What are some PS VITA HIDDEN GEMS you recommend? 💎
alllll ooof theeeeeeem
Phantasy Star Nova is great. Japan exclusive but widely available.
kono subarashii sekai ni syukufuku- wo: ATTACK OF THE DESTROYER.
So many hidden gems on the Vita. Been recently playing a great little 2D platformer puzzle game called A-Men by Bloober Team. Unlike the PS3 version it has ad-hoc multiplayer. Also Rocketbirds Hard Boiled Chicken and its sequel are both truly fantastic platformer/shooters with great soundtracks and a decent/hilarious story.
SHINOBIDO 2
The ps vita is a hidden gem itself haha!
I know, right? 👍
So hidden they dont make em anymore 😢
FACTS !!!
Metal Jesus is a Hidden Gem of UA-cam

Imagine being in a forest and a forest sage shows up out of nowhere to give you advice for the PS Vita
LOL
The nice thing about Vita these days is that, unlike the 3DS, the online store is still supported. Every now and then I'll power the old thing back on and discover some new games that I missed back in its heyday. Back then it really felt like the Vita didn't have a lot going for it, but nowadays I'm really surprised by how many great, unique games exist for it!
Most people are surprised to learn that there are about 1,500 games released worldwide for the Vita (that's digital and physical), so there is PLENTY to enjoy on the handheld.
so the store is still online?
@@gz1976 Man I really hope that no one answers this stupid question. 🤡 Can you not read and comprehend 🤪? Wow like, you really can't have to much intellect, literally are asking a question that was answered. What a clown

99 Vidas its a huge retrogame podcast here in Brazil, its focused on themes about nostalgia of 80'/90'/2000. Love to see a game like these here.
My wife is from São Paulo and that is where the headquarters are for that developer. I thought it was pretty cool. Next time I go I wanna try and go check it out! Lol
I think it's so cool that youtuber Izzy Nobre is featured in it. Dude makes great content.
@@MetalJody1990 he was one of the founders of the project, working there for almost a decade. A great Guy for sure.
this is just scott pilgrim if they were a psvita owner
Hi MJR, I've been a long-time fan of your channel, and I want to thank you for all the wonderful entertainment you've provided. I'm not ashamed to admit that I often fall asleep to videos of you and Reggie's game pickups. I don't earn much, being from a third-world country, so I can't afford Patreon, but I will occasionally send Super Thanks to show my appreciation for your videos. Keep rocking!
Wow, thank you! It's funny because I often hear about people who just run a playlist of my videos while working or sleeping in the background and it's super cool. One of these days I would love to visit South Asia. Have a great weekend and thank you for the $5 👍
I'm on the same boat!
Your content is like a podcast.
Easy listening and fun 🤘
pretty sus falling asleep to another man named reggie's voice.

I got a Vita around mid last year and have been watching any and all metal Jesus vids that relate to it for hidden gems and all that kind of goodness. When I need it the most MJR supplies yet another gem of a vid, my wallet hates you but my collection adores you! Thank you!!
Best portable console. Perfect for travelling. Perfect fit for pockets. Keep making videos on the PS-Vita MJR. I love when you post videos on the Vita. Brings much needed awareness to games and the console itself. The more talk about the Vita, the better the chances Sony comes back to the Handheld market.
They were able to make a full Uncharted experience on a small handheld. I would love to see a handheld with Spider-Man 2 that’s much smaller than a Steam Deck.
Game recommendations (For anyone who owns a Vita):
- In the slightly more obscure games I have on the Vita I would recommend Titan Souls, Stealth Inc. and Oboro Muramasa: The Demon Blade Rebirth (and other VanillaWare games)
- PS1 games (Metal Gear Solid 1 and Silent Hill 1 are possible on Vita but require a PS3 to download from) like Rayman, Pac-Man World, Mega Man games (including Legends 1,2 and Misadventures of Tron Bonne), Chrono Trigger (DS cutscenes)
- PSP Classics such as Loco Roco (3 games)
- Gravity Rush is still so underrated (in my top 30 games)
- Tearaway
- Little Big Planet PS Vita
- Hotline Miami
- Every Persona games (1, 2 I.S., 2 E.P., 3P, 4G, 4Dancing)
- Metal Gear Solid 2-3 Collection
- Need for Speed Most Wanted
- Danganronpa (4 games)
- Fez
- Undertale
- Shovel Knight (complete)
- Limbo
- Spelunky
- Stardew Valley
- Terraria
- Minecraft
- Super Meat Boy
- PS2 game collections (Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter (5 games), God of War I and II, Etc.)
- Salt and Sanctuary
- Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
- Every Rayman game
- Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz (exclusive (one of the few good games in the series))
- Bastion
- Killzone: Mercenary
- Child of Light
- Zero Escape: The nonary games (includes: 999 and Virtues Last Reward)
- Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
- Velocity 2X (2 other velocity games available)
- Super Stardust Delta
- and so on..
I am pretty passionate (as you can probably tell 😅) about this console and hope this list can help people find games they might find interesting.
Rock on everyone 🤘!
Didn’t you hear? Sony is coming out with a new handheld! It is based on the Switch and will only play games you download from your PS5!! Wow! Wowee wow wow wtf?!?🙄 That’s not the kind of handheld we want Sony!
Brazil and 99 Vidas mentioned, uhuuu.
Is a game made by crowding founding, is based on a Podcast of games here about nostalgic game called 99 Vidas, and bring a lot of the 90's references to Latin America gamers.
I didn't know that! Thanks 👍
Hey Jason. I just got back from Japan for my honeymoon and was able to navigate Akihabara with your videos as guides. My newly wed wife was absolutely thrilled to be dragged around retro game stores for a full day! ;D Inspired by your red color variant vita find, I picked myself up an aqua blue Vita along the way, so I look forward to watching this video! Thanks for the content dude, been a viewer for about a decade!
I can't wait to go back to Japan as well. So many games, so little time. Have a great weekend dude! 🤘
@@MetalJesusRocks tell me about it! I thought it was a good idea to pick up a complete in box Sega Saturn on my second day in to a 14 day trip. Won’t make that mistake again… take care buddy! Hope you make it out there again one day soon.
Congratulations on be newly weds❤🎉❤
More hidden gems for the vita!? I’m ready!
REGGGGGIE!! Miss ya buddy. We need to hang soon.
There is something really special about the Vita. The games were good, the OLED screen very good for the time, it’s the perfect handheld size unlike my bulky Switch OLED. And I love the fact that I could leave it in sleep mode for weeks without it losing any power. My Switch gets almost completely drained in a few days of sleep so I have to power it off completely. There is also something about the graphics of Vita games that I love. Even when the games are ported to the PS4 or other consoles and get 1080p or 4k remasters they have a certain style. A certain feel. Almost like they are ultra crisp versions of old school Ps2 graphics.
Wow this is a throwback Metal Jesus video on location, glad that creepy guy wasn't staring you down while going through the games this time!
I like the nature shots mixed with the video game shots. It switches up between organic and electronic. Nice editing! Great video as always. So many games to play, so little time!
Thanks a ton!
Hi Jason, Just wanting to send a massive thank you to you and all the amazing people who you have introduced to us to here on your channel. I'm another long time fan over here in the UK (possibly around 7-8 years?!?!?) and I wanted you to know that I still look forward to your videos every Saturday morning on my day off. Thank you for everything you do and know that you're bringing joy to game collectors Worldwide. Sending all of you supermassive metal good vibes from the UK, PEW PEW PEEEEW. There they go! If you all look out of the window in roughly 6 hours, you'll be able to catch the vibes, slap them into your consoles and play the game of appreciation and gratitude direct from the UK across the pond. (If the vibes don't work the first time, take them out of your consoles, blow on them, then slap them back in there and press start) Big love from one of your many appreciative fans.
TxK by Jeff Minter. Best Tempest game ever. Highly rated but nobody talks about it which is insane to me! It was only available digitally. Also a Vita exclusive!
I have 190 physical Vita games but play TxK most often. A true Gem!
And it sounds juicy!
Also looks absolutely amazing on the OLED screen
I agree! On the OLED it looks incredible
Best Tempest EVER!
Great video as always! I get so excited when I see you upload MetalJesus! Personally my favorite VITA gem is Oddworld Munch's Odyssey.
I love anything about the vita. I'm definitely picking some of these up. Thanks metal Jesus 🤟
I’ve been binge watching all your vita videos and you come out with this to 🙌🏼🙌🏼 bought one and it’s coming Saturday:)
Oh really!? You're going to love the Vita! Very underrated.
a game that i loved on vita and rarely hear people talk about is super time force, it's a cool side scroll shooter style contra with a rewind mechanic. The story is awesome and really funny with many different character to choose from and offer different playing style.
99 vidas ❤ is an awesome podcast about nostalgia games in Brazil!
Obviously for foreigners some of the visual jokes and easter eggs don't works, bc it takes place in the 90s brazilian childhood,
And the characters are the hosts of the podcast
All these background aside, its a really cool game and it's on almost all platforms, ps xbox and switch too
You're gonna hit 1M soon!!!! I am so glad that you're still around, I love your content bro. Keep up all the great work. 🤘
You haven’t put out a hidden gems video in a long time, glad to see it back!
Just want to say how much I enjoy and appreciate your enthusiasm for PlayStation handhelds. I don't think there are very many gaming content creators who celebrate the PSP and Vita like you do (and I say this as a Nintendo guy who has only a PS Vita TV, not the actual handheld). Keep 'em coming, and I cannot WAIT to see the upcoming video: "My PSP Collection is Complete!"
You mentioned 99 vidas. A brazilian game. Thank you. We love your videos here.
Greetings from Brazil.
Thanks for watching!
Just like i thought. The wave of brazilian attention whore comments has started. It must be so disgraceful to be thirdie and to seek this much attention on the internet. I wonder how be if all Americans would to be commenting every time people talk about american thing online. LOL
Thanks dude great video! Ive just recently purchased my first Vita and i absolutely LOVE it ! Already picked up some decent games. Resogun is one of my fave shmups and to play it on the go is simply amazing.
LOOKING SHARP MJR! LOVE YOU, LOVE your work and LOVE PSVITA!!
Ok this came out of nowhere and i absolutly love every second of it!
Looks good mate , thanks for the video. Will check them out
Awesome video!! The Vita was so ahead of its time. So glad I built up the collection I have already because I barely see any games out at retro game stores.
Same here! Although next time I go to Japan I'll carry a list of games to snag.
Easily my favorite channel right now. Nothing as chill as hangin out on the sofa and watching a MetalJesus video.
Wow, thanks!
I just picked all of these games up! Looking forward to your next Vita video!
This is a AWESOME list! Thank you for the vita content
99 Vitas is such a great game! It has a streets of rage vibe to it. Awesome video as always!
Resogun looks so cool! Thanks for making these videos Jason! You’re the reason I bought a vita last year and it’s since easily become my all time favorite handheld. 😃
Glad you like them!
Fun video! Been playing on my Vita a lot recently (:
I have a 1000 on official firmware & 2000 that’s hacked.
So fun playing all these games that I wouldn’t play before.
But I’m still collecting physical games (:
Been waiting for this! Finally got a vita and only got 8 games on my wishlist, this will surely add more!
Those outdoors video always bring something more, you're the man
I like getting out of the house and filming in locations like this. It helps I now have wireless R0DE microphones.
Chasm got a physical release and I was lucky enough to grab one. They also updated the game so that you can play as different classes (melee, magic, etc.). It's one of my favorite games on the system.
Love ya my man! Never tried the PS Vita so this was a fun one. Thank you big guy!
Glad you enjoyed!
damn man!!! these are some really good and really "hidden" gems, i was kinda tired of whatching these kind of lists that had always the same games. But i cant believe i managed to miss some of the bangers you mentioned here
You know it’s a good day when there’s a new MJR video up! Always love your content, man.
I appreciate that!
Really like how you did the intro outside nice little change
Long time fan
Cheers from ca.
so pleased to see 99Vidas make the list. such a great game ideal for handheld. Also, thx for the heads up on Chameleon Spy, may have to snag it before they ok the ps3/ it’s store soon
Thank you for talking about Spy Chameleon. I was in love when i discovered the game. The soundtrack is so good ! It reminds me of the first Driver soundtrack style back on the Playstation 1 !
Glad you enjoy it!
hey man, love your stuff. Keep being you.
Thanks, will do!
Glad to see more Vita love!
Awesome finds J .
I look forward to your next little chapter .
Any thoughts on a 3do best of pretty please 🕹️👍🏻
VERY cool to see the Chaos games on here. I loved playing the on my iPhone 4S along with Infinity Blade.
I've been an avid Vita fan for the last decade and honestly I've only heard of one of these games. Well played sir. I'm gonna have to check some out.
Just recently got into the ps vita and honestly I love it, I play it more then may switch lite , thanks for the vids
Aye u almost to 1mil bro congrats
Pretty sure I’m the only one playing the vita in Oregon. When I go to the gaming stores and ask to see the Vita section, they’re like: “Are you sure?” (Playing Toukiden now, just beat MGS HD Collection, even finished the original MG 1 & 2 on MSX)
Wow what a game REsoGun is thanks for the great videos..
Such a nice heading! I want more 🤩
Love the vita great video really useful for our collections 😁
Glad it was helpful!
Soul Sacrifice Delta is the best hunting game ever made, and you CAN'T change my mind
Love Resogun. Picked that up on a sale after learning of Housemarque from playing Returnal. Such a fun little shooter. Not sure it's a hidden gem necessarily, but Gravity Rush is a fantastic one. A little pricey and might be tough to find CIB, but a really good game. And the Hotline Miami series is fabulous if you don't mind a gritty, vulgar, tough as nails top down with a banging soundtrack.
Good video, Spy Chameleon is a pretty fun game.
That video done on your recent trip? Backdrop is beautiful
Great list of Vita games. Good reviews and cool video MJR!👉😃👈
Glad you like them!
@@MetalJesusRocks 👍
MJR”s jrpg phrase is something I am here for !!🎉
you just gave me a reason to buy a vita what an awesome video im a huge fan of side scrolling games similar to rastan
I love the Punisher beat em up in the intro
Nice it will be added to my game collection
Love Vita
Great video! I have the hatsune miku vita and I love it. Please do more videos on vita games
Hey jeez I'm early to this video I just got back into collecting for the ps vita a verry underrated portable console for sure
This video made me start up my old oled Vita for the first time in 5+ years!
Great video of some great game
Thanks buddy! Have a great weekend. 👍
I don’t even own a Vita, but I still didn’t hesitate to click on this video. I always enjoy your videos MJR 👍🏽
I appreciate that
Thanks MJ!!
vita is LIFE.
Currently on the hunt for FFX and MGS Hd myself. Prefer the form factor over the switch in many cases!
You rock Metal Jesus!
99 vidas is from Brazilian podcast. Is a nice game ended
Hey MJR, you should come up to Canada for some awesome game shops. Toronto and Montreal have some really unique / cool places that i think you would love.
I would love to explore Canada more. Only been to Vancouver BC (which I love).
I have so many unopened Vita games. I discovered it & the PSP well after they were discontinued, but love them. They are among my favourite handhelds.
Which titles?
@@SonyEnthusiast Borderlands 2, Velocity, Axium Verge Multiverse Edition, Skull Pirates Limited Edition, Awesome Pea Collection, Task Force Kampus, Lost Cube, Pachi Pachi, Habroxia 2, Nicole LE, Root Double Xtend, War Theatre BOW, Sense, unMetal, Chasm to name a few. Mostly indy stuff.
Holy c***, while you've been on this trip, I was gonna message you and ask what games you were playing yourself on this trip, were your ears burning😂
i am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to see a hidden gems video from you! thank you!
I have Resogun on PS3, PS4, PS5 and Vita. One of my all time favourites.
Just bought a Vita this morning, this video could not have better timing!!
YES!! You'll love it.
I bought mine a few years ago before prices skyrocketed on ebay and I had no idea but it came jail broken which was a nice surprise
Ps Vita and MJR that s the combination I like for my Friday🤘
Nice one Keep it up👌
Thanks 😁
Off to the canary islands at the end of the week with my trusty vita along for the ride so this video couldn't be more interesting
I always forget I have a PS TV and I can play many of these. Must dust that old girl off!
All the footage in this video was captured on the PlayStation TV 👍
all I have been doing lately is worshipping Satan and playing Vita games my mom says I need to move out and get a job but I keep telling her I'm a stay at home son...but she keeps saying you are 40 she's so funny
Man I love your hidden gems vids, time to break out the Vita again
Aight... Digging the new intro! Happy Friday sir!
Appreciate it
I really wanted to love the Vita. I bought it thinking it was the breakthrough for a new level of handhelds, but looking back it's kind of the apex of the old guard. The switch was what I wanted the Vita to be, and the steam deck is what I actually wanted. Still a great handheld that I sunk many hours into!
Mod it if you haven’t already
Greetings from Poland! You always come up with something cool \m/
Hey, thanks!
I haven't seen anyone here mention VVVVVV. It has challenging platforming, lots of exploration, and a great soundtrack.
Another shoot em up I recommend is “Danny Phantom Urban Jungle “ on the DS. Its the same story as the show’s episode but in game form.
Great system that "went away" too soon. At least the retro market keeps it alive. Getting a Fantasy Zone vibe from the brocolli shooter!
Froubisher says was one of the free games that came with the PS Vita in the UK got a PSN download code for it. My nephew loved it one for the kids and a quick fun distraction for adults
Chaos rings was sooo fun on ipod touch loved it so much
I bought a PS vita yesterday its great seeing this video up online, I really like unit 13 I think its an underrated game !
finally, someone talks about airace speed. so addicting. 100 percented it on both vita and 3ds
Hey my friend, what's that rolling ball game that is shown at the end of the video??? I'm planning to buy a used PS Vita and always loved those 'Marble' type of games. Gracias!!!!
Duude, Air Race Speed is Epic!!
Thanks bro!=)
I think I might've found some games to hunt for my Vita down the line, especially for Spy Chameleon that looks pretty fire.
Nice recommendations man. Vulgar is my favorite!
