It’s disrespectful to even mention Bullet Train in the same sentence with Tarantino. It’s an okay movie that I’m sure a lot of people will enjoy. Saying that Bullet Train is similar to a Tarantino film is like comparing some backup Small Forward in college to Lebron James. They play the same position, but one is clearly superior.
To Jake's point about "Prey" where the French Trappers were talking to Naru, one of the French Trappers can speak Comanche. That French Trapper character explicitly said that he speaks many languages. I watched the Comanche dubbed version first.

Bullet train was just an Awful awful movie. The characters were just trying to be funny when clearly not, the action scenes just tirelessly dragged on, representation of the Japanese culture was borderline insulting, the teenage girl was misappropriating Japanese school girl look. The critics’s view in the Independent, the telegraph and guardian were spot on here. Just a bad bad film where the train should have been cancelled before it even left the Tokyo staton.
Just watched Bullet Train yesterday and absolutely loved it every part of it! But you know what, I love me a good train wreck scene. Haven’t seen a good train wreck scene in a hot minute. Shout out to good train wreck scenes, gotta be one of my favorite genre of movies.
