This, is a very inspiring performance, musician, and human. You see him struggle, to get the notes were they belong, but he keeps going. Every note is played with passion, sound and the biggest emotion he could bring. Outstanding! Rest in Peace Mr. Anthony.

I had the privilege of playing with Ryan back when he was in high school. My wife played piano for him when he won the national trumpet competition. I played with him in the orchestra at Skyline Wesleyan Church in Spring Valley Ca. He was an amazing trumpet player back then. We both had the same trumpet teacher before he went on to play for the Canadian Brass. Rest in peace my friend.
That has to be the bravest thing I have every seen a musician do. I saw Mr. Anthony in his prime and his recital then was near-perfect. I’ll take this less-than-perfect performance every time. What an inspiration.

Followed this great trumpeter after seeing him in France with Canadian brass in 2003. Very sad to hear of his passing after an incredible fight against cancer. As an ex trumpeter in the Band of the Scots Guards I can only say his playing was up there with the best I have ever heard. His personal story is one to admire and his love for music is just awe inspiring. May god bless him and his beloved family.

His Determination throughout his fight gave the impression of Superhuman Abilities. Ryan indeed had Superhuman Abilities proven by the length of his battle, and his Great Accomplishments throughout his Fight. Ryan's shear Perseverance was an Inspiration for All. Ryan Anthony's Story and Music will continue to Inspire for decades and on.

As many pointed out, just over a year after this recording, he passed after almost eight-years battling terminal cancer. It's really a testament to his discipline and passion to play on, despite it exacerbating the pain caused by myeloma. To be able to walk out on stage feeling miserable and give any kind of performance is nothing less than incredible and shows the power music has to move not just the listener, but the player too.
