Rare looks at hunters call: "screw you in particular"
As long as they never make it easier to get Legendary Hunter. Change whatever else you want, Rare, but don't you dare make it easier because there truly is no greater grind in the game.
@@pdxcorgidadI agree
I think next season they’ll focus on it
@@pdxcorgidadIts already easy with 4 people. I got it done like that in 2 weeks, couple hours everyday
Blackcloud Wreckers be really annoying tho'.
I think for Quality of Life they should change the cosmetic equip menus. This is especially for weapons. There should be an option to select skins for your 4 weapons and a menu where you just select the weapons. This would make it easier for weapon swapping(since some people have too many skins).
Also loadouts with specific weapons equipment, vanity and clothes
@@nexus6090 oh Loadouts might be a better idea like setting up your own loadouts and costumes would be perfect with like slot progression
@@nexus6090 i'm baffled we dont have loadouts yet. Now if you want another look you gotta change like 20 different things... WHY NO OUTFITS LOADOUT WITH SO MANY OUTFITS AVAILABLE!??? 11 Seasons without it??? Seriously? I just settle for now and change it only once a month, since changing it for something i feel like today would be painful to waste another 10-15 minutes on, just to not like it next time i launch a game... Jeez. Tedious
Why do we still have walk-in closet sized weapons boxes and no cosmetic loadouts? It sounds extremely easy to implement...
Rare: That will be on Season 13, Season 12 we will increase Hunters Call reputation cap. :D
This is what I hate in a live content, they only release major updates every season.
This update just makes already long standing content feel fresh. Diving to a bounty voyage then getting slightly new loot and rebalanced values just makes it feel much better
I'm an older player (2017-18 era) that returned to the game when Safer Seas released since I can switch between High and Safer depending on the vibe I want. I'm enjoying the game, and the bit of the update I've played so far. I'm of the thought that the changes they've made for S11 are QoL for updates they have planned in the future.
I did find that the Sea Fort voyage is quite nerfed if you dive to it, rather than just sailing there (I just did a dive as a test, don't know why you'd dive to one since most of them are only a couple of minutes from an outpost). Instead of the 4 chests, 4 skulls, 4 merchant chests and the other misc loot you get (plus the locked room at the top), it's only 4 items from one of the factions and no extras, room or otherwise, at least that's what I've seen from mine and from a dude on reddit (I was level 44 for Order, his was 75 for Gold Hoarder). I got 4 skulls in mine, with 2 being higher value new ones, 2 being lower value. I def think it's that way to discourage diving all over the place, or maybe it has some weird scaling after you prestige the faction since me and someone 30 levels higher got the same loot value. Wonder if the other voyages are the same way? I'll have to test some.
Edit: After thinking it over, I now see why the rewards are likely lower. Since dives are meant to facilitate a drop-in drop-out style of play for those that don't have as much time and can onl play for less than an hour, the rewards are lower to likely stop abuse from the rest of the playerbase, like I thought above.
Bro gave an entire essay, I ain’t reading all that 😂
@@captainjet1stop pretending like you know how to read.
How did you play in 2017 if it came out in 2018??
I think this is the most substantial system update since Ships of Fortune. Was it needed right now for the game? No, but it certainly brings in some much wanted changes for me. I'm surprised about how many QoL features there are. Now I'm just hoping for the Flameheart Season (which might line up with the 6th anniversary).
That's a great way to put it!
I am honestly shocked any time I hear someone say they are sad ab the new quest system bc they enjoyed going to the specific faction to get the quest... Any time I did it, I clicked through as quickly as possible to get the quest I needed and then went back to my ship, it's not like I was engaging with the NPC in any meaningful way whatsoever.
Yeah nah some of these mf’s are tripping harddd
Some people like to get immersed and play the part but personally I like the new system
I certainly found it immersive when I was new to the game, but after 5 years it just became monotonous and boring.
For me, it's just the immersion rather than actually enjoying the dialogue
That makes sense@@AShinyRay
We need distinction rings to be useable with skeleton curse. 🤷🏼♂️
Hi chor long time no see
@@raider360X_sot Hi 👋🏻 😉
I think they could give us at least costume on lvl 100 and then separate parts for it on every other 100 or 50 lvl
I think lvl 100 does have a costume you can buy with each faction.
@@Treebeerdz Yes thats the point, they can give us costume on 100 and then its separate parts every 50 or 100 lvl
They hardly even do re-skins, man...
There's lots of reskins@@pyerack
As a day 1 player who hit legend chasing pigs. Rare needs to work on getting a cohesive vision for this games future. Its good but i felt the same years ago. Im just not sure they really know where they are going with it.
I think it's kinda clear?
They're trying to make things a bit easier for people who don't have hours and hours to sink into it by giving opportunities to jump straight into stuff.
@@thesun5275seems like a way to just get people to play that weren’t already. It’s almost like updates now are just UI changes and a few new skins. Nothing new or substantial.
@elijiahburgess5506 "a game trying to get a new fresher audience to join? Wowie" like yeah
It's an online game
What the fuck do you expect them to do?
They want to grow an audience, and good QoL features that can allow for more stuff in the future.
Anytime they have made something "substantial" like new world events only exist for a few weeks maybe a few months and then tapers off again. A game can't survive like that and they want to grow the audience.
@@thesun5275 true however a good way to keep people playing is to make the game stable and repayable. A UI change doesn't do much. but thats okay. we can disagree. im just so tired of what they have been doing.
@@elijiahburgess5506 It wasn't just a UI change. It is literally game changing. It makes so much easier to get into the action now and it means you don't have to spend time hunting down specific NPCs for quests. You can do it all from your table. That is just one step but it gives them so many more possibilities for the future. More events, even maybe opening up the possibility of multi-crew events.
They have been trying everything but nothing satisfies anyone. They add new events? It only brings in players for a few weeks or maybe a few months before people go back to whinging. This is the first big update that is actually revolutionary and it can allow for more in the future.
And again, they aren't out to keep people, they need to get more people in. THAT is why they are doing this. To entice more people in, people who may not be able to burn as much time in one setting as others who go on 5 hour long sailing trips. If you're really so tired then just quit man, idk what to tell you. Because nothing seems to be good enough for you people.
I think this is what the game needed. I’m in full support as no one has really the time to sail for hours
Yeah unless playing games is your job then all the sailing is a pain. Like me, I usually only get a few hours a week to play so with all the sailing I'm missing out on a bunch
That’s what makes it fun
I'm not even sure it saves much time at all, at least with the standard quests, since those sent you nearby anyway.
We had a blast today
Still waiting for it
It does take from the immersion, but the bite size dives are great. I got on before I got ready for work and put up Athena emissary, dove to a sea fortress and got like 3 Athena items, sold them and my rank 2 flag and went off to the ready for work. It brings the ability to do quick runs alongside my longer sessions thru the week
if nothing else it hurts the immersion a decent amount
Been playing some today, and the new update is actually fun! I think this update will revitalize interest from me for a long time.
The diving is just a shortcut to start your adventure. Sometimes voyages sent you FAR away. Now its not a 15 minute trip just to try and do things. Once you have loot or supply crates you don't wanna lose, diving becomes disincentivized.
I personally see this update as a framework upon which they can start building anew. The community is clamoring for new things to do, not just new ways to do the old things. Being able to add new things and have ready-to-go categories in which to drop them streamlines the process. I think season 12 we may see new things to do for all the factions. At least, I hope so.
The good thing about diving is you actually keep the supply crates, so you can buy a storage crate at an outpost, dive to a sea fort, loot barrels, then go to whatever you want with plenty of cannon balls and food
@@altitudeloki8032 New info, delicious
Didn't know there were actual insane maniacs out there doing the caged animal quests
Honestly i don't even know what else to expect from the game anymore for season 12. The past few season have completely changed the game fundamentally being the pvp system, opting into pvp, opting OUT of pvp, and now completely changing voyage and pve. They've hit pretty much everything there is to change about the game, I don't know what else they will do next other than brand new content or bringing back old content (arena)(reaper runs)(wall banging (LOL)).
quick swap, old hitmarker¬
They have big things planned for Season 12. I won't spoil anything right now, but let's just say they definitely listened to the community (coming from an Insider btw)
Having just jumped into SoT in the last couple weeks with my son I appreciate the focus on shorter yet rewarding sessions. Our time to play is usually limited to 2 hours at most. The next thing I'd love to see especially for players with captain ships is a form of persistent universe. Similar to star citizen!
The skelly pajamas do look fuckin badass. But the bucket stays on
bucket is the best
The bucket stays during voyages.
THE BUCKET STAYS ON DURING SEX
Bucket + Mask is going to be trollworthy
. Lol😂😂
I don’t think it was necessary persay, but it lets players jump right into the thick of things. It doesn’t remove sailing, but it makes getting to where you wanna go a much quicker and cleaner jump
I see this as a reorganization before going forward with new content. I think Rare has said as much. Certainly helpful for new players and part-time pirates. I have a feeling most long-time players will stick to a single server after jump-starting w a dive. Not sure, but I hope so. Not all interactions on SoT were aggressive and it feels like maybe this forces play to be more competitive. Not a bad thing per se. I would like to see some cooperative activities added. Glitterbeard comes to mind. Or coming to the rescue of your weakest alliance ship being picked off by sweats. The game has potential for creating atmosphere and unexpected moments. The idea of purposely making gameplay more "predictable" is weird.
The launch quests for gold hoarders was intentionally made bad when the gimped the high level quests to the point that they're on average worse than the noob quests.
about you cant dive if anyone is nearby. i just dived yesterday to ashen skeleton event, and i appeared right between TWO SHIPS already fighting. imagine how surprised i was?? imagine how surprised they were???
We shall see, but I feel like this actually encourages stacking as every time you dive you get thrown into a new server. Which means when you find a server that’s chill, you are more likely wanting to stay in it and not dive. Therefore you would stack to make the most of your time.
I might be only speaking for some very specific kinds of players, but ik some friends who have this mindset.
I am having so much fun with the emergent quests and all the new loot types. I feel like it’s exciting to explore the world again. My crew is willing to stop at shipwrecks for the first time in years! The updated emissary quests are also great.
if they need to update anything, its the crew finder, there needs to be options and preferences as to who you want to sail with .even if you could just choose an age range and play style it would be better for most players . It's a great game, but tbh it's not much fun solo, so finding the right crew is important.
I guess Discord is your "crew finder". Once you find people you like playing with, have them join a guild.
This is a small thing but the removal of voyages Kinda hurts my imersion a bit. Like the little chore of going to a vendor and buying a voyage, then setting it on the captains table made the game feel like you were there in a sense i can't place. But I know that now that the captains table is functionally a computer preloaded with all the voyages you can do, is a weird change and makes the game feel less immersive.
Yeah the game has become a menu simulator. Wanna get voyages? Go thru table menu. Wanna buy supplies? Go thru merchant menu. Wanna sail to the voyage area? Just fast travel. A dream game for kids with attention span of a fish.
@@orbit1894 genuinely, half of these "big updates" just seem to be "heres a menu that doesn't affect gameplay" like the insanely anti social guilds thag don't let you browse player guilds or join from ingame lol 😆
I agree the new UI takes you out of the game. They should've just made it a so that you open a book and skim through pages.
Sounds silly but it would've been much better.
@@pyerack yeah that'd be something, so you can atleast think "oh my player character gathered these voyages off screen and keeps them in a book"
The captains voyage slot on the ship being full was always a cool detail too. Now we just have "ships computer"
I was using the fast travel a lot for raid content, then realized when doing so it nerfs loot at the locations, I guess it's only for players who don't have a lot of time to play.
But you literally can’t sail to the raid voyages? So how would fast travelling nerf the loot?
Something ive learned about the dives i find interesting is while most treasure is lost there are some items not considered "treasure" that stay as you dive empty storage crates for example i finished my gameplay today with a ton of them cause something ive not seen mentioned is thay skeleton orders seem to have been changed to now ownly hold storage crates as well as the ashen key and chest voyages being outright removed
maybe if the last 3 seasons dropped as one for an actual "super season" this would be a welcome update.
Im okay with some of this, but the real question is did they remove my ship's little logbook, I love that thing :c
Yeah I’ve been thinking that recently. We’ve seen what the team can do in a year with Anniversary Update. They could have replicated it with all of this.
@apps9129 different team. Rare stopped working fulltime on this game when seasons were introduced. They have a small group of devs from rare working on it, along with 2 companies hired under rare to manage it
Dont worry the logbook is still there :3
you aren't alone when thinking the plunder pass was underwhelming, nearly every item is free and what the pass does offer is mediocre and few. I just started this past week so I really don't have much to go off of, but was kind of hyped for something pretty eh. I still got it copium
There is a ashen ghost fleet fight so yay
Good update. But, I'm really disappointed that they didn't add any rings to buy in the clothing store
Having played S11 now, the diving is handy when you're short of time. Which is very handy when you have non-gaming responsibilities.
The new loot for the standard voyages is now worth getting, and the emergent loot is pretty decent too.
Exactly what it needed to give busy parent gamers a better opportunity to get things done like me
As a new father this is the update of my dreams. This is my favorite game to play but with a baby I don’t have the time to invest like I used to. It was refreshing playing today and jumping straight into a world event and picking up some extra treasure on my way back to the outpost just in time for the little one’s nap to finish.
🎉 congratulations. I'm 27 with a baby due in August I'm going to be a dad. Ik so less stressed that this is update gaming seems possible now 😆 o
This was my experience today as well, dove to a few sea forts on behalf of athena for just a little extra rep and gold and sold just in time to have to take off. When I have more time I'll be checking out all the new loot and voyages and such but so far it's perfect.
I'm hoping that the new systems are also being used as a framework to make adding new voyages and stuff easier for them down the road.
I work a bunch and only have a limited time to play so this update helps me out. I used to play since release with pals but took a few years off. Glad to get back into it
They need a better system to sell loot (instead of the pleb Safer Seas way). Really like the Sovereign in High Seas, but they need something like this for Safer Seas (getting tired having to 'leap frog' loot over to the correct traders).
Give something better for soloers. We're people too.
I’m just happy we’re still getting updates 😎
It's worth noting that diving reduces the loot rather significantly, so best to use it to get into the action faster.
Really enjoying this update, think they nailed it with balancing the dives
I liked the talking to representatives and actually sailing this update should be called the "No life no attention span update" not season 11 Also it was nice to stack chest of fortunes :(
I dont like this update
Deleted all my rare quest
Short and predictable missions
Randomness of the voyages is gone
Hopefully they fix all the bugs that still seem to be around like freezing kicking you out of the server mid game and the slow slow respawn to and from the ferry of the damned, hoping the new update won’t cause more of these problems then fixes, also the skelly galleon update hopefully makes the battle less glitchy I’ve put multiple barrels and crates of cannonballs into them for no result like 100s it’s like fighting the u.s.s Wisconsin
And just turn the maiden voyage into the introduction and getting used to the game, plz turn safer seas into a better mode cuz it definitely didn’t wow for long, love the game but it has more potential
I loved this review. Not too harsh, but very fair. You made me feel better about the removal of needing to talk to a trade company to get your voyage
Hourglass has been out for a year and this is the first set of cosmetics that have been added since.
Someone should tell rare that they don't need to work on an anticheat for HG cause they already killed it.
I think people are way too focused on immersion in a cartoony ass pirate game with Janky movement and nonsensical mechanics “ oh, no, my immersion is broken because I can’t waste time sailing to the first island on my voyage, or the fact that I don’t have to walk around a bunch of different silent NPC‘s to get my quest”
I'm all for speeding up redundant processes in this game, but I much rather want thievery to get more love from the devs. A new weapon, grappling hooks to swing from... something exciting, you know?
Hourglass banished the Thieves into their own little game mode.
Season 11 removed the Sea, as we just dive to any island.
Yup, game has lost its identity.
Wow that sucks now I can just unistall this after 5 years...season 11 makes more room on your hard drive
This is styraight from the update notes:
At the same time, the Trading Companies have undergone a major expansion to allow even established players to continue progressing with their Company of choice, as reputation now increases up to level 100 for all Companies apart from The Hunter’s Call. Reach that momentous milestone and you’ll earn one of five new Distinctions, resetting your reputation with that Company while unlocking a prestigious Distinction Ring for your pirate to wear!
I love sea of thieves, I really do. But I hate that most seasons are just plain ass cosmetics with 0 gameplay or game value, this one being a mix of both. During this past 4 years of playing the mayor updates have been, underwater islands, save personalized ship, one-in-all representative, the prison island and this season fast travel. Because let's face it, the tales are just guiderailed/themeparked quests with the existing mechanics, even if their narratives are interesting . What is true is that now is the best time to play the game as a newcomer. Hopefully I can regain the spark
Hey mr shinyray, today i was sailing in shipwreck bay, and im the bay next to the rock with the ammo chest, there seems to be a crater that Spawns smoke, dont think its a visual glitch as revisited twice in different servers, i just thought it may be hinting to flamehearts return, as the burning blade is being rebuilt there.
You can get the new king tier items from random bottle missions and on sunken ships
Im LOVING the costumes for the companies
It feels like the last few seasons have been very focused on overhauling the core systems of the game, making it more casual friendly and accessible which I think is great. I'm hoping all of this is them preparing for a big release, the rumored PlayStation release would be a great influx of new players and the perfect time to finally start the content release cycle again.
finally someone admits that the sea bound soul had the best title screen, i also liked the heart of fire too.
Glad to see they’ve added some new options for skeleton cosmetics! I know it’s never gonna happen, but I’d love a rework where skeletons replace your character model and you can still wear whatever clothing you want. Seems a bit strange the ghost curse lets you still have all of your cosmetics, but the skeleton does not.
i saw a patch note called
Improved Hit Markers
. Players now have further control over the hit markers shown when striking targets with a projectile weapon. The game settings now enable switching from the existing client-predicted markers to server-confirmed markers, which only display hits confirmed directly by the server for improved accuracy.
i really thought that it was going to be an option to have the old one back and now i am sad
its still decent tho. It should fix the issue of hitreg hitmarkers, but obviously not fix the issue of shots not hitting if they should. It could however cause delay between the marker being displayed and the shot actually hitting.
no its that it looks ugly
Got you with the bait and switch
Is your Athena rep suppose to go down when u complete a duel with an ashen lord as an Athena emissary?
I am very happy about the diving changes because I love this game so much but it’s very hard to commit so many hours to sailing every single time we play
My only question is how is this going to work if somebody's got to say a guild flag up what would we get then is it just going to be a random spread or is it going to behave like it did before
This update is so good! It’s always the initial sailing that kept me away because I have a limited time to play.
I farmed a single fort for a while and when I waited for it to reset I was parked behind a rock at map corner and went pee and I came back to inactive kick, lost ALOT of money
Good update but I'm missing the romance of the story telling that buying voyages and collecting the merchant crates bought
This update is amazing for the emmisary hunters and thanks for giving my crew a good fight on hg brig man!
I think your final statement encapsulates perfectly what I think of it personally. I hope we get something good for Season 12, but fortunately this current season will suffice.
Love the spyro music.
This update just fortify the theory of adding PlayStation players. Simplify UI and more forgiving experience to provide easier gameplay for "future" newcomers.
I don't think the regular factions suffer from the same issues as hourglass because they'll be getting progress passively for just playing the game normally. Hourglass requires you go out of your way to do it
Thank rare for new skelly cosmetics, although I’m yet to unlock the curse, I’ve been wanting the reaper costume as a skeleton set since season 8. Thank you rare.
This was really good as it made it so sessions can be faster and be easier
It is good that I can approach my friends to play this game without having to ask for an entire afternoon just trying to get to a place.
Now work on selling and actually bring the loot off and on the ship. Takes literally hours to get anything sold and moved from one place to another
The QoL is good, but I still feel we need the voyages to have more variance in what happens. And some of the world events to have more stuff. Like the Meg should have more then just 1 attack.
Happy we got the skeleton cosmetics. Disappointed it didn’t come with a hood. Hopefully we will get a hooded mask one day
honestly i think this is one of the best updates they've done in a bit, it just makes the game more appealing and less of a time sink if you don't wanna do a 6 hour session
As a somewhat new player (started last season) this update did make me want to play more in the High Seas. Being able to cut down the travel time to start a quest is nice.
I would suggest ways to reincentivize the hourglass to draw in more players. I tried it with some veterans in my Guild and we got ganked in less than 30 seconds each time for about an hour. It's super cool and exciting but needs something to smooth out the experience so it doesn't feel as frustrating. Skill issues be damned, being able to invade someone's world like dark souls is sick as hell.
The raids on sea forts and shrines are abject failures in my opinion. I love doing shrines and treasuries, stacking them, raise an emissary then level up that emissary by collecting all the loot from the mermaids right before selling. It's a safe and reliable way to make money. In Season 11, I dived to a sea fort, no kegs, no loot in the cache, no small items to find in wardrobes, got 3 pieces of loot in the locked room and an empty chest to carry them with. I then dived to a shrine, there was no loot throughout the shrine, found a single chest at the end with 2000 gold inside, no other loot. It felt like I was being trolled. Ashen Lord gives about the same amount (not worth it), skull fort and skeleton lord fight gave a reasonable amount of loot.
The developer straight up said it is not fast travel. When you dive, you actually go to another server that has a event available.
My only real problem with the diving aspect is that I can't find any in game reason for it to be possible lore wise. Like it'd make sense for players to have to buy or unlock something that would allow the ships to dive but for the pirates to breathe underwater as well. Maybe like a brother artifact to the shroudbreaker tied to the ship or something. If someone does know the lore reason this is possible please do let me know.
So, I’m completely onboard with the idea of fast travel and much of the changes added recently.
However, I’m concerned this has killed loot stacking for players who PvP and occasionally might hit gold mines every few nights..
At times yesterday, we felt the most efficient option was to sell what we had and dive to a raid or immediate voyage.. prior to the update, we would loot stack for 4 or 5 continuous hours before turning in.. but now that feels unnecessary as diving gives us more opportunity.
I feel there needs to be a consistent punishment for diving to encourage loot stacking. Resetting grade 5 flags to 1 or something.. therefore it’s a larger commitment to join a new server and this doesn’t just become a loot, sell, dive repeat situation.
Im just happy we got some new skeleton parts
The reputation cap went up to 500??? Oh I love that
The music is amazing
Rare didnt add the map table lag switch to patch notes lol
as somebody that was grinding animal/gunpowder merchant qeusts: this update pisses me off as the limit seems 4 animals instead of to like freaking 9 with kegs possibly being in tow too
3:20 You hit the nail on the head. Yes, I'll admit it, sailing in the game is very involved, and for larger ships if the whole crew isn't cooperating with each other, it's slow and extremely tedious, but that's part of why it's the best pirate game out there. You are an ACTUAL PIRATE on an ACTUAL SHIP on an ACTUAL SEA and if your crew isn't interested in helping raise the anchor or angling the sails, you're bound to give up your treasure to a pirate crew more cohesive than yours. The Sovereigns in some ways were a welcome addition, especially for solo players who were punished with lower defensive capabilities and longer vulnerable times when selling at outposts, but Rare implemented them all wrong. (Selling to Sovereigns shouldn't give milestones for selling to other companies since you're NOT selling to other companies, and the choice to sell to a company that's been teased to be a future enemy should be completely opt-in, not have massive incentive ; on that note, why don't Guild emissaries just get a flat bonus for all loot handed in to company reps instead of just Sovereigns?)
The harpoon changes were pretty egregious for me, as now they're less reliable (loot sticking to the harpoon is a disturbance now and a pretty common one at that) and involve less shipmate cooperation, and this update that makes part of sailing optional is pretty awful too.
We sail because it's how you get to treasure, and on the way you get up to hijinks with your crew, drinking way too much grog, locking one another in the brig and playing music below the deck with the detainee, unhooking the harpoon rowboat and surfing along the ship with it, cooking food, chastizing your crewmates for burning the food when you're the one who cooked it, showing off your titles and cosmetics and curse, relaying stories. If Rare wanted to make it less slow and boring they could've added duel / fisticuff mechanics, or maybe added a way to do basic dice games. When sailing is made optional... Why bother doing it? It's literally only detrimental in every metric, except crew bonding, which isn't measurable.
Bad move from Rare on that feature, though I understand wanting to appeal to people who can't play daily 4 hour sessions
I hope we can get some metrics on how much people will end up diving then selling then diving then selling over and over again vs people who dive once then stack for awhile then dive again maybe to do a specific world event or something.
I love the sailing but I’m also optimistic about being able to jumpstart my session and THEN sail around finding different things and doing different events.
@@jamesconnolly849 But the game already accommodated quests to start close to you... Apart from Tall Tales (sailing to which is highly immersive), when you start a quest, you'll get something to do at WORST two islands over. I was at 150 voyages completed with GH, about 100 with the two other companies, and I don't remember one voyage having me sail to another region to start it.
All I hear is someone crying like a pussy because the game got some much needed qol and you cant brag about being a sweat anymore.
Jeez go touch grass pal.
I really like this update. As a casual player I don't always have time for long sessions, so being able to quickly get into a voyage is a huge help! I get that it kind of removes some of the immersiveness, but for me personally, I don't really care as long as I now actually have time to play the game
This (and for the most part the other major changes from the past year and a half) is a positive thing for sot but the main “issue” that makes it not enough to fully pull me back into the game is just that almost everything added for the past 4 seasons has been basically “a new UI-based progression system” and nothing really new. I completed almost all of my commendations and achievements pre season 7 so I don’t see much appeal in coming back to regrind the content I already grinded for 1000+ hours.
Ever since the update I haven’t been able to find how to do the Athena’s run of thieves haven quest, Larissa doesn’t have it anymore neither does the Athena quest table
It’s gone now
I agree with your sentiment at 3:30 but i get downvoted to oblivion on the reddit. The revolving door of gamepass and diabled players is a massive bleeding heart.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious that there's the revolving playerbase and core players. Rare will go after money or the servers will be shut off
People been speculating that season 9 threw 11 were to prepare for sea of theives to be coming to Playstation and the switch. Hence why these changes were being made.
are rings available on skeleton curse ?
The loot is...weird. I went to a sea fort at the start of my game as usual for supplies and I only found 4 pieces of loot in the place. 2 sailor's chests and a couple of chalices ( I was GH emissary, level 75). Nothing at all in the upstairs room. Yes, these items sell well but only 4 loot?
Less back and forth I guess.
I did a sea fort while sailing for the order of souls and to my shock there was only 4 pieces of loot too, All there was was gold pouches
It basically makes Repeat Offender impossible to achieve now unless they either change it or you aren't flying an emissary flag
I dove as an Athena Emissary to a fort and same thing only 4 loot? 1 of which was not Athena loot but gold hoarder loot. I wonder if they nerfed how much loot was there so that people didnt complete one and immediately dive to another just to hit grade 5 faster.
I think the full loot levels are unlocked at 100
If you want to get normal loot in forts you have to go there without a quest for it. It will be ass otherwise
The froggy lantern is officially the best lantern ever!
100 levels for a tiny ring with nothing in-between sucks but the drive feels pretty decent so far!
I didn't hate sailing in the pirate game. I just might only have an hour to play and spend 10 of it prepping the ship and another 10 sailing halfway across the map just to start a voyage. It got to the point it wasn't really even worth playing if I didn't have at least 2 hours to spend.
season 12 we play adventures I hope that didn't forgotten about it they have forgotten one contact featured that's supposed to come out buy allegiance.
This is the BEST update they’ve ever released. By far. More loot from faster starting for everyone means more fun for EVERYONE.
I mean it's an alright update but like I wouldn't say it's the best 😂. Didn't actually add any new content to actually play
Jack Sparrow has entered the chat.
@@Robot-oh3et No content, but it will directly help with the massive issue of a divided playerbase. The game has been wildly unfair to players who enjoy PvE, despite PvE players being the reason anyone has any loot to steal in the first place. The issue is that PvE takes waaaay too much of a time investment to pay off, all risk for no reward. Meanwhile for PvP all you need is a fresh ship, all reward no risk.
Before anyone says this is "Duhh a pirate game", the image the devs planned was for BOTH ships to have something to defend AND gain. Originally intending BOTH ships to have loot from fun PvE experiences and then make the risk for reward to attack a player.
Now that the initial investment of time is being addressed where it can be, the playerbase might finally even out a little more since PvE will be more approachable. If not, then PvE players might at least be able to salvage their sessions so they can at least log out having made a small profit.
i have a question. when i dived in the sea to raid a sea fortress there was nothing in the room on the roof and in the basemant where only 3 chesten.
is there a bug or something. because after that i sailed to another sea fortress normally and there was everything normal.
almost forgot it when i dived to a ashen lord. when i defeated it it only dropped his skull and 1chest and 2 artefacts.
