93/94 old school and premodern are my favorite formats. I played competitively during these sets, and it’s great nostalgia for me. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks Jared! Yes, Verdict is very strong and a very big reason why I even put this deck together in the first place: a deck that has good mana that can cast that card reliably will be strong by definition!
Definitly a deck I am looking forward to play in the future at my local store. Fortunatly we go a quite big Premodern Community here in the southwest of Germany. Unfortunatly already 3 people are piloting this deck 😂 Guess I stick to Goblins and 10 Land Stompy for now. Keep the Content flowing Pal Cheers
@@fpawluszmtg at the moment I am high on Goblins, though the amount of E.Plagues in the meta is quite high. Still the greenskins have a soft spot kn my heart and they are fun to play and can grind quite well for an aggro deck.
New frame vindicates cost 0.01, old frame cost upwards of 1 dollar at the time. I spend it on cards that I personally like and feel like are worth it to me, but I play way too many decks and make too little $ to have every deck old framed 😅
Probably. Mostly I'd just adjust my playing, and sandbag lands if I can. As long as my opp doesn't actually kill me then things should eventually turn in my favor.
Cause I think E Tutor sucks. If it's turn 3-4 and you topdeck E Tutor that's at least 4+ damage you are taking. If you topdeck the CoP instead you can begin to come back into the game.
@@fpawluszmtg I don't like Etutor too but... You have 9 target for it (and you can replace the disenchant by a seal of cleasing for example) The 2nd COP is useless vs nought but if it would be a Etutor you can side it in you raise your solutions against the nought or to get a tormod vs reanimator or idk what do you think of this point? I agree 100% on the fact this card is not crazy, and yes COP will save you 4 life depending of the state but in all other MU (do you side it against goblin?) it will be a useless slot
Drawing an E Tutor when you needed a CoP against Sligh is the difference between it mattering and saving you or you losing the game immediately. I have had mostly bad experiences with Tutor, especially in control decks.@@issmoul931
I have actually played Vengeance in this deck in the past, and it's better than you'd think! Definitely a playable sideboard card if that's the kind of effect you are looking for!
Akroma's Vengeance is amongst my sideboard options. It's great if that's the kind of effect you're looking for, and gives you a shot against Enchantress. Definitely a card to keep in mind!
Hey fran i really love this deck, i used to played this deck back in the time , when it was in modern format (the version of DGA) and i want to play a version in premodern and this is the that i pick ( or i will do it when i find all the cards). I dont finish the whole video yet and i have two questions, 1st you can target your self with the veredict to discards two cards a gaining 6 life (it could be an option in the pit match) and the second is if you could cut a dust bowl or pool to include something else ?
Nice, hope you finish putting it together soon! a) YES, that's why you always need to keep in mind to hold on to lands, especially when facing Burn. b) You could, but why would you? What else could you play that's the better than having good mana or having a great disruptive angle that works really well with your engine?
I could see Masticore being good, the problem is that I don't think it solves any of the deck's problems. We are already pretty good against Midrange and creature decks.
@@fpawluszmtg I’ve had some success with it as a one of compared to a 3rd wrath of god in the list that I am playing. After watching all your content I would say that it probably is a brick against a majority of the decks you have been playing against. Anyways, love your game play and videos.
It's quite literally one of the best stand alone creatures in the entire format, and one of the few that can stabilize a game and swing a race. It's also quite hard to answer in the card pool.
Madness is great and a pet deck of mine, so there will be Madness content in the future for sure. There are simply too many sweet decks to play in this format... it's a problem!
I've spent the past month or so farming my modern and standard collection to build pre-modern decks w a friend. We've been playing since the 90's so it's been very fun re-living our childhood. Yes there are so many decks. I'm going to just have the entire format eventually. So far I have together survival madness like cyberpunker and the intuition/gush/foil build. Sligh, landstill, stiflenaught and most of ponza/oath and most of rec/sur. Need moxes and cradles. You need to do drastic things to buy everything quickly.
This is a great introductory deck cause it's: a) Really cheap (best deck for how cheap it is) b) Really hard to play and rewarding to master Hope you like it as much as I do!
Its not. but its also just a creature that dies and does nothing else. A lot of those see play in premodern, but the real problem with shade in itself is just that the shells people try to put him in are usually "broken in half" DGA decks that a lot of time struggle to find the right half of the deck they want in a match. Nantuko is just pure agression and doesnt help towards making those decks more consistent.
I am not a fan of Shade, it's one of those cards that is weird in the format cause it lines up poorly against what most people are doing and ties your mana in a very annoying way if you want for it to be impactful. In this very video we see how little Shade achieves for my DGA opponent.

Literally the two best formats Magic has to offer.
Here is a positive, non-toxic, non-idiot comment for you: great video!
Hahaha, thanks Gabe!
dude you are on fire! keep it premodern!
Thank you! Premodern is amazing, and I'll keep it Premodern as it should be!
GGs mate, i like your take on this deck. I proxied few premodern decks for friends and this one is among them :)
Thank you! Deck's awesome!
Great content as always , I love this format!
Thank you! So do I 🥰
Very good content. Well done Fran.
Gerard’s verdict is so good. Really wish it was more decks could support it.

Against Armageddon is terrible
Love your premodern content please keep going

Deck's really fun to play, and without a doubt the best cheap deck in the format. You should join the other 3 players and tech for the mirror! 😆

Yes it is!
Love the deck, love the videos. How would you modify the sideboard if you expect TerraOath with Mox Diamond / Armageddon? More Planar Birth lol?
Probably. Mostly I'd just adjust my playing, and sandbag lands if I can. As long as my opp doesn't actually kill me then things should eventually turn in my favor.
Outstanding 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you very much!
Great video! Thank you Fran! What do you think about Sphere of Law instead of the CoP:reds?
This is the best CoP deck in the format, imo. I think it's just the better card cause you hit so many land drops that you never tap out.
7:35 *takes notes*
Shouldn't be spilling my strats in public...
This deck is so sweet.
It very much is, I really enjoy playing it
Gonna have to slap this together for the gauntlet
Banger deck, and really cheap to put together, which makes it a bangeST!

Cool deck. I wonder how you would rate this deck vs. Madness?
Probably terrible! If I expected a lot of Madness then I'd put a high premium on more Furnaces and Wrath effects.
