Hope this does well. I love Broken Sword. Hopefully 2 will be reforged one day as well.
the goat puzzle still haunts my dreams.... such a fun game!
One of the first games I saw on PlayStation. Didn’t get far then But loved it as a kid in the 1990s
😀
Played it on ps1 too. Got to the 🐐 in Ireland 😭
@@quadlius that goat stopped many in their tracks it seems 🤣
@@matthewwilliams3827 I recall getting stuck there and only getting past by the "cheat" printed in a magazine. I think the problem was that it was solved by timing moves and there was no indication that you could do that. There's a similar timing puzzle near the end in the desert cave where its game over if you fail
@@skyblazeeterno haha yeah, most people back then probably thought their game was bugged
My very first and favourite game that I played, I'm still waiting for remastered version...😊
This is a remastered version isn't it? Devs thought remastered sounded boring so named it reforged instead?
@@itsalways420_ exactly, and it's really good work!!!
This is a remaster dude. No need to wait anymore.
@@itsalways420_ probably so that players think it's a remake and not just a remaster, that's why it's so expensive without additional languages
@@itsalways420_ It's a play on words isn't it? Reforging a sword that was broken.
Can't wait to hear the OST with a much better quality.
I love how they've updated "The Sword of Baphomet" at St. Ninians. The extra detail and redesign has made it a lot more epic and sinister.
You know now that I have watched the whole 6 hours of gameplay and learned that it has 4 more sequels I can't wait to see all of the other broken sword games reforged or remastered now
You know, I just realized that I never watched No Commentary "Lets Plays" ,except this game. And here we are back after 10 years :D
Oooooj, thank you for doing this!! Hopefully this remaster is better than the previous one!
Probably one of my favourite games ever. I remember playing the demo on the PS1 demo disc when I bought the console.
I can't wait to get this on PS5 I remember playing this way back in the PS1 days of 96 🌟
I hope there's a physical release
I was worried that Revolution would have done an HD version of the Director's Cut. Thank f*** this isn't the case.
I would mind DLC content that includes it if I’m honest. Only played it on my mobile.
It is a great remaster! The only complaint I have is that the volume during the cinematics is not equalised to the volume settings you set.
@@AdventureVault Wouldn't hurt if they for one dusted off those three decades' old .ogg files for the dialogue while they were at it... you could cut the background noise from the recording booth with a knife. It just feels jarring this way.
Now i hope so, in order to making broken sword smoking mirror in 4k!
The reforged is a true remaster
Broken Sword is simply one of the best games ever
I would say the BEST
Nice to see this out, looks very faithful compared to the last remaster. Hope they announce parzival stone soon too.
@@Aggnog Indeed! We are all looking forward to a new Broken Sword, it's been long due :)
I hope they more or less go back to the character models of BS5. I actually liked the contrast between the hand-drawn, painterly backgrounds and the 3D digital characters, they also designed them in a way that was highly detailed without looking plasticky or cartoony.
Broken Sword is Goated Point and click game
I love this game i played the original many years ago and have it on my laptop, phone and DS ❤
Many years ago in the home of my master, Hamata Yoshi
Great game. Love the Hotel Ubu music (both tracks, but prefer track B).
Nico and George are so sweet together ❤
Thank you thank you
What? They released it already? I though it was going to take some more time. It might be a good day after all
What's you favorite side character? Mine are probably Nejo and Lady Piermont. They have the funniest personalities and great voice actors hehe.
Maybe it's because my cousin used to call me that (although because of a different person) but I always had a laugh with López 😂
Nice the game replaced the two glowing stone slabs into crystals at St. Ninians. It helped explained why there are crystals in "Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon". It also showed the part where George was nearly brainwashed by the Grand Master, just like what Khan warned about the the Sword of Baphomet having power to control will around it.
Мой самый первый и самый любимый квест, вместе со второй частью☺
Classic!!
Been a Broken Sword fan for years but is it me as i dont see much of a difference mite as well play the old ones lol
Sound quality not so good?
Did they add the extra content from iOS with nico
I got a toilet chain from Syria.
why it is still missing in steam (Spain)?
Is it any good?
The original 1996 game is for sure. Which follows in the Directors Cut version.
I guess for this 2024 Reforged.
Pros: Backgrounds looks good
Cons: Sprites doesnt quite look as lifelike as original (mostly because they rely heavily on AI i think, one thing i wish they manually changed instead of going that route)
But it is what it is.
@@shibawarrior17 The cutscenes are also a massive con. They look so wrong.
@@uros.u.novakovic I have been playing it for a while. But i thought the priest in the bar now wearing a scarf was atleast a nice touch. I am sort of a sucker for that.
But generally i will say Reforged is "Mid" so far. Compared to Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered which is excellent. I gotta say. A little underwhelmed. But... the priest with the scarf in the bar update due to his cold. Thats a nice touch atleast
@@shibawarrior17 Tomb Raider Remasters were amazing. I can not wait for them to announce more.
As for Broken Sword I am so torn. I wish I could take the audio and cutscenes from the original release of the game and put them in Reforged. That'd make me happy. I like the backgrounds and character models. But I dislike the compressed sounding audio and the new cutscenes.
I even booted up the old game through ScummVM and I swear the audio sounds better there.
And then the Switch version got delayed
the movement looks so choppy
😍👌👍👍
Why didnt they include the Directors cut scenes and extended intro with Nicole?
Think it was just a remaster of the original, not the Director's Cut.
I really love what I see, but that compressed 90s audio is awful. It's really off-putting. It literally sounds like the PS1 low quality compared audio.
That's what makes it nostalgic and perfect and stfu
@@Glanmire1990 I'd have to agree to disagree. If that's the case then why even bother with a graphical overhaul and not take the piss like LGR are with Gex. Just playing this game is awesome in all the iterations I've played, but the compressed audio is horrible. No two ways about it. You sound like your fucking ten years old.
Rushes to be the first person out to do the 4k remastered walk through... uploads the video in 2015 1080p.. fail
Hmm. I love broken sword. But that intro image over Paris looks too much like ai gen. The building on the right is wonky and has no depth! I accept that using ai is part of the toolbox now but you REFINE after the initial generation... I hope the rest is better
Does give off that blurry-edges-on-pastel Midjourney vibe but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. This may be manmade, I suppose. I don't want to believe they'd stoop as low as to use AI for the damn intro of all cinematics, but I've known Chuck Cecil to be a tad too willing to squeeze the last penny out of this game to put something like this below him, after all.
the creater recently was on a podcast with the playstation access channel (you should check it out) - i believe he confirms within that they chose not to use AI as it felt too insincere etc :)
Not AI-generated but I think they used upscaling to some extent
Won't be giving them any mkney after their cuts to the game in the name of woke.
Like... ?
Thank you thank you
