We worked with Seidel tanning in Wisconsin to develop this boot leather, which started off as watch strap leather. Seidel made modifications to the temper, finish and especially the thickness, to bring this rugged leather into our boots.
We basically attempted to make the most rugged, thickest leather we could while maintaining over-the-top suppleness. Attempted and succeeded.

Great timing on this video. I've been considering picking up a pair of 8875s or 875s. Russet vs. Legacy. Can't decide! But I really appreciate seeing your pair. That Russet is pretty great!
I really like size D on RW Mocs as opposed to the clown shoe look of size E. The silhouette is way more elegant. Feels more like a tennis shoe, and the leather molds to all of my feet as opposed to only parts of them.
I picked up the dark coyote rough out plain toe for the sale, and the tongue on those is the tan grizzly. Man, that is a seriously beefy tongue, but very soft and pliable.
Yes sir, extremely soft and supple, those dark coyotes have a very comfortable leather as well, I have the cap toe ones.

Hey, good choice. I've had my British Tan Grizzlies in plain toe for a while now. I really like them, excellent boots overall and you're spot on about the thickness. I'm almost to the point of conditioning them for the first time. Will probably go with Bick 4, want to keep that British Tan caramelly goodness in tact. :) Best of luck to you Sir.
That Grizzly leather looks really good but I have too many boots in that color, or close to it, already so my decision was between Oxblood Double Shot, Oiled Black Roughout or Coach Rambler. The more I thought about it I figured I would rather try Stone Rambler or Black Reverse Chamois which were both sold out so I went with Oxblood DS during the sale. My pair arrived in the mail today. Wearing them now and trying to decide if 10EE was the right decision. The majority of the sizing advice on Reddit was to go true to size and a lot of people seem to find their D width a little tight.
In my opinion / experience they’re not true to size
They tend to be to flat in the toe box.
I got a size 10 D the first time and they were just too tight/ flat.
My second pair was 10 EE
They were to lose at the heel because the whole boots is wider, and then I got a pair 10.5 D that’s definitely my size
My 3 pairs are 10.5.
If yours gives you heel slip that means you got wrong size.

I have 2 pair of Truman boots- Cognac Shrunken Bison, plain toe and Black Shrunken Bison moc toe. They are very nice boots.

Wow, beautiful boots. You really got some pretty awesome boots there. I have two pairs of Trumans, they have a good balance between weight and leather thickness. PNW boots like Nicks and Drews are great boots but a little too heavy for me to wear regularly. Trumans got the formular right, at least for me.

Those commando soles are really beefy and give they a really aggressive look. Don't get me wrong I love my brown double shots with the Eugene sole and I'd really like another pair but I couldn't take advantage of the sale (maybe next year!).

Dam I forgot to look at Trumans website. I really like the coach rambler instead I bought a pair of Nicks mic toe wedge sole for work and Tecovas sued Chelsea wedge sole so 2 boots 😂

I own many Truman’s……you won’t be disappointed….any criticism is always the little details….like they use foam….the eyelets are tight 😅…but no one said they fell apart on me….tanks on your feet.

@@MrLOKIISHEREI think you're a bit behind on the news. Only the older version with stitchdown construction uses foam filler. The new version with GYW construction has already switched to cork filler. Here's what Truman wrote on The Knows Bros UA-cam channel:
'Thanks for the review! On the cork/foam debate: We switched from stitchdown to Goodyear several years back. Most stitchdown manufacturers use foam to stop squeaking between the leather insole and midsole, as there is no real “void” in stitchdown for cork. We hadn’t switched over until recently because, when we resoled other brands, we noticed that cork could dry out, granulate, and create high and low spots. It took us some time to run tests on cork to ensure we wouldn’t encounter this issue. We have now exclusively switched to cork. That said, high-density foam is nothing to be ashamed of; it does an amazing job of holding up and keeping that void filled without shifting.'

Aaron, I love your channel and your work, but I have a question. I know that you want to improve your work but, how thick is thick enough when it comes to leather? Some people like soft, supple leather and others like stiff leather. And at the end of the day, for that matter, how good is good enough when it comes to boots. I mean, for your own purposes as someone who is wearing them?

Well,any decent pair of boots must be at least 2 -2.4 mm 4/5 5/6 oz thick, that’s the average, it doesn’t matter if it’s supple or stiff
Boots are usually made using medium tempered leather
Anything thinner than that won’t provide any good support for your feet.
I’m talking about this type of boots, not all boots.
it all depends on what people need their Boots for
Some companies such as Nicks,Wesco,Truman, White’s and a few others use thicker leather.
