    I was just looking at the BMW adventure classes... Except I don't own a BMW :) I'd love to get into adventure riding, but I'm a pretty new rider. This course seems like a lot of fun and teaches you good skills. Great video, even just watching those water crossings gets the blood going!

    what a great vid Steve, it really showed what this course was all about. Though a Vicco, when I get my GS850 at the end of the year I reckon I'll book the NSW course.
    I notice you have a Navigator VI. what do you think of it as there as so many negative reviews.

      G’day, thanks. The Navigator is just ok. I’ve seen better. The factory unit failed at about 12 months. I got a free replacement. See Steve’s Tesla if you’re into EV’s. Cheers

    Here is where you notice the real meaning of being tall and sporty than small and belly. On the road even the smaller can make it on these giant heavy bikes but off road, where the ground-light changes and suddenly they have no way to touch with their short legs here is where the fun ends up all of a sudden. Or they are sporty and have gained enough tecnique to be able to get out the sh*t by standing up on the footpegs or they end up crashing and rolling around (funny and sad at the same time while watching).

    30:08. Bike settings are crucial. Street mode probably not the best setting for a water crossing.

    • @StevesBikes01
      @StevesBikes01  2 роки тому

      G'Day, yes, we had Traction control off, I use street mode as it lowers the suspension a bit and makes it easier wading through. What setting do you recommend? Cheers

    It seems good to me to take an off road course and more for this type of heavy motorcycles, to have practice, to know and know its inertia and to lose fear.
    But driving this type of motorcycle focused more on the asphalt and less off the asphalt, this type of trail motorcycle is more designed for road use, and only some dirt track, which can take you to some point of interest on the trip, to get the photo.! Although many traveling bikers use them, so much electronics lost on dirt roads, it is not the most advisable.
    But to ride around the countryside in every way, the best are lighter bikes and 100% Enduro bikes.

You can turn it on and off and also you can manually select the parts of the video where ads pop up. You can use that feature and add ads at the beginning, end and once or twice during the video. That would be acceptable. I believe I had 4 or 5 during the video, some of them double ad

    Somehow taking my $25K r1250GSA that I absolutely love, and trying to ride it like a Enduro Machine does not make dollars and cents to me. Any machine that's tips the scale @ 350 lbs or more fully loaded W/O rider does not qualify as a off road machine. Touring with a wee bit of dirt roads is what the machine is designed for and not much more. Just my opinion, but REAL MEN got to do what they got to do. BMW parts department loves you :-) Absolutely great video, loved it and found it educational. Much Gratitude for all the effort that you put into making it.

      @@lifesjourneyat50 , Life is still a journey at 72. My opinion at 50 would be more like you. I have ridden the GSA 900 mile plus in a 24 hour period and put 15K miles on it in a year and a half and 90% on KY, IN,TN and WV back roads most all up and down twisties. Merry Christmas Kind Sir, Stay Safe and I wish you many Fun and Trouble Free Miles.

    Thank you for the great video! I haven't been able to take an off-road course yet for my F750GS, so this video taught me a lot. Can't wait to find a course! BTW, how did you get the footage behind you?

      G'Day, I have two GoPros, one front on my chin and one on the rear. I also use an iPhone for most other shots. Cheers

    Take blokes that are out of shape to begin with, put ‘em on a 600 pound bike, and take them to rough terrain. Would it have been different had they learned these techniques on a 350 pound bike?

      Yeah that's us, a lighter bike would be easier but that's not the BMW way, cheers

      Yeah, it would have been different... they wouldn't have learnt how to do it on 600 pound bikes. Sometimes you need to challenge yourself.
