I just discovered the School of Rock channel today. I've been binge-watching for hours. If what I have seen tonight is indicative of what to expect in the future, then I hope this concept NEVER DIES. The talent has been blowing my mind so much, that I'm four hours past bedtime! I wish this was around in the 80s when I was that age.
The musical direction & production are pretty amazing. UA-cam is full of incredibly talented kids, but to be able to take the best of several schools and in a couple weeks have them playing together and cutting a record as good as (or sometimes better than) any cover - or even the original - is simply amazing. Play these in the background and you'd never guess they were kids, they sound amazing, like the best bands who've gelled as a band over months or years. Kudos to School of Rock!
I really wish they had this when I was young. Teaching the youth of today what, we had to learn the hard way (on the road) is an extraordinary idea that came to life.

Nice, I grew up in Philly. I'm older (51) and had a friend that I grew up with, I didn't keep playing when we were gonna start a band (should've sung) but he started one with my brother Pablo, then later after the band broke up he started working at Bluebond Guitars and Chef's Market while teaching kids out of his apartment. I remember talking about it with him when he had 3 or 4 kids he was teaching punk and metal too, it was awesome. He later started an entire school called the Paul Green School of Rock, and it was epic! Wonder if you folks ever heard of it, kinda sounds like ya have

Yes, and they are probably everywhere. In any kind of band you can think of. They might not be famous, but I bet they're happy playing music with others. Cuz that's what you learn how to do at this school!
