Hi there! Watching this 4 years later. Did you like introducing cursive right away? Did that cause any confusion for your son going between cursive and manuscript? I was gifted the cursive Foundations B set and will very likely buy the manuscript Foundations A manual and workbook but I don’t know if I should also get the manuscript flashcards and game cards. I hope I can get some insight!
@@JessicaTothASL I’m now on my 3rd kid going through Foundations A/B and have had no confusion with their cursive and print. I’m definitely still glad we did cursive! One note: A teaches how to write lowercase a-z and B teaches how to write uppercase A-Z - I’d recommend that whichever one you select you use for both A and B rather than cursive for one and manuscript for the other.
Commenting as I watch. We're just finishing up B but I need to get my son a bit more confident on these last phonograms. But we're taking it slow..... he 6.5. Now he's into cursive but has no interest in actually trying to write them correctly. He just scribbles. But his print is fine. You have a little one?! What does she do during school. My 3 year old and now 6 month old are making it tough! I need a better structure. You are SO organized! Loving your videos as were CC & LOE too here in TX!
Was/is your son fluent in every sound of each phonogram? As in each of the sounds for ough when he sees the flash card? I need to see what their recommendation is for mastery of these at end of B. And darn I just ordered C before I saw your affiliate link. Splitting up each each lesson is a good idea for sure. No rush right? :)
Ok last q.... when you laminate the word strip. Do you laminate entire page then cut? I've avoided laminating them because I didn't want to cut them individually.
@@juliequates9529 I am so sorry that I'm just now seeing this! Someone commented on this video tonight and that's when I saw these comments you left last year that I somehow missed! I'm guessing you don't need answers to these a year later but I'll go ahead and answer anyway in case anyone else has similar questions. Yes, I have younger ones - at the time of this video I had a 4 year old and almost 2 year old; currently that 4 year old is now 6 and finishing up Foundations B himself and I have a 3 year old and 10 month old. That toddler age is hard...they spend most of school hanging out in my lap, dumping things on the floor, playing in a sensory bin, whatever I can do to keep them occupied for a few minutes. I try to time school around baby's nap time so they're sleeping and 3+ years old they're usually happy to do some preschool activities. No, he wasn't fluent in the phonograms by the end of B. They continue reviewing them in C as they add in more and then keep reviewing all 75 that they learned in A-C all through D. So don't worry about mastery, they keep seeing them over and over. I laminate the whole page and then cut. I haven't had any problems with the edges splitting thankfully because I don't have the desire to cut it all out twice lol! Again, apologies for not seeing and answering this when you originally commented!
There are two different workbooks. The Zs you saw were in cursive and book face print. The manuscript Z is different and not used in the cursive workbook.

Looks like the workbook has both Manuscript and cursive? Looks like I saw the Z in both forms. I thought they were different workbooks. Please advise

I would never skip foundations A. I mean who actually remembered that " I " makes four sounds. I think its fundamental
