I think Dave Allen just about gave Clive a facial tick in the interview :) Two amazing intellects sadly no longer with us but thankfully they live on through their work.
Clive James was about the best interviewer on TV. He was not full of himself, or his own opinion, and never let the interviewee struggle to get a word in edge-ways. He asked intelligent and respectful questions, always listened, and one learnt a lot about the person he interviewed. Few, and I repeat few, more so on today's media, are like him. Jonathon Ross and Richard Madeley could have learnt from this guy.
10:30 after Spitting Image, watching the The Clive James Show with all the European adverts and Endurance ( Japanese game show) It was the only thing that made thinking I had to go to school the next day worthwhile. Dave Allen was also awesome, as a kid, I thought he was the height of sophisticated comedy. As an adult, he’s just bloody funny

Dave Allen’s appearances on Saturday Night Clive were always funny. On another episode Clive showed a US made video about toilet training small children. Dave’s comments afterwards made me laugh out loud.

Dave Allen was just doing his act from start to finish , Learned nothing about him . I wouldn't call it an interview .
