- Explanation: I was selling 15 cardinal ruby for 8000 g, MYALTBANK wrote me that he would buy them all. During the trade I put 15 cardinal ruby and MYALTBANK player 8000g in my window, at this moment I was satisfied. In time 0:19 MYALTBANK changed very fast 8000g to 800g and again typed trade. He relied on me not noticing and accepting the trade. After a few seconds MYALTBANK canceled trade and said: "Sry i am lagging." Next trade i was ready for the same trick. So i quickly removed cardinal rubies and hit trade button. He didn't expect it and trade his 8000g for nothing. What he wanted to do to me, I did to him - scam.

So the scammer is deletes a zero from the price and lists it just as fast again. So dude makes a trade accept macro so he can use the mouse to pull the rubies and accept the trade before he can remove the zero

@@klodd5328 it was so he could accept the trade while simultaneously removing the cardinal rubies from the trade window with left click, since the shit for brains scammer is trying to spam trade as much as possible after removing a zero from his 8000g input, he just ended up scamming himself
If the scammer was smart, he would have just logged out instantly after the first scam attempt failed lol

I haven't played on Warmane for years, but I remember very clearly this happening to a friend of mine and almost happening to me as well. That was over 5 years ago, crazy it still hasn't been fixed, but props for not only catching it, but also exposing this loser. This was golden. Pun intended.

What I like about TBC classic is that there's a confirmation now for gold and if there is any change to the trade, you have to reconfirm.
Ohh, I didn't know it was that easy to finesse the trade window (or that people were that scummy). Is this why there is a confirmation box with a timer on it in the retail version?

It works both ways. He also committed a banneable offense and its recorded on video. He will probs refrain from reporting.

their scam acouns contain just that character and they transfer the gold instantly so getting account banned really dosnt matter for them if they are smart its actually sad

Can someone explain what happened? I played wow back in the days but do t understand this one :/
The buyer "agreed" to trade the items for 8k but what he does is: Inputs 8k gold agrees to the trade (The seller now proceeds to click trade to accept) during this short time the buyer changes the amount of gold to only 800 and agrees to the trade hoping that the timing will be good enough for the seller to accept the trade. So the trade would be 15 Rubys for 800g instead of 8k. So what the seller does in this case is create a macro that will accept the trade (and binding it as pressing a button is faster than clicking the trade button with your mouse)-> thus eliminating the delay of pushing the trade button -> giving less time for the buyer to change the amount and confirm the trade again. So what ended up happening n the end was a trade of 15Rubys for 8k gold - which is not what the buyer(scammer) wanted to do.
I do not know the actual price af the item so i cannot tell how good/bad the trade was for 8k, but I'm assuming scammers do this to later flip the items in the AH for actual price (Which seeing how the scam is done can be 10x or 1000x more).
Feel fre to correct me if I'm wrong I haven't played wow for a bit either.
