The Recording of Todd Rundgren and The Metropole Orchestra Amsterdam will go down is history of some of the Best work done in collaboration together.! This music will stand the test of time as all Todd Rundgren music does... Thank you for sharing cfrey1228 !
A wonderful collection of Todd's gift of lyric and song equalled by the talent and discpline of all the musicians, conductor and arranger...... ......top shelf....... .........kudos for including this in its entirety on youtube.......
More amazing every time I listen. Knowing he wasn't feeling 100 percent vocally but still put it all out there for everything. Brilliant moments. The orchestrations shed new light on his classics. I keep catching little glimpses.. his attention to orchestra soloists.. classy little gestures. Can't stop listening to Pretending to Care. Genius. Pure Genius.
We've been embracing Todd Rundgren for decades. I just noticed that your comment was from 8 years ago. Todd has been on a huge scale here in America for a long long time. What do you mean by embraced? I might add what you mean by a bigger scale?
Ive seen many Todd shows. One of the best parts was that it was always fresh and on the edge, from the T.R.I. shows, to the smooth Nearly Human shows, of course RA, the first Utopia tour in Quadrophonic sound, I could go on and on as could you. This is no disappointment either, his voice is "on" tonite.
Todd, you know I love you like a brother, but that is the weirdest setlist I've ever seen. Although it's amazing how the orchestra adds such credence to such oddities as Smell of Money, Flamingo and Onomatopoeia. Dutch people rock! Thanks for posting this! I can't believe this only has 3189 views so far.
If you have not seen the 2012 show at the Paradiso, look for it here on YT. (He's wearing a red jacket.) And because he's in full voice (not ill, as here), it's plain =boggling=.
Is this a different show than the one on the STATE bonus disc? It starts off with an awesome version of 'Another Life' and you can hear the audience applauding as Todd walks on stage, I'm assuming.
Man, they let the crowd be right there at end of stage. They don't do that in America, too many whacked fans would try to climb up there. This was a very nice show, songs just flowed one after the other.
Exactly! That is why Todd will be performing in Cincinnati Ohio on the same night as the RRHOF Induction Ceremony. I'll be there with Todd. I heard that he may decide to Skype with the RRHOF during the ceremony from the concert! I'm so hoping he will!
I will love this man's music forever. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
An amazing concert...God Said played with the orchestra simply blows me away....

You're so right about that Clayton!
Great! I'm a huge fan of Todds work (something anything!!, Meatloaf). Now with the amazing Metropole Orchestra. Bless them.

Just caught the State show in Cincinnati.
I never cease to be amazed by any direction he takes in his career.

Why haven't we embraced this man's talent on a bigger scale here in America?
It's bigger than you think!

Todd for god. Thanks for All the love and devotion. It helps us find direction .
A Wizard....a true star!
The high note in Pretending To Care (24:04) is just as heartbreaking as when I heard it on A Capella. The best tear-jerker Todd ever wrote.
I agree. Such a bittersweet beautifully written song.
I cry each time I hear this... without fail. It's perfect..

We Gotta Get You A Woman 48:43
Can We Still Be Friends 1:16:44
He should be in there at least as a producer.

god said..
+Gail Artsgard Nailed it, my favorite one on this. Absolutely beautiful.
funny thing is I am not really a fan of the studio version.
You know.... love you Gail! 😘
CD also features 'Love Science' (not one of my personal faves)
Song 11, title = We Gotta Get You A Woman
Man, they let the crowd be right there at end of stage. They don't do that in America, too many whacked fans would try to climb up there. This was a very nice show, songs just flowed one after the other.
Does anyone know the title of this first song?
The RRHF is so below Todd.

what album is this?
State de Luxe
Todd suffered from bronchitis...
I loved Todd no end,but a 65 year old should never wear leggings...
Todd is 72 now and he still wears them. The girls love them! 😉🤪😆
@@usandthemakakelly2535 I must've been in a silly mood,.....if any older person could wear them it's the Wizard......
@@PAULLONDEN being silly is freeing! 🌎✌️❤️🤙
I left a comment on how that dancer sucks. I COULD HAVE DONE a better Friend of Steven Tyler
It sucks !!!
+TheYamaduta What does?
Seth Harris
