Greatest comedian ever produced by Ireland. I was a student in 70s in England and he was my most favourite comedian. I still watch him on utube and all my friends who were studying with me still exchange his old clips available on utube . He will be missed for as long as I live .love from pakistan ❤
He was a very thoughtful and caring person. One of my father's business associates was staying at the same hotel in the Cross in Sydney (Australia) in the 60's when Dave Allen was in town and my dad was fortunate enough to have lunch with them one day. My dad told Dave Allen about how his wife, Pamela, was crazy about him and he phoned her up a had a short chat with her. She's 96 now and says he even made her laugh on the phone; she was over the moon about it. He gave three autographed photos to my dad for his three children, which we cherished. That is an example of how he could make people laugh in any situation, but more importantly what a truly nice man he was. Very fondly remembered.
What a great story to share! Some shows where broadcasted even here in Germany. And I still recall it, after all these years. I count him as one greatest comedians, ever. A rare species. He never did hurt peopls feelings! (Except some christians, maybe) Great german comedians are Heinz Erhardt and Michael Mittermeier (fortuanetely still alive) , i.e.
When i was a kid growing up in Chicago my family of 11 kids and my parents watched Dave Allen at Large every Sunday night . It came on at 10 o clock pm and it was a great ending of a weekend with Dave. Off to bed after.
I spent some time in Dallas in 1981 there I saw Dave Allen at large and Benny Hill both uncensored on a public TV station. It was absolutely hilarious. Also there was a show call " up Pompeii " he liked Benny Hill was a comedic genius...
If you are going to talk about Dave Allen's cause of death, at least get it right! His death was caused by Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. Odd to use pictures of Maggie Smith, when talking about Allen's wife. He didn't suffer a stroke, nor was he confined to a wheelchair.
I loved Dave Allen, his ability to turn an everyday thing that we all do into something hilarious was brilliant. IE standing in a supermarket checkout line with 10 or less items. I had done the very thing that Dave talked about, quietly counting items in other people’s baskets. After watching that particular Dave Allen show I couldn’t go into the 10 items or less queue without smirking or biting the insides of my cheeks, trying not to laugh. R.I.P. Mr Allen, May your God be with you ……and thanks for the laughs
I am now unsubscribing as most of what you have said in this video is verging on slander, No. 1, Mr Allen was married to a lady called Judith Stott from 1964 to 1983 and they had a son and daughter. He married Karin Stark in 2003 and she gave birth to their son 3 weeks after her husband's death. No. 2 He did not have a stroke at any time and was never in a wheelchair. No. 3 He died peacefully in his sleep from a sudden cardiac arrest and not from pneumonia. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself for reporting such complete and utter rubbish.
How about saying "Dave Allen's autobiography" when it's clearly a BIOgraphy. Ah well. I hope it gets more people learning about Dave. He was brilliant.
I didn't know he passed away. Love his comedy. May his soul rest in peace. May his family members, friends, and relatives overcome the grief and sorrow. There will never be another Dave Allen.
What made Dave Allen famous was the fact he was always smoking a cigarette and drinking a whiskey and soda whilst giving his monologues, made you feel like you were sitting in a pub having a chat with him, but you just listened, he was unique, Im certain he would have considered both carr and boyle a pair of unfunny politically correct tossers.
Me and my late mother always used to watch him on our.local A B C channel every Friday night from 8.30 till 9.30. He always cheered us up with his great jokes and really funny sketches.
@@dinkohrvat344 Thanks, but still doesn't explain -Edward or Edwina, or why continuity of that information couldn't be fixed? A proofreader might help.
A quick look at Wikipedia cleared that up. Married to Judith Stott 1963 to 1983 & married to Karin Stark 2003 to 2005. Two children by first marriage and a son, Cullen, born 3 weeks after his death, which is sad.@@smorgasbroad1132
Watching this wasted 10 minutes of my life, which I shall never get back. Apart from the few incorrect facts, the rest of the information is widely known and this video adds nothing worth watching. Pity, because Dave Allen was a great comedian and human being.
He made a very funny joke about how he lost his finger he was in a bub and something about a bet he stayed in a haunted property when something crept up his chest and got closer and closer to his thought and he grabbed it and bit it and that's how he lost his thinger he made every one in the audience jump I think so funny

I thought she looked like Maggie smith !

Absolutely.
But this is UA-cam after all.
Probably put together by someone who wasn't even a twinkle in the Milkman's eye when Dave passed away.
How about saying "Dave Allen's autobiography" when it's clearly a BIOgraphy. Ah well. I hope it gets more people learning about Dave. He was brilliant.
DEFINITELY.
Except people are learning incorrect things here. This video is utter crap.
Please don't go! 😢At least his index finger was missing. 😊
I love Dave, he was hilarious😂😂❤️
I'll always remember the story he has about how he came to be missing part of his finger. RIP Dave, you still bring a smile to this face.
He was a true unique comedian. Just a brilliant man!!!
I didn't know he passed away. Love his comedy. May his soul rest in peace. May his family members, friends, and relatives overcome the grief and sorrow. There will never be another Dave Allen.
Dave Allen began dating Karin Stark in 1986, and married her in 2003. The couple had a son, Cullen, who was born three weeks after Allen's death

This is an insult to the great man. Whoever put this together should show some respect and get their facts right.
R.I.P Beautiful funniest man. Love you Dave ❤ Sadly missed ❤
😢. I enjoyed his show which we didn't get to watch to often here on Canada's west coast.
RIP Dave Allen, grew up watching his shows ,now were left with shite that dont even come close
Bless his memory 🙏❤️🙏
"He had 2 children: Edward & Jane."
"He left behind his wife and 3 children Jane, Edwina & Jonathan."
Which is correct???
one of the daughters was a step child or adopted and he left her out of his will completely . They had a very bad relationship

He married twice! Media, Ffs get your facts correct!
Most people who die leave families behind.
And 99pc are tragic.
I loved his jokes and his skits were hilarious.
Insightful, intelligent, funny, rebellious and good looking! What more could you want in a man?
I do hope that God has him in spite of his Catholic jokes.
get your information right, for starters he was not born dave allen ,
one of the best ever.......
Loved him
We love Dave too. May he find peace 🙏

Hats off to you 👏👏👏
My favorite is Dave's Practicing Atheist. 😊
A truly great comedian.
Catholic Religious humor was his best.. jokes was hilarious….! Aired on our local PBS STATION
I started watching him on Maryland/DC PBS when I visited in the summer. I started watching Monty Python as well.
I thought his career started in Australia 1963. He died of sudden death syndrome not pneumonia
Is there an "Autobiography" as what is shown is a "biography", written by someone else. As if one were available I would read it.
No, there isn't.
Like most of the 'information' in the video, it's bullsh*t!
WHERE'S THAT GOSHDARN MISSING FINGER ON ONE OF DAVE ALLEN'S HANDS??? ?
How about renaming this channel FakeFactsVerse?
1:01 that’s not DA
It looks more like Gay Byrne
The commentary is like three loops and could have been performed in a third of the time.
Please do some research! wrong on almost all points
A great comedian
Just great !!!!!

One of the pictures you show is an actor who played him in a bio. Cause of death wrong and his family were not working class
..’Facts’…this is FULL of inaccuracies!!
I have u every heard of doing research most of your facts are wrong the picture wasn't of his wife it was Helen mirren
What a lot of rubbish. Should be removed.
You would do better to feature your fellow Americans, who you know more about. You are less likely to get things wrong.
how was his family working class?
At 0:59 that photo is not Dave Allen, its the actor Aiden Gillen who portrayed Dave Allen in a film about his life.
❤total bollocks Dave allen was great
his wife Karen wasnt pictured in this video....
Dave Allen was the GOAT.
Wonderful obit. Thank you.
Incredibly inaccurate obit.
It's utter horsesh*t!
Look elsewhere for something a LOT more factual.
