- power seats explained how power seats work with the motor and a switch with a bi-directional motor that switches polarity into directions and allows the operator to switch the seats up and down or back and forth dependent upon the switch positions
im considering purchasing a car seat that has cooling fans, this helps me out because i plan to use the seat for sim racing, and if i can read diagrams like this because of your helpful video ill be able to diagnose what wires which, bypassing can bus as a whole (all depends on what one i ultimately choose)
thanks for being very informative.
Hello Joe, nice video..I got a little question on this connection.. is it possible that i bypass the seats' switch..I will put another switch for reverse and forward power seat motor..is it possible?
But where would you put that switch remember the switch works positions works in two positions and the motor is bi-directional meaning you saying you use the same motor for forward and reverse
This was a great video love your channel thank you joe!! New sub 🎉
Hello, I'm studying in Turkey, and I have a research assignment on "Electronic Seat Control, Electric Seat Adjustment." Can you help me with that?
Please I need to ask my seat is manual can I take any electronic seat to assembly to my car ?
no I will not recommend it if you're saying your seat is manual you need to put a rod to the seat to swing it back and forth even though it's electronic it has to be moved somehow but obviously there's no electronic connector to it to power it
also if you want to do it manual or electronic since there's no electronic circuits to it you have to put at least a lever so that you can swing it back
Hi. How to energize lumbar system of mb w205 seat out of car? I will make a simulation cockpit for play race games, but I can’t do this work, other motors are ok. I’m use 19v notebook to supply the seat. I tried everything, stills not work. I really need you help, Tks.
Trying to find a diagram that hopefully will help you sometimes the manufacturers do not give old information to the public do not give all the information to the public trying to find something that's similar to what you're asking there are modules and many sensors and heaters involved with seats as you can see
Very good video thank you Joe for all your effort am really learning a lot
I'm glad that you're learning something from the videos it's very important that you achieve a skill of being able to read symbols and components and then understand their functions that's the first phase
ditto! keep it up
Hey Joe. I have a 2011 Toyota Sienna that I recently purchased. The driver seat goes forward when switch is pushed to the rear, and then goes backwards when I want it to go forward. Is there a way to switch wires to fix this issue? If so can you tell me which wires to switch? Thank you
I have to pull up the schematic
There is a ECU believe it or not for this Toyota controlling the motor and the direction of the motor and switches if wall wiring is correct there is a possibility can be the ECU
Any chance you happen to have a part number for that?
@@walsappy try to look at Google for ECU for power seats for 2011 Toyota sienna see what you can come up with but this is based on that you did the preliminary test on the switches and motors obviously they're getting 12 volts because they wouldn't be working the first place but they're working the opposite direction
I am putting power seats from a 2003 Nissan Altima into a Nova. The 10 way drivers side seat has a memory module that I need to bypass. Where can I find a diagram showing each coloered wire from the switch side. And witch wire on the motors side that it should be attached to. Thanks
They're on many of them but I always use Mitchell but that cost about 1999 for each car you can use alldata, or just put in power seats for Ultima Nova schematic and the internet you might see a diagram of it try that that's for free
Very informative thank you I now have a much better understanding the switch does everything I’m a bit lost I have a 2005 Hummer H2 SUT the pickup version I want to swap in 2018 GMC Denali power heated and cooling seats GM uses a BCM but the principle in electronics should be the same you every thing I sure could use help figuring this out
BCM requires programming that's the body control module of GM any computer model usually needs a programming especially when they control those accessories
Excellent video!!!
Appreciate the comment Timothy
Hey Joe, you DEFINITELY don't find anybody explaining how schematics work like you are showing!
I am hoping you can help with my situation.... I'm resurrecting my 69 Chevelle after I had to let it sit for 20yrs. I have gotten her running again after swapping in a drivetrain from a 2010 Silverado. I did all of the work in my yard(including the wiring harness) putting the ECM inside the dash.
I recently got a set of seats from a 2020 Honda Accord, but didn't get any harnesses, or controllers, only the seats.
Can you help me figure out how to power them up in my Chevelle? There are so many wires in the plugs under the front edge, where the original cars harnesses clipped into the seats that I just boggles my brain!
Help me..... PLEASE Joe! My mind has been smoke tested over this!
Well first you have to get a wiring diagram of the old wiring where they went and find a suitable compatible seats and connectors you can go to Google and put in your 69 Chevelle wiring diagram for seats and you should get a wiring diagram for that specific situation for free but everything has to be compatible get that down download it and then get back to me
great info
Thank you appreciate it
