Yep and people just don't get it. With heatstroke for a dog it's a 50/50 chance of death. When I got my xl bully Babygirl, she arrived to me malnourished, dirty and suffering active heatstroke. I prayed so hard, gave her water, sat in the fan and wiped her down with cool cloths for 8 hours until her pulse finally came down. I just stayed by her and didn't leave her until she got better. Scariest 8 hrs of my life. People are really sick and twisted.

I live nearby the arrest in Brevard, Florida. One of the things I love about our Sheriff Wayne Ivey is that he has zero tolerance to animal abuse and posts walk of shame videos for animal abusers.

That’s my kind of man. People that abuse animals are about as low as can be. I hate it when I have to tell my little one she has to stay home because she can’t go in with me. I am very lucky though because here in California there are very few places they refuse to allow your dogs. One time a store told me she had to walk and couldn’t be in the cart so she walked. She’s so small I always worry somebody might step on her by accident.

@@perla3547 I don’t have a car, and I don’t know how to drive a cars. I learned from UA-cam videos and news that cars could be extremely hot in summer. I also learned that dogs can’t eat onion after I fed my dogs onions twice, fortunately he’s totally fine. Fortunately I never feed my dog chocolates, I learned this years ago. However I don’t have a chance to learn those things from school. I tried my best to learn things about dogs from UA-cam. Who knows what else important things I still don’t know about dogs.

Animal cruelty shouldn’t be tolerated. I live in Brevard County, FL and our Sheriff (Wayne Ivey) takes a hard line, personally shame walks them to jail on video…and we Love him for it.
As someone with a senior pug, seeing those dogs was absolutely heartbreaking.

Reasons like this is why I’m studying to go into law enforcement. I want to be the officers that save these animals’ lives. The husky one actually made me cry and you could hear the pain in the officer’s voice knowing he was face-to-face with a man that did that to a dog.

@@bunv1le Actually, I didn't know about the cats when I wrote that comment, and I believe the cop didn't know either. So, I think it doesn't justify his action. As you can see in that scene, the cop literally sat on the woman, asserting his superior power over her. He didn't need to emphasize that by shocking her; she couldn't do anything anyway with the heavy cop sitting on her back. She was just all bark and no bite. I think the cop's action was harsh.

Honestly all animals deserve respect and it hurts to know that these animals are treated terribly and some dying from being locked in a car. Thankfully bunches are saved and I am eternally grateful for all of those people who save animals who all deserve equal amounts of love!

I *hate* defending this treatment because I absolutely do not agree with it AT ALL - The only thing I can think of is not every culture values/thinks of pets the way western cultures do. That seems to be changing and that is NOT an excuse - I do think education about laws and proper animal care might make a small difference.
What I struggle with is she obviously cared because there were blankets specifically for the dogs.
The dogs are old so until that unfortunate mistake they looked taken care off, the dogs only stayed in the car for a short time but she underestimated the heat multiplier inside the car, she must feel really sad considering the length of time that dog spent with her, you calling her insane is stupid.
The pig was responsible for that whole thing. He was an ass**** from the start.

um, officers have a protocol called leaving the car on. its in case of a fleeing suspect so they can chase them. That means AC. Stop trying to defend these abusers

That's because pit bulls get a bad rap. They're dogs just like any other dog. The breed doesn't make a dog mean or dangerous, how they're raised does. Even mean dogs can usually tell when they're being helped.

The 1st 2 scenes pissed me off. The 1st officer is so worried about the dog being a damn Pitbull, he only thinks to at least break the window for ventilation when animal control shows up. The dog got worse in all that time the officer was waiting for animal control. Ridiculous.
Scene 2, the officers knew the dogs needed the vet and wasted time talking with the stupid owner. How many times do you need to hear the owner say she taking the dog home before you take charge? They needed an IV stat.

Okay let’s try to apply some critical thinking since you obviously lack it. The pittbull could be aggressive because it’s angry from being so hot. It could also attack just because it’s a pittbull. They are worrying about their own safety and other people’s saftey so they wait a short amount of time. They also don’t want to break the window and have the dog freak out and get injured.

Imagine killing your own dog.. by being stupid.
I'm crying so much over the 13 year old pug. Imagine living such a long life, just to die a brutal death that was completely preventable. The other two dogs will suffer greatly at the loss of their friend as well. I pray this woman served an actual sentence and that the two surviving dogs are in a loving home, together. I also wish the cops had done more. They were just thrown into the back of the car and left to sit in there. The cop didn't even give them water.. he just held the water bottle around and seemingly was just looking at them. That dog could have been saved if someone had stayed with him and given him water and cooled his body down. It just devastates me. I wish I had never seen this :(

sadly you can see when the officer picked the 13yo pug up that he was already stiffening up and heading into seizures. once it gets to that point its usually too late, especially for such an old small dog. the officer poured water around the face and mouth which is what you’re supposed to do. he couldn’t pour water over the actual body bc once the heat has already soaked in like that, it actually just makes it worse.

I like how suddenly the pugs are her babies. If she really saw them as her babies she never would have left them in a hot car. Then refused to get the dogs to the vet when they clearly needed it. I had a little 8 pound chihuahua mix she was my baby I could never have even imagined doing that to her.
You confuse maliciousness with ignorance, I guarantee you that the lady with the pugs would 100% leave her baby inside a hot car instead of the dogs if given the chance. Some people are just extremely negligent, and that ignorance is very deadly.
Just fyi, to avoid confusion, yes she was booked into a detention center with 3 counts of willful malicious torture of an animal, but that's not the same thing. “Malicious”, in legal terms, means an act is done without just cause or excuse, even if it is not motivated by ill will.
I was blaming leaving the dogs in the car was because she was elderly, she may not understand the situation.
She must have a serious attachment problem if she can't go grocery shopping 25 minutes without her dogs. The way she reacted when told her dogs were taken to the vet was irrational.

This is why i always carry a window smasher in my backpack (if I leave the house, I have this backpack), you never know when you'll find a kid or dog left in a hot car. Of course, I'll call the cops, but if it looks like there's not enough time, I'll take the repercussions for my actions. Also, you never know if you might be the first on the scene of an accident and need to smash a window to help a person trapped inside.
