This is honestly the first useful IEC wiring diagram tutorial I have ever seen and I have looked occasionally for several years. Reading these diagrams is something most must learn on-the-job, so this is a great tool for speeding up that process. This is even great for seasoned controls workers in the US where we usually use the horizontal ladder style and IEC drawings from Europe can be unfamiliar.

I agree with you! I sent this video to a student who just got a job and was not sure how diagrams work. From the different factories I've worked in at industry, I think this "rule of thumb" style overview is amazing and I wish I'd had it when I started. Also American and the standards are alike enough from country to country for this to be 100% useful.

This popped up on my suggested videos, I design machines for manufacture in the Semiconductor industry, sign off electrical diagrams (mostly for machines already in the field, but have to be upgraded with additional parts), install upgrades, trouble shoot all types of problems eg, electrical, robotic, mechanical, software etc. My main area of expertise is the thinning of silicon wafers and etching machines using either wet chemicals or dry plasma. Your video is very familiar work for me, even for complex machines, if you can completely understand the basics, then the rest is not much harder. Good work!

I'm certain following along with your videos will make me stand out when I start my first job in the industry.
I'm glad I found this channel in the weeks coming up to my first day, especially since they are expecting me to be fresh out of school, with a programming concentration NOT a power concentration.
Amazing work and thanks again for your knowledge.

Upmation No problem. I would like to know the basics and simple methods of fault finding, like what point to start from, what I could immediately dismiss as the fault, settings on the test meter I would need to use and what to look for etc. That would be great 👍🏻
