Doesn't feel right the season ending on time for once, made the disappointing season feel less disappointing honestly. That being said it is a damn shame this "super season" was lackluster.

  • @midnightdoggo

The "super season" really was only super because it was short

For me what killed my enjoyment of SoT was Hourglass, and the fundamental issues with it. They took the two most requested curses and locked them behind a tedious PvP slog that is impossible for anyone who isn't a PvP sweat lord. The best way to fix Hourglass is to give XP for action like killing enemy players, damaging the enemy ship, repairing, bucketing, ect. This would reward you for fighting well and keeping your ship alive, as it is right now, if you lose, you might as well not have even tried. Sure, some people would cheese this, but people will find ways to cheese anything.

Safer seas is great , I always thought it was insane that you went straight from tutorial to being in the open world with a Galleon barreling straight for you before you even got your anchor up. And it'll be nice to fish or enjoy tall tales as well.

  • @LegendaryCollektor

    Safer Seas is wonderful for one big reason;

  • @AndrewOfPrussia

This feature "safe seas" is good for earning commendations in peace, for example that one for unlocking the frostbite cannons, use the ashen skull to burn 10 skeleton ships or doing events or simply learning the game. Not a bad update at all.

  • @Fargodeep

Guilds were designed for content creators, who have a cabal of regular players at their disposal. I don't want to invite randos to my guild, and nor does anyone else want to help level up a guild they could be kicked out of at any time.

I started playing in late December, so coming into the game very recently safer seas was an amazing way to learn how to play safely, I 100% love the addition of it. However, now that I’m not scared of other players and I have knowledge on the game, I pretty much never think I’ll touch it again

  • @GodDamnItsChris

Personally loving Safer Seas, and I say this as a pirate legend. My only gripe is not being allowed to captain a ship makes zero sense. Outside of that though I have no complaints.

  • @ItsTiesca

I welcome the addition of Safer Seas. Great for new players to get a feel. I mostly play on High Seas, but i do use Safer just to get some of the Tall Tales done uninterrupted. It really sucked to be a few hours deep and lose all your progression. Outside of tall tales though, i like to get in there and mix it up with other crews. thats what makes the game fun

I was screwing around on a rowboat the other day and happened upon a random skull of siren song chest. Didn't even think twice about it. Tossed it in my rowboat. Brought it over to the outpost along with all the other stuff I found there went to turn it in and realized it was still sealed. Somebody had dug it up and just left it sitting on the beach.

I'm someone who came back to SoT due to safer seas and friends and now we play back on the high seas since we were hitting the progression caps. I really think it works exactly as intended. It's great for fishing, commendations, tall tales and lazy play. But the heavy penalties are also a great way to make people not want to play it over high sea's for too long.

  • @infintebruh007

Safer seas is amazing. I can focus on commendations without getting jumped by sweats.

  • @ShadyThomas

about the skull of sirens, I have done like 10 and never had an encouter with other players. I was left completely alone across multiple servers. I am not doing it again unless a friend needs te rewards. The thing that killed imo is that it constantly spawns so there is no reason for players to go after it

  • @Granny_Smith

I do feel like safer seas is a great addition, I always hated tall tales but now I’ve been grinding them and it’s actually quite fun.

  • @ihavespoken5450

People crying about safer seas are just mad that 75% of players now use it to actually have fun

  • @wolfmirebacta8710

Guild should allow you to have 1 (and even then I feel there needs to be some kind of special thing) other friend ship join. It feels weird that they’re so small yet you can’t even guarantee that you’ll ever see each other. I understand why they don’t allow friends to join others on the seas as an entire friend server would basically defeat the point. But it would be nice if there was some way to have at least another ship, maybe only ever a sloop, join

  • @magicpyroninja

I don't think they actually made anybody happy with safer C's all the people that wanted it are complaining that they didn't go anywhere near far enough with it. They want completely separate servers that are 100% the same and nothing short of that is going to make them happy and a small percentage of those people would be happy if they drove all of the PVP people out of Sea of thieves all together because they think they don't need us

  • @roborob4296

everyone who was excited for safer seas quickly realized it was too restrictive because they were too daft to understand what they had already explained. so safer seas seemed hugely popular at the start hence it having a que.... they literally did nothing to fix the que they just waited out people realizing the mode is useless.

I like safer seas. I don't always use it but it's really nice to ha e when I just want to chill and dick around. I can finally learn the islands and maps and do tall tales without having g to worry about being stomped on.
