the backstory for the water bottle was genius. never seen that before, I almost died laughing. and I found the plot pretty simple and easy to understand. I thought the story was tied together really well, the character backstories were pretty well done, and overall it was a really great movie. The water bottle scene is clever, has some of the best uses of the camera in terms of how it was shot, and lasts like a minute Also I went to this movie high and slightly buzzed and still understood everything about the plot and interconnecting storylines, the movie has so many flashbacks and dialogue that pretty much explain everything, like almost explains TOO much, so I’m not sure how Sean didn’t understand parts of what was going on
Yeah, too much flashback and explanation, but kinda loved the movie even more for it as it felt like an anime trope. And especially with that water bottle doubling down to that extent. It was a self-aware trope-parody without a shadow of a doubt. And the over the top BS was always internally consistent. The whole ride was a live-action anime. Loved every minute of it.
I don't think the plot was difficult to understand, and I liked the water bottle backstory. Plus something I haven't heard anyone talk about it yet, and a bit of a spoiler. At the end of the movie a tangerine truck runs over someone which is the same tangerine truck that almost runs over Ladybug at the beginning of the movie.
It is normal that after I watch this movie I felt like “this has to be one of the best movies I seen in my entire life” it was so well made. I do not feel this movie has any cons. The 54% on Rotten Tomatoes just doesn’t make sense.

Though some will roll their eyes others like myself will laugh not because it was that funny but I stopped taking the movie seriously after all the violence in the beginning of the movie. You could think its stupid yeah like trying to make an object like a character (dumb) but I knew director was doing the fly on the walls journey thing and it was amusing to me.
I absolutely loved this movie, it was just so gleefully bloody and wild and the cast chemistry was hilarious, especially with Lemon and Tangerine. I actually didn’t think it was to convoluted or confusing, all the character backstories were easy to follow. 9.5/10 in my book.
A very Guy Ritchie/Quintan Tarintino vibe with that 87/11 twist. I really enjoyed the movie, been a while since we’ve had that kind of slick funny crime comedy mixed with that ultra violence

me and my mother knew this movie wasn't going to be anything groundbreaking, just a fun movie that we would sit down and enjoy, and we had a lot of fun with it.

And honestly better than those films This movie gets a 9or 10 out of 10 for me The Wolf is there, because the Hornet killed his fiance and I think he recognized Brad.from the wedding which is why he tries killing him Lemon and tangerine killed the white deaths men, so they were there because the white death wanted retribution for his men in Bolivia The prince is white deaths daughter, so yeah The Hornet was probably brought in to kill the son, because the wife died trying to rescue the son... And the Hornet was responsible for the white deaths wife not getting treated The Asian guys son was there because the prince was trying to set up her dad And Brad was there, because the white death thought Brad was the guy who crashed into his wife's vehicle and caused her death... Which was one of the cameos And I think thats it Hope this helps, if you try explaining it to your wife

it's honestly a great time, the movie takes alot of anime inspiration as well as mid 2000s crime action and mixes it perfectly. the "long and fleshed out backstory for a character that gets killed 2 seconds later" is a comedy choice and the movie is just asking you to sit back and enjoy the story, if you pay attention a little you will see some genius setup and positioning as well as acting choices which make the story that more interesting.
It was really good. Other than having tons of characters that made it hard to follow the plot from time to time. Sometimes it was to much especially at the beginning
I saw this trailer when I went and saw another film a few months back and thought it looked good. My cousin and I decided to go and watch it last night and it was really good for a movie that takes place majority on a train. Really good movie
Movie was fucking brave. It was so cool. The actions was so insane and some of the shots were really scenimatic. Was fast fun, didn’t laugh that often which was an honestly a good thing becuase I feel it landed when it need to, to not overstay it’s welcome. Really enjoyed 8/10.

Not a cartoon, an anime. Lots of stylistic choices are classic anime tropes. From the character designs to the rule of cool and physics be damned action, the overdone flashbacks and surface level philosophy always in your face.
if you are reffing to the maxican gang member, his story was necessary setup for another characters backstory, and besides "long and complex backstory for a character that gets immediately killed" is a comedic style/anime parody that works great imo....not to mention they make fun of themselves with the water bottle backstory 10/10 subversion of expectations

The trailers didn't sell me on the movie and I'm glad to know I'm correct. It looks so bad and the use of "Staying Alive" would work. If the year was 2014. As we see with Thor Love and Thunder there's a general consensus that nostalgia doesn't sell anymore. Even GoTG Vol. 2 toned down the nostalgia-bait with less songs used. Bullet Train looks like a checklist for a modern blockbuster but ultimately there's no heart to it. The Batman is still the best 2022 blockbuster so far. I eagerly await Black Adam and Shazam. Now those trailers sold me.

Walking out I personally thought that this movie was near perfect but damn you right, that’s true and I have to knock a few points off now

I had a blast with it. Despite the flaws it was really a lot of fun. 8/10 for me
Tangerine and Lemon were the standouts for me. I'm not surprised that I see some people wanting a prequel movie about the two of them.

Bullet Train is a perfect example of the simplistic genius of Tarantino’s films. Brad Pitt got a nice paycheck….it’s not Once Upon a Time!

The backstory I found ridiculous was when they spend five minutes on a backstory for one character just to kill him off a minute later.
if you are reffing to the maxican gang member, his story was necessary setup for another characters backstory, and besides "long and complex backstory for a character that gets immediately killed" is a comedic style/anime parody that works great imo....not to mention they make fun of themselves with the water bottle backstory 10/10 subversion of expectations

The trailers didn't sell me on the movie and I'm glad to know I'm correct. It looks so bad and the use of "Staying Alive" would work. If the year was 2014. As we see with Thor Love and Thunder there's a general consensus that nostalgia doesn't sell anymore. Even GoTG Vol. 2 toned down the nostalgia-bait with less songs used. Bullet Train looks like a checklist for a modern blockbuster but ultimately there's no heart to it. The Batman is still the best 2022 blockbuster so far. I eagerly await Black Adam and Shazam. Now those trailers sold me.
