The yellow tower to left of Melville lodges roundabout was a windmill, and was later converted into a Dovecot known in Scotland as a doocot to breed pigeons for food for the gentry in Melville House. I moved to the cottage opposite in 1980, my parents still live there.
Barry ma man you are welcome to stay in Scotland if that's what you like, as a hgv driver you would get a driving job with Ferguson of speak bridge they have loads of artics as you probably passed them on the road, love your patter mate always a laugh 👍🏴🏴

Just found this video and got back into trucks after two years off. I reckon we'd probably get on over a few pints in a pub as you're actually the Lancs equivlent of an old driver i used to know who was from Barnsley. Actually I left England in 2013, i took a cut on wages obviously but I don't miss driving down south anymore & I sometimes get paid to see decent scenery when i travel north. If i had a choice right now for an even quieter life i'd probably choose somewhere close to Inverness, its a great wee city for a drink, the only downside, you'll get stiffed on (highland) delivery charges for online shopping but overall I love it there. Another place I have a soft spot for is Dundee, can't explain why though.
When it comes to taking 45 minute breaks driving hgv's do you have to drive for the full 4hr 30minutes in one go or can you break it up. I'm trying to pass my class 1 so I need to learn these things.
I did 5 months at Millers yeah. I left about 8 weeks ago as the job wasn't for me. Far to much concrete to shite hole building sites for my liking thank you please.

The gas tanks were in every town and would slowly fill during low use times and summer for reserves in winter, keeping the price even all year. The government and privatisation has got rid slowly and pipe gas in direct from the EU with no reserves. Price now fluctuating with demand… a weakness by the short sighted imo.
I did a defensive driving course for work a good few years back, and your commentary sounds like maybe you have done as well. Think ahead, don't get involved in other drivers potential accidents and always remember the 2 second rule.

Used to hold gas but work started last week to turn them into the Eden project. Part of the same company that have the Eden project down south
