I know bikes aren't in here but the new Kawasaki h2 makes 310hp/litre and is supercharged. Pretty crazy for a bike or car I suppose.
How about Rezvani Beast X , 2.4L 700hp = 291hp/L , its a production car with twin turbo Honda K24 engine ;D

The Koenigsegg One:1 is an amazing piece of technology. If they made a race bike, it would hover down the highway.
The One:1 really is a masterpiece, however bikes are well beyond that power ratio now. The Yamaha R1 had 172bhp/172kg back in 2004. If there is anything older than this to have a 1:1 ratio I'd love to know
@@jackhawkins2758 both the R1 & one:1 are BMF (one from personal experience)... But hp to kg is bs.. Needs ×2.2 hp for a 1:1 ratio.

The Evo X was going down the toilet anyway. Mitsubishi lost their way on that one.
Peter Ökvist have had a lancer 7 fq300 and the lancer 10 fq440 I liked liked the fq300 the best
darrin goodbrand It was a nice package between performance and practicality, but it didn't sell well enough for Mitsubishi to justify offering it anymore. Many 'normal' buyers couldn't justify a compact sedan having such a high price.

there are a lot of tiny changes that have to be made for euro 4, only have to look at the end cans on new bikes to see shit is tough for the manufacturer's. Bring on direct injection!!!

unbelievable i can't believe he didn't mention the volvo drive e engines the polestar tuned ones can reach 225hp per liter! on the concept version and on the production engine it is still at a respectable 184hp per liter. Come on VisioRacer
Those aren't being produced yet, I don't think. Concepts and pre-production don't count.
Wait wait wait, the current production S60 Polestar has 367 hp from a 2.0 (just checked in Volvo configurator, and it's normally available). But it's twincharged, so I guess that's why it doesn't count.

There's no replacement for displacement
except: boost and revolutions
That's been known for years know. It doesn't sacrifice power, it sacrifices torque, whether you're using turbos or revs to make up for the displacement. This is even true between turbo engines. The Mercedes 4.0L turbo V8 makes about the same horsepower as the Alfa Romeo 2.9L turbo V6, but the Merc has something like 75 extra lb/ft of peak torque, and almost 100lb/ft extra under the curve.

High pressure 2.3 turbo, stock. 400k on engine.
Car was very fast on highway
Surprised and beat many cars after 100kms.

Honda s2000 makes 120 hp per liter and it's naturally aspirated

Ali Alhaddad the 458 makes 125bhp/l
Bar Goldstein the jdm s2000 makes 125 hp per litre and it revs 100 rpm lower and has lower 11.7:1 compression ration vs the 458s 14:1. It doesnt have to work as hard as the 458s engine and its far more reliable and cheaper. More reliable even when turbo/supercharged. I love the 458 by the way and am not a honda fan boy. But i do love the f20c.

The new Polestar Volvo V60 comes with a 2L straight four petrol engine with 367 hp, using both a turbo and a supercharger. Imagine if they still made straight fives, they could get 400 hp out of a 2.5L.
The Ferrari F40 would have a proper car to be featured on this list, considering his age.
2.9 liter of displacement, capable of making 480 ps
derbi senda F40 for me is greatest Ferrari ever,but for the sake of honesty,Alfa (with lowest bhp/L on the list) has same 2.9l with 510 bhp..
You wrote on the right side the chiron has a twin-turbo engine despite you said right, the engine is quad-turbo in fact

time to make my own in line 6 cylinder tri turbo engine called Bravo Juliet Meowolution!
Not sure you should have included the rotary RX7.... it is interesting how many humble engines are making 125 PS per litre now or more. I am talking of the trend to use 1 litre turboed engines in hatch-backs. They work well.
Why not do a video listing some of the poorest built engines with the least amount of power per litre of displacement
My wife's golf mk5 with (CAVG 185hp) 1.4 litre twincharger (turbo+compressor) makes @st2 ~223hp/1.4l=~160hp per litre.

you said the rx7 was the first production car with asequential turbo setup. But the porsche 959 had sequential turbos in 1986.
Maybe Santa Claus has an elk trick motor, in the McLaren P1 however you won't find one, especially not on top of it's combustion engine.
If the Ford GT at least came with a V8 it wouldn't have been such a disappointment. Instead of claiming this car as the successor to the V8 super car they should have just made a completely different v6 supercar. This is what happens when you let someone who isn't American decide the future of American cars

There's two things I don't like about turbos one is the sound they don't sound anything like a super bad ass V8 naturally expired or V12 that things are just Madness and second and most importantly don't they destroy the motor by like a hundred thousand miles because of all the pressures put on the motor from the turbochargers and what's the reason we see so many more turbos over superchargers I know the turbo has to spin a little bit RPM before it starts up in the supercharger is always on from start to finish so it's probably a little harder on your engine if you're beating the crap out of it like most people would be if they had something like that on their engine
