- 14th. Ave. bet.60 St.- 67 St. was part of an Italian enclave steeped in Mafia activity since the late 1800's through the 1920s until the 2000's. Both Colombo & Gambino borgatas had clubs and business in this area. A few gangsters grew up in this area and were also killed in the vicinity. another @REAL_MOB_LCN_ON_LOCATION
Wow, I didn't expect the area to be so run down. It's a shame. Thank you for taking the time to record this video for us mob enthusiasts!
You were up the block from The original L’amours…. Which then became the dance club Enigma… L’amours East was located in Queens… also that New Utrecht Ave station is where they filmed the scene in the Warriors.. when they blew up the car and ran from the Orphans, to the train station...
Woow, part of my cruisin path to 86 the street
I would love to see more videos and historical videos like this!
I absolutely LOVE listening to your voice !
Great stuff. Thanks for posting this walk thru the 14th Ave neighborhood. Doesn’t the feast of Santa Rosalia that is currently held on 18th Ave every summer trace its beginnings to the church grounds of the old Santa RosaIia parish on 14th Ave way back in the day before it was moved?
Yes it does. It just ended about 2 weeks ago. Though the church was demolished within the last decade.
Why would anyone want to live there? It looks so depressing. I lived in the Brookly in the early 60's. Thank God we moved to suburban NJ. I am glad I left NJ in 1990 and moved to Florida to get out of the Democrat run cesspool.
