device were you using?
I’ve used a radio frequency device just about 3 to 4 times on my legs and I have seen a big difference. I am 62 and in pretty good shape. Overall I bought the Mlay
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks, crédible review of RF is very helpful!
You are welcome.
Very helpful video. I have a RF device, which I thankfully got on sale. I used it consistently for a year. Honestly I didn't see much if any improvement. I do like my red light panel and micro current device, though!
Which brands do you use?
Which brands? Thanks in advance.
Hi Dr Anne, thank you so much for your informative and insightful videos as always. I was really interested in RF at one point to prevent the early signs of aging, so I bought a TriPollar Stop Vx device. I did not notice much skin tightening to be honest but I also don't have much sagging skin yet (I'm 28 years old). It was definitely not bad for my skin in any way though, which is more important maybe. I did enjoy having that 'spa moment' to treat myself and take care of my skin. I'm not sure if there is any benefit in RF at this point in my life yet. Do you think it could be usefult to prevent/delay the visible signs or early onset of aging skin?
I think it could work on the signs of aging that you don't yet see, yes, but I wouldn't advise spending the money at that point probably. If you already have it though, I'd use it.
is frequency 1MHz professional strength? I am an esthetician currently doing a research to buy a RF device or machine to use. thanks.
Great video. What are your thoughts on Microneedling ?
I think it is great, but I wouldn't do it at home - I will film a video on it eventually.
I remember getting my first treatment because of a scar when I was about 21. Even through it is not normally used in youngsters the dermatologist I went to decided to try some RF skin tightening for my scar. The treatments were 10 minutes long as the scar area is small and the doctor didn't need to treat the whole face. I find these treatments relaxing and pleasant and although I was told to immediatelly let her know if the heat becomes uncomfortable I never had this issue. I had a break for a few years because of personal problems but I will resume it. I like that I can go back to my activities immediately with no downtime except getting some 50 SPF sunscreen before leaving the office. I do recommand this treatment! No disconfort, safe, pleasant, effective!
Thank you for sharing your experience.
@@DoctorAnne You're welcome!
thank you very informative
I am glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for well informed video.… What I'm hearing is - even though better to keep it on low frequencies to not lose fat, that may still not ensure some fat loss. ? Thanks
The risk is there with every device, but should be minimal for at home ones. It depends on your individual face and the temperature reached in the tissue though, and the devices I know don't measure the temperature deep in the tissue, only some the one on the surface. If you want more certainty, having it done by a professional is probably a good idea.
Thank you cause just about to buy one for the home not knowing how use one. Thank you so much I will not now buy one 😊
I am glad you found it helpful.
That's a very thorough and straight to the point video, thank you. I was wondering if it could be beneficial for genetic eye bags : I'm in my mid 30s and I notice my under eye bags are getting increasingly noticeable. My understanding is that RF could both be beneficial in terms of fat loss in that area and tightening the skin. However I know the skin in that area is sensitive and fine so I'm not looking to wreck it either. What are your thoughts?
I personally would not experiment around my eye area and would talk to a professional to see what they recommend after examining the area you perceive as being problematic.
Thank you @Doctor Anne
@@jumpingbee4717 You are welcome.
I have the exact same issue. I am 33 with genetic under eye fat bags. Im a black female and have zero wrinkles or finelines. The bags depress me. I cant afford surgery so idk what to do
I've started treatment on my face. I'm 38, naturally fairly slim but was noticing face sagging especially around my jaw, jowls area, felt like my face was dragging downwards. After my first treatment I noticed an instant lift. After second treatment I feel I have a jaw line which I've never had. I'm also doing uplift face massages at home daily. I still have 4 more treatments to go, will have the next one in 2 weeks and then space the other 3 out with 3 weeks between. This is the first time I've ever noticed instant satisfying results with any treatment. I didn't know it can cause fat loss so will be checking with the therapist if she is safe doing it on my cheeks as I don't want to loose fat there. If you're young and only just starting to notice the changes to your jaw line I personally would recommend but that's just off of how it worked for me. Before having this done I was tempted to get filler in my chin to even out my jaw so I didn't look like I had jowls as that's what a Dr had instructed me to do along with the nuera tightening but I decided I wasn't ready for filler and just wanted to try the tightening and I'm 100% satisfied after only 3 weeks. Looking forward to the full effect in few months. Sorry long revise but hope this helps someone x
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, that is really helpful.
Guten Tag, Dr. Anne! (Sorry that my German, unlike my French or even Italian, nearly ends there.)
Thanks for this. I’m quite concerned about mid or upper face fat loss since fat heats 7x faster and the studies talked about 46 d 3+ minutes, which could melt fat cells, right? Great along jawline or in the torso, not great above the mouth!
I was unimpressed with poly-l-lactic acid. Perhaps not enough? Perhaps autoimmune issues? My neurologist is considering rituximab, which I know could blunt the healing response if 90% of B cells are gone, but currently, we’re just doing plasmapheresis.
In terms of not wasting pecuniary resources, what would you recommend for premature volume loss and sagging due to IgM and IgG autoimmunity and andrological endocrine disruption, please? (For the latter, my PCP did hCG and was on the fence about the possible need for very low-dose Anastrozole.)
Danke schön for your advice! :-) I could discuss it with them.
First of all, thank you for the German greeting, I really appreciate the effort!
I personally didn't notice any changes in fat loss even with more than six months of using it, but that is of course only my personal experience. Fir drastic volume loss the only thing actually effective enough to give results is probably fillers or something like that.
Hello, can you tell me if the at home RF devices like the Newa can be used on my complexion for fine wrinkles?
I can only see your profile picture, so it is hard for me to make a qualified comment on that. It doesn't solely depend on the skins color, but also on your individual disposition when it comes to hyperpigmentation. In general it is possible to be used on darker skin, as it doesn't interfere with melanin like LED would, but it generates heat and could, in theory, trigger pigmentation in those very sensitive to that.
Hi Dr Anne, could you make a video about high frequency devices please?
Do you have a specific one in mind?
The tiny home use with led colors
Hi Dr Anne I’ve been watching your videos about RF and LED mask, I’m planning to buy an RF machine but I have a dental implant on my lower jaw both sides, do you think there will be a reaction?
I can't say, as that is very individual. I have a dental implant on one side and never experienced any issues personally, but that doesn't mean it won't happen for you. Most devices have a good return policy though.
Hi, could you please make a video explainin the different effects using different range of Mhz? I can see devices from 1Mhz to 5 Mhz and I don’t know what is better or eventually what do what. Thank you
I think that would be difficult, but I'll try.
Can you recommend any brand device for the body? My plastic surgeon in Colombia recommended I do radio frequency, but there are so many different machines. I don’t know which one is good.
I am sorry, I can't as I haven't tried any myself.
Do a comparison post on led vs microcurrent vs radio frequency
I will once I finished trialling all the different devices for long enough - I want to be able to judge them fairly.
@@DoctorAnne Can't wait :-)
These are all different modalities that address different issues. To compare them would be like comparing apples, to oranges to lemons.
I guess the treatment is so relaxing and comfortable that many patients can even fall asleep!
If I had someone to do it on me, I could imagine that happening.
@@DoctorAnne I know this treatment doesn't need local anesthesia and the patient can tell the dermatologist when the heat is uncomfortable but if the patient falls asleep because the treatment is very relaxing, is there a risk of burning since they are unable to tell when they feel too hot?
@@Florentina-ox9xq Not with an experienced practitioner. And believe me, if it was hot enough to burn your skin, it would wake you up quickly.
@@DoctorAnneYou make a valid point. It's just that especially by the second session the warmth sensation is so relaxing that if the treatment lasted longer I would have fallen asleep! :)
@@Florentina-ox9xq Added selfcare I would say!
Wow ! You talked me out of getting a machine . What is the best modality for tightening skin ? What modalities can be used around the eyes to tighten eyelids and mild eye bags ?
The best advice I can offer is to see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon specializing in these kind of treatments and get their opinion.
hello doctor Anne i did Sylfirm X microneedling RF 4 days ago for my acne scar open porse and under eyes puffiness for inter of my face i am 30 and i habe some fat loss in my cheeks so does it make more fat loss i am very concerned now
could u advise me
should i do again or not ?
There is a possibility that fat loss might occur. It is very low in at home devices as they are weaker, but it isn't impossible, so you need to decide if the possible benefits might outweight this risk for you personally.
Is radio frequency better than ultrasound? Or are they the same? Thank you
They are not the same, but you can't say one is better than the other - it depends on what you want to achieve and the way it is delivered.
But to be honest, in devices for at home use the difference is probably minimal.
Hi Dr. Anne, thank you so much for your video, I have a Tripollar device and I'm considering picking it up and trying to use it consistently but I'm currently on prescription tretinoin (just for regular skincare, not for severe acne) and I'm wondering if the rf device can be used together with tretinoin ?
Yes, it can, but you should pay close atention to how your skin feels. Especially when introducing strong retinoids it can be irritated, so then things that normally aren't an issue could feel irritating.
But I use Tretinoin for my acne and use my RF device regularly without issues.
@@DoctorAnne Thank you so much! ❤
@@yimiz Let me know how it works for you. I have been meaning to try the Tripollar device too.
Could you tell me the name of the device?
@@DoctorAnne Sure! I have been using tretinoin 0.05 every other day and the tripollar 2 times per week (maybe not frequent enough) since my last comment, I have been having peeling a few times, but no other irritations so I will continue. Haven't seen any results yet. From my understanding tretinoin result will only come after 3 month? plus I don't have severe acne so I'm not expecting to see significant results soon. As for tripollar I really can't tell, I had used it on and off before and could not see result with my bare eyes. I guess I never used it frequently and consistently enough, or maybe the effect of home device will just be subtle. the model I have is the Stop V, I think it is an older model, it has two levels of intensity, I usually use the higher level.
The Ussera is high frequency and ultrasound though. Isn’t this different from radio frequency?
Yes, it is in a way, but the mechanism (heating up the tissue) and the general effects are the same.
I have bulging fat under my eyes. I've seen a Dr about having Blepharoplasty surgery. I can't afford at this time. I'm 69 years old. Would RF be an alternative to surgery? I've read that surgery is the only option for this condition. Would be interested in your opinion on this. Thanks.
I can't give you a qualified opinion as I haven't seen you in person, but while RF can be used in office to achieve fat loss and skin tightening, it will most likely not be used around the eye at that intensity. At home devices will not cause fatness anyway, so generally speaking I'd agree that surgery or acceptance are your options.
Is this safe for prediabetic with elevated A1c?
Yes. Diabetes refers to the later stages when as side effect your skin sensibility to temperature or pressure triggers aren't like they should be anymore, so you don't realize how hot your skin gets and are more likely to be burned.
Love a critical review, makes me trust your input
I am glad you enjoyed it.
Can we say that losing facial fat is more associated with people who diet while using Radio Frequency 🤔!!?️
How long does it take for fat cells to cool and freeze again? Can stopping the diet during radio frequency protect us from losing facial fat??
I'd say that the diet has mch more effect on your facial fat than a at home radiofrequency device.
I have a 3 in 1 RF Cavitation machine 40k consists of: cavitation, tripolar and multipolar heads. I can attest it is really effective and loving it! At first i was hesitant to use it cause i dont see any reviews or maybe just a few but after trying it i noticed that my face fat has been reduced. Downside is, since i was experimenting so i do more the right side of my face and saw a big difference. My right side cheek has reduced so much fat compared on my left side cheeks. So now i am trying to make sure i do the left side more so that it is balance. Hahahah.. but this machine works miracle. Also in my tummy, after the first and second session i noticed a difference in my waist line. Not sure maybe they absorb the water in my tummy? But i lose like 1-2 inches in the first session. I’m gonna do this every day.. i know it’s not recommended and usually must be 2-3 times a week but i want to lose fat as much as possible. I just reduced the time to 15 minutes each area..
While I applaud you on getting such good results, I would still recommend sticking to the recommended time of usage. I don't think using it more often will speed up the process by much, just increase the risk of side effects.
Could you tell me the name of the device?
Hello!, can you please tell the name your device?
I see radio frequency devices offering a 3mhz and 5mhz, respectively. I'm not sure which to purchase. :(
Is 3mhz better than 5mhz? :)
Roughly speaking, the higher the signal, the more power/ deeper penetration it has. If that is better or worse depends on the area you want to use it at and the goal you want to use it for.

hello, I'm 32 years old, can I use RF please?
You can, the question is if you need to.
This is probably the most medically accurate video. I believe what you state is true. RF and other treatments are not going to help people who have too much fat or skin. I do RF and it really doesn’t do anything . I also do micro current which does nothing but massage my face. The effects are so minimal.
It is supposed to be preventative, so that makes it a lot harder to judge the effects.

In radio frequency is a higher khz better? For example an 80khz machine vs 400khz machine which is better?
Better always depends on what you want to achieve. The question is better for what?
@@DoctorAnne tightening & boosted collagen in the treated areas, possibly fat melting too
@@satrngirl The amount of khz influences the depth of penetration, so it depends on the area you want to target.
@@DoctorAnne does higher khz=deeper penetration?
@@satrngirl No. If you look at ultrasound (another wave form used to give you images), the lower kHz will get deeper, but offer less details, why higher frequencies carry more information, but don't go as deep.
I'm totally confused. I thought HIFU caused fat loss and thus radiofrequency is preferred instead; but now I don't know what to think.
If something causes fat loss or not depends on different factors like area it is used and energy settings, so RF can cause fat loss, but doesn't have to. Does that help?

Yes, when used for the right indication and on the right patient.
Thanks for the video. I was not convinced because of the cost and the risk of fat loss but if you say that the results are subtle …
I’ll stick to my LED mask 😊
I would like to have your opinion on PRP because I saw a video of dr Rajani. He explains that it has an effect (bio stimulation) and no risk because based on your blood. Maybe that’s a better idea (Indeed to slow aging down - not stopping it - or give your skin a boost next to your routine with SPF)
I will add PRP to my list of topics to cover then, I need to look into it more to give you an opinion. I love my LED mask as well, it is so convenient to use!
@@DoctorAnne indeed a LED mask is super convenient. I’m using it in the morning when I’m half awake. Little question: currentbody says to use it 10 minutes but I see other people on YT using it 2x or 3x 10 minutes saying it gives you better results. Do you think it’s the case or would it be detrimental because too much of a good thing is not necessarily a good thing ?
On the other hand when you have a LED treatment in a cosmetic center the tools are more powerful thus you get more irradiation (but less frequently of course). Thus I don’t know… sometimes I use it 2x in a row, sometimes one time, and I’m not using it everyday (because … life … sometimes I have no time to do it).
Would love to see your opinion on PRP 😊
@@virginiemazy7054 I am using mine 10 minutes 3-5 times a week. You are probably still safe using it more frequently, but I prefer to err on the side of caution and stick to manufacturers instructions. Too much of a good thing can be a good thing indeed.

Chemotherapy means you have either infusions or take medication orally with the goal to kill of rapidly proliferating cells. This is heating up the superficial tissue on your face, so both of them are not even remotely related - I wouldn't worry about my fertility with this device.

@@wishbone103 Erectile Dysfunction as umbrella term has many causes, but I can't think of one that might be improved by using radiofrquency. As far as I know (not my area of expertise) it is often caused by problems in microcirculation through changes in the blood vessels and that is not affected by this. Again, you need to talk to an urologist to be sure, but I don't think it can be solved by more collagen as that is not what makes an erection firm or even possible.

@@DoctorAnne thankyou I will do that today
@@lindaconstantine1844 If you get an answer, would you mind sharing it here if someone has a similar question?
My client had facial fat transfer about a year ago. If she using at home RF/EMS machine. Will it cause her facial fat loss?
That depends on the machine and several other factors and should be discussed with the person that did the facial fat transfer.
So one question what will be the best one to use 😢?
There are too many devices out there for me to answer that question. I can only speak for the ones I have personally tried and give you tips on what is important.
After using nebulyft and newface rf i ended up getting lip line and marionette lines? Why? I don't think sun would caused it, I mostly worked on lower face .I think it burned the fat.
I can't say anything to that - it is unlikely to happen when using an at-home device as recommended, but of course not impossible. I don't know the Nebulyft, so I can't comment on the specific device either.
@DoctorAnne I used newa first half and nebulyft who knows what caused it it thought it was supposed to lift the face , I can't figure it out .I was out in the sun alot to not knowing how dangerous it was
@@KC-ft9hp I am really sorry to hear this happened to you.
I’m in my 30s and I’m considering buying a home device my skin looks good the only problem I’m facing is really textured forehead do you think it’s a good option to me considering that I already have an awesome result with botox but I’m not comfortable injecting toxins in my forehead every six months 😢
You mean textured as in wrinkles? I don’t think you‘ll get the same results you‘d get with Botox with a device like that, as the way they work is entirely different.
@@DoctorAnne I think I have little wrinkles or the skin is not tight enough in the forehead area Do you think it’s a good option for the long run
@@jayjayjay835 Usually sagging isn't much of a cnoncern on the forehead (exception is eyebrows/ top of the eyes, and I don't think it is the best for wrinkles. I use this one alsomst exclusively on the lower part of my face (which is what the website recommends). If you want to treat the forehead with a device, maybe microcurrent is a better option?
@@DoctorAnne thank you Dr Anne, I’m sorry for not making myself clear when it comes muscles in my forehead everything looks good I don’t have sagging my eyebrows looks good, it just the skin is not at its best shape (texturised skin little scars pros. Horizontal line ) would you recommend this device or microcurrent!!
@@jayjayjay835 To b honest: None of them for what you are describing. You are probably better of with a chemical exfoliant or maybe laser - which should be discussed with a practitioner abler to see your face.
