It's all about how an unfinished Chinese Civil War would end eventually. It's not about any Taiwanese individuals would like to consider themselves Chinese or not. If the mainland wins this Civil War, Taiwan, the island, will be under PRC's control. If Taiwan or ROC wins, Taiwan will become a full-fledged sovereignty. But no matter what circumstance, it's all about Taiwan, the islands, but not about Taiwanese people's self-identity. Neither PRC government nor Chinese mainlanders really care about if any Taiwanese individuals would like to recognize themselves as Chinese or not or what so ever. Taiwan has always been part of China and all other nations recognized this, until the US became envious and felt threatened by China's growing influence. It's none of their business. It's all about how an unfinished Chinese Civil War would end eventually. It's not about any Taiwanese individuals would like to consider themselves Chinese or not.
If the mainland wins this Civil War, Taiwan, the island, will be under PRC's control. If Taiwan or ROC wins, Taiwan will become a full-fledged sovereignty.
But no matter what circumstance, it's all about Taiwan, the islands, but not about Taiwanese people's self-identity.
Neither PRC government nor Chinese mainlanders really care about if any Taiwanese individuals would like to recognize themselves as Chinese or not or what so ever.
The only thing they care about, is that Taiwan, the island, will still be a part of China, just like what the ROC governmet always insisted on before the 90's.
