  • Its time to get the winter wild camping gear out and grandad Keith once again. So off we head to do a short energetic walk on to the Peak Districts Kinder Scout. This place is never the same from one visit to another, on this trip it wasn't the same from morning to afternoon. I think that's why we like it so much.
I hope that you enjoy our trip.
    Regards

Thanks guys I really appreciate your comment.I agree with you about traveling by train, that was the most relaxing and chilled out way to start an adventure. It's made me have a bit of a rethink about future trips.👍

Another enjoyable adventure, think I have one left to watch.. Getting caught out in a thunderstorm not a good place to be, especially high up.. You always seem to take a nice drink along with you, something i will have to emulate.. ;) That jagermeister sounds interesting... Sleeping bag is something I am looking at, but struggling to decide upon.. It will have to be down and warm enough for a September night.. Keep up the adventures please.. ;)

Thanks for watching and commenting once again, take your time with that sleeping bag. Being warm and comfortable is everything on a camp. Wishing you and your family a merry Christmas from me and Kirsteen.

Nice video mate...how on earth did you not get off the train in time :-)...really is a steep climb up the Nab & up onto Ringing Roger & you were right the path is getting some much needed improvement near the top.I did the Kinder perimeter edge walk last month & from the south edge to the north the weather can be so different & change within minutes...looks like you & grandad keith had a good one & that's what it's all about..TFS & ATB..Andy

      Cheers thanks Andy..
Me and Keith being out together, that's what stopped us getting of the train. We couldn't get the door to open and by the time we had walked to the next door it was too late.
Definatly going back at some point to do a perimeter walk, we d quiet like it up there.
Thanks again and I will have to do some catching up on your channel.

Nice to see another person that likes jumping into the water, so it will be great for me and Kirsteen to watch and find new places.

Walking With Dogs .....Yes it certainly does change very quickly, I was so glad I took the bigger tent because at 5pm Keith was laying down in his bivi tent keeping out of the rain and it would have made a very long night. Thanks for your comment and subscription.

Enjoyed the video. We had a chat in Cooper's Cafe after what was probably your last wild camp on Kinder Scout (03/02). I just found the napkin with your youtube account written on. I'll tune in for the next upload :)

Great to here from you, how did the walking go ? We missed our train after we finished talking, by about four footsteps! We never have much luck on trains.
      Nice to here from you.

Looks like Edale station is a bogie for you! We had a great walk Saturday going up Crowden Clough and then swinging round east and descending by Ringing Roger. It was snowing on top and there was a nice fresh layer to trudge through. Next day we walked to Hope station via Mam Tor (along with half the population of Peak District). You'll be glad to know we made our train on time ;)

I am not sure if it’s the station or Keith, I think it’s keith! It sounds like you had a great time, congratulations on your train catching ability👍
      All the best.

Great video, looked like a really good trip. Always a bit nerve wracking in a thunder storm. I will also be incorporating more train journeys in my trips where possible and money allowing haha :-)
Love a bit of southern comfort to, you should get a hip flask to save weight

I have the Gsi hip flask that doesn't weight hardly anything. On the other hand Keith brings the bottles, and it was appreciated very much. 😋 What have you got planned anything interesting ?

It's always good if someone else carries the heavy booze haha
I've got another meet up soon and I'm hoping to get a snow camp in also, which will probably have a train journey in. There's lots of things I'd like to do its just a case of getting it on film and hopefully making it interesting for everyone that watches 👍🏻

      Hi Wayne
I am glad you liked it, the tent is a North Face Talus 2.
It comes in at 2.20 kg so it's not really light weight unless your sharing the weight with someone else because it sleeps two.
I don't mind carrying it on short trips because it offers so much space.
      Regards

Peachy Outlook I blame grandad Keith he couldn't get the door to open and by the time we had moved to the next door it was too late! Although he swears the train was broken, but I am saying nothing🤐 And yes there really is a place called Hope, it must be great to say you actually live in Hope.
