I got these 2 weeks ago. Played a tournament with them the day after I bought them, ended up shooting 65 and won by a few shots. absolutely loved them. Srixon irons have been great for years. I’ve played Mizuno MP4/MP54 combos and switched to Srixon and haven’t looked back. The ZX7s are my favorite irons so far.
Bought these irons in March and I absolutely love them! Didn’t think I could find a better feeling iron than what I already had until I hit these and instantly fell in love and knew I had to have them!
I’ve just got back into playing golf after about 6 years out of the game, have a set of ZX4’s from 5 - AW, the ZX5 Drives, ZX 2 iron and absolutely love the laser straight shots and massive forgiveness.
I have been playing them since January and I have never played a Srixon product prior to buying these. You nailed it on your assessment, surprisingly forgiving, good distance for the category and the sole has allowed me to get away with so much spotty contact. The turf interaction cannot be beat.
I've played the 7 series Srixon since the 745s came out, I briefly switched to the 945 blades, then a mixed set of 765/965, before returning to the 7s with the 785s and now the ZX7s - I personally prefer them over the Mizunos which I'm lucky enough to still demo alot. (I was a big mizuno fan before the switch) so Srixon gets the two thumbs happy from me 👍👍
Recently got fitted into some Srixon zx5 irons. So far I love them. The feel is really good and they brought consistency to my game that I didn’t have before.
I tested the Zx7 a few months ago. Up and down the iron set 4-P, I was impressed with the distance, accuracy, and control. They were not overly loft strengthened, and I encountered no hot or dead shots. They would be in my bag if not for the cost. I am 69 yrs old; HC index of 7.7; 7 iron swing speed of 80mph.
I bought a set of 620 MB’s over the winter. I thought I was in love until a friend had me try his ZX7’s. The 620’s were sold and a set of ZX7’s were purchased. I love them.
Went from P790s to ZX7s with Recoil Dart shafts a couple of months ago. Had five birdies my 3rd round with them and hit every green but one in reg. The design and feel just give you so much more confidence and SOOO buttery.
I have the P790-21s. My experienced golfer buddies keep telling me I need to get these ZX7s as I'm just outhitting the 790s. I'm glad to see someone has the "same" clubs I do and saw a really good change with the ZX7s.
Tested a lot of clubs when switching out my irons at the end of last year. Loved the ZX7's, got them in the 120g NS Pro modus shaft, not a single ounce of regret.
@@SparkyGarage anything japanese is going to be quality except for soapland massages..I went to the mizuno and srixon factories in Japan and it's pure quality..
Srixon makes a bunch of really good stuff. I’ve had the hollow-headed driving iron for a couple of years now and it’s my go-to club on lots of tight driving holes.
5 years ago I had Mizuno MX23. Went for an iron fitting at SGGT with an open mind but leaning towards the MP25. Came away with Srixon z745 and have loved them ever since. I noticed the same thing about the sole
I did the same ,, took the Z785' over the mizuno's,, they feel great, just as buttery as Mizuno's, constant distance and a touch forgiving,, low HC but didn't need to prove anything by going to blades.
I really wish that either you or Mr. Shiels would review the Ben Hogan PTX Pro irons. They have a very similar V sole design, the same type of tungsten weighting in the long irons, and are forged. The major difference is that the head shape, especially in the toe area, is so much more appealing. Also the overall look of the club is so classic. Looking at them side by side with my old set of BH Apex grinds, there are so many design touches that carried over.
Really enjoyed your format of club testing on course (who doesn't enjoy watching someone play golf) then specs inside then back out on course! ⛳ Brilliant
Made the switch to the Zx7's 6 months ago. Played Taylormade irons for years, then I hit the Zx7's and instantly new these were my new clubs. I love them.
Been playing Mizunos since the MP Pro (almost 20 years now). Never ever thought I’d playing anything but Mizunos….until I hit the ZX7s. Got fitted for a set this past weekend. Here’s to change!
Starting using Srixon irons 3 years ago, my first set of Srixon, have never looked back. Yes the "V" sole is a game changer. Wonder why other manufacturers haven't gone to it.? 👍 Great video Peter. 😃
I've got the ZX 2 iron and it is mint. Beautiful feel and nice high flight. I also use Srixon driver and 3 wood. Their clubs are as good as anything out there.
I think their forgings and the VT sole are really what sets Srixon irons apart. Quality metal in a great shape that interacts well with the turf. It's just well rounded.
My friend insisted i try his at the club yesterday. I thought the looks were quite plain but not offensive either but the feel, sound and my ball flight was spot on!! Suoer consistent and predictable. I am going to seriously contemplate bagging a set i liked them that much. Well done Srixon
Best club reviews, mixture of humor and good info. Ive been playing Ben Hogan PTx Pro's (in Black, obviously) for almost a year. Awesome feel, has the V sole, and the forgiveness is great too. Best thing about them is the shot shaping they allow followed by the looks
Bought the zx5 in the 5,6,7 irons and Zx7 in the 8,9. Got fitted by Srixon at a demo day. Was a very good experience. Delivery took 3weeks. Played three full rounds with them and several sessions on the range. Shot 74, 76, 73. Hit 17 greens one day and 12 and 14 on the other days. Up from my average of 11 GIR. Coming from Adams CB2 irons for the past 10 years. Easy transition. Very good decision for me. 4.7 handicap and 73 years old.
My mix of ZX5 and ZX7 arrived Wednesday and went straight into the bag for senior comp, they've replaced my 718 AP3 and AP2s, played wed Thurs and mid week comp tomorrow, I love them, so consistent for me off 11, play CBX 2, 50,54 and 60 love those as well.
I love my Srixon irons, initially i wanted a mixed set of zx5/zx7 but due to avaliablility issues i just ended up going with zx5's and i love them, no regrets at all
I have watched this video many times as I have worked through being fitted for some new Irons. Thank you for the content and my new ZX7's 4-PW should arrive tomorrow as an early holiday gift to...myself. My ball striking may not be pure but your content definitely is, Mr. Finch
Just traded up from Cobra SZs and man!!!!!! What a difference. Absolutely buttery feel, distance consistency like not before. Super pleased w my purchase!
Bought a barely used set of Srixon ZX5 irons with $-taper shafts, 1/4” short, 2 degrees upright, and one degree weaker loft, with GP align grips. I am loving them so far.
No, Mizuno have their own foundry. (Although I think they may have used Endo to forge some heads in the past.) The steel in forged Srixon ZX5+ZX7 heads is a slightly softer grade than what Mizuno use.
Played Mizuno irons for several years....JPXtour 921 from last December and therefore the MP18 blades .....changed (sooner than expected) to Srixon ZX7 because the way they performed was unbelievable....as you mentioned not only good looking but also very forgiving and not to forget buttery soft feeling with great feedback. The main reason I changed so soon was the level of forgiveness they delivered compared to the JPX tour 921 with (for me) even a more soft forged feeling than the Mizuno......I never thought I would say that....
Really really want a set of Mizuno MP20 MMC’s but being a leftie Mizuno don’t cater for it in the left handed option. These Srizon ZX7’s do however come in left handed, so based on all the info and reviews I’ve seen and read, I will searching out a fitter of Srixon irons and finally putting my 712 AP2’s into retirement. Appreciate the review Pete, and the fact you did. Early morning start, no warm up is pretty much every round I play and still got decent results from stiff swings. Boxes ticked.
Whatever camera/lense you used for this video is spot on! I loved being able to see your shot landed rather than the traditional hit and zoom. Just loved the angle.
I absolutely love mine, got fitted into them the day they released in the US and couldn't be happier. Switched to them from a set of cobra speedzones and the difference is tremendous.
Fast forward 2024 I have zx5 mk2 irons in the last week - twice at my local municipal (member) and once in corporate golf at a fancy place - I’ve played with 3 other people playing Srixon - best irons ever the sole is revolutionary
I went to fitting last October for mizunos and never even thought about Srixon. Ended up walking out with ZX5’s and I love them. I think this seasons Srixon clubs are class. Hopefully this will now move their position in market to compete with the US brands. Also I found that they’re made in Japan and the quality of the metals used in Japanese clubs are better the more established brands. I don’t think I’ll move away from Japanese clubs for a long time. Finally, the delivery time was only 3 weeks compared to 3 months from likes of Callaway, Titleist and Taylormade which made huge difference for me too.
Love playing Srixon Z star golf balls. Like the looks of the Srixon irons. Have considered buying a Srixon driver. Current irons are Mizuno JPX900 forged. Great video.
Congrats on 400k Pete! Cheers for pumping out so much positive content. Back in lockdown here in Australia, so these vids helping get me through another golf hiatus!
I'm still rocking the Srixon I-506 irons and still love them. The only thing I'd swap them for would be Srixon's Z-Forged irons, they are beautiful. 😁⛳👍
Just ordered the ZX 5 irons, previously had the Z585 irons. If the ZX are half as good then they will be brilliant, such an underrated club Company. People really really need to try these.
Hi Peter, I had mizuno for 15 years, switched to these last summer, they look fantastic, my game has improved, handicap has come down …what’s not to like 👍….p.s. it’s not the irons really, just playing a lot more 😁
I'm just looking at these at the moment, was looking at the pro 223 and forged 923, but they are 800 more expensive, and i just hit the zx7 mk2 today and it felt just as good and out of the middle they were amazing, so i may be a Srixon boy soon
I play Srixon 585s (predecessor of today's z5s). I love them for all the reasons you liked the z7s. Having said that, instead of moving to the Z7s as I've gotten better, I'm going to try Miura. We'll see.
I play z5 long irons and 7-p zx7 and they are by far the best irons on the market I have tested every iron and they are just incredible to hit, the sound is amazing, and the feel is insane
I want those irons! I'm still playing old Titleist DCI 762s. I'm thinking of a combo set with 4-6 Zx5, 7-PW Zx7s. I'm a former 10 hdc that due to a bad hip ballooned to 17. Hip replaced and looking to get back down.
About time Mr Finch, i've been waiting for you to do a vlog on the new ZX7 irons. I've just changed from very old and unforgiving nike irons(which got me down to a 2 hdcp) to a srixon combo set, Zx5 456, Zx7 7,8,9,pw. What can i say, game changing, even when not hitting it that good.
@@canefan17 i wanted more loft in the zx7s the shorter clubs 7,8,9,pw , soo i weaken the zx5 range, 6 iron -2 to 29° , 5 iron -1 to 25 and i just kept the 4 iron at 24°. better separation i think. I found that the zx5 6 iron flew way further than the zx7 7 iron.
@@canefan17 yeh that could work, depends on what ability you have and what your looking for. Even with the +1 you might find a gap between the zx7 8 iron and the zx5 7 iron. Those zx5's do fly like bullets. But its easy to play with them, test them out and change them later.
@@gavincharvey33 ya I’ll just test on course. Srixon just replied to me and send they don’t recommend bending them - that they created them to blend with each other. He did say it does happen every now and then where there is a gap though. Thanks.
I just got my custom fitting for irons. I purchased the Mizuno JPX 921 irons 5-PW with KBS taper stiff shafts and Golf Pride grips. My newest and most likely last set of irons. I go back on 6/19/2021 for a driver fitting. Also, Srixon was my BEST FIT in iron...but they are on back order. Srixon played better than the Mizuno. Trust me. Buttery feel.
I'm still bagging the z745s and let me tell you, I'm hitting way more greens than I have any business doing with how inconsistent my strikes are. They're also spinning nicely. On summer greens, my 8 iron is a hop and stop and I get backspin with the 9 and PW.
I have just had a iron fitting and these came out on top, I’m not a great long iron hitter so I’ve got the zx5’s in the 4/5/6 irons and the zx7’s in 8/9/pw/gw, found no real difference between them for me but just went for extra forgiveness in the long irons, can’t wait to I get these,
I've had Srixon in the bag since the 745's came out a few years back. Loved the 745 irons. The 765 and 785 lines were kind of 'meh'. The ZX7 irons are hands down my favorite feeling irons I've ever had in the bag. The V-sole is 100% what sold me on these way back and I'm so glad that Srixon has just made minor tweaks to these irons. Don't love the way the ZX7 look, per se, but they feel amazing and flat out perform so I can get past it.
I got the i95 Steelfibers in Stiff absolutely in love, was using KBS C-taper 130 X-stiff but these feel just as stiff but way better feel and lighter. Hitting the 7 iron 180 yards with Ben Hogan PTX feels like pure butter. My handicap is garbage I am a shot maker not a scorer.
I have 3 sets in 3 different areas to avoid carrying them around. Z565, then ZX 5/7 combo, then ZX 5 all paired with the Cleveland wedges. Now, i am thinking of replacing my Z565 w the ZX 7 MK II. Great irons.
We all need more Pete in our lives. As far as Srixon clubs. I’ve always been keen to the fairway woods. Like to keep a 7 and 9 woods in my old mans bag.
There is an actual muscle back Z blade with no cavity at all, these here remind me of a tour cavity back iron more. Like the looks of these Srixon irons, and you played quite well with these, Peter! A mixed set can be built, as some tour pros have done, I'm way late here but Brooks signed with Srixon and also has the Srixon driver in the bag. Still uses a Nike Vapor tour 3 iron for a long range hybridish thing, no Srixon Z 2 iron crusher. Being this is December Brooks played The Match against Bryson, the irons were solid the driver not so much.
I do like the look of those irons; very nice lines to them I use an older model of Srixon myself; not their premium models perhaps but I do like them. Cheers
Hey everyone, I hope you are well ❤️

Just purchases a set of z565. S
Excited to try them out.
Love playing Srixon Z star golf balls. Like the looks of the Srixon irons. Have considered buying a Srixon driver. Current irons are Mizuno JPX900 forged. Great video.
I just reshafted a HZRDUS Black Handcraft into my Srixon ZX Utility 2 iron. I can sometimes hit it PAST my 3 wood. Its AMAZING
I play the zx5's and absolutely love them
Srixon player irons have had a unusual sole ground for a while, I loved the i-201 TC, way back when I was good enough to use them.
I used the i302 forged in the early 2000s. Loved them and played them until they fell apart. Nothing has come close since.
Recently went to Srixon demo day and fell in love with these irons and will be putting them in the bag
I have had a couple of sets of Srixons. Currently using z585's and I love them. Playing off 2 hcp
I know they’re older but I just put the Srixon z785 3-PW in the bag..been extremely happy with them so far
Always good looking and top quality irons! Love the ZX5 driver too
Absolute quality vid again not only mix content but still get infinite and slight tips
Ive got the ZX7 P-7 iron and ZX5 6-4 iron. Great irons. Switched from Titleist. No regrets. Great clubs.
i still play the 765s and willlll not take them out the bag until the grooves r gone. love them
Congrats on 400k Pete!
Cheers for pumping out so much positive content. Back in lockdown here in Australia, so these vids helping get me through another golf hiatus!
Lol sucks to be Victorian eh
I recently bought the ZX5s with KBS Tour 90 shafts. I like them a lot. Srixon definitely has something going here with their new irons.
I use to game the Srixon Z745 irons and they were great. Srixon irons, drivers and fairway woods are very underrated.
Srixon 765 is what I use and they are brilliant
I play Srixon 585s (predecessor of today's z5s). I love them for all the reasons you liked the z7s. Having said that, instead of moving to the Z7s as I've gotten better, I'm going to try Miura. We'll see.
I've been looking at the ZX5 Srixon Irons
Did you strengthen the loft on the Zx7s when you were blending?
@@canefan17 i wanted more loft in the zx7s the shorter clubs 7,8,9,pw , soo i weaken the zx5 range, 6 iron -2 to 29° , 5 iron -1 to 25 and i just kept the 4 iron at 24°. better separation i think. I found that the zx5 6 iron flew way further than the zx7 7 iron.
@@gavincharvey33 makes sense.
I was thinking about going Zx7 (8-PW) and Zx5 (5-7), and just making the Zx7s stronger by 1 degree.
Got fitted into combo ZX5/7 (4-6 ZX5) and I love them. Quite forgiving yet consistent
Did you strengthen the loft on the Zx7s when you were blending?
Great video had my zx7 for 6 months took me from 17 to 10.8 great clubs
I'm still bagging the z745s and let me tell you, I'm hitting way more greens than I have any business doing with how inconsistent my strikes are. They're also spinning nicely. On summer greens, my 8 iron is a hop and stop and I get backspin with the 9 and PW.
I just got fitted and these are the exact irons I got fitted to .
I’m handicap 5, and I play these ZX7 irons with SteelFiber shafts, and made them 2 degrees weaker. The feel and consistency is amazing
Srixon would be atop my list of irons to try if I were currently shopping. I have heard nothing but good things.
I do like the look of those irons; very nice lines to them
I use an older model of Srixon myself; not their premium models perhaps but I do like them.
Cheers
