This review is outstanding! I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to explain how this curriculum works. I am very grateful 😊. I finally feel like I have the green light to move forward with this curriculum to help my son. Thank you!!
You're very welcome! I’m so glad it was helpful!
That’s really cool that there are speech helps! 😊 and clearly she’s enjoying the activities. ❤
Definitely ❤️
We LOVE foundations. So easy to use as the parent and my active kiddo has THRIVED with it. Slowing down towards the end of B and adding extra reading practice was all he needed and then he took off! We’re in Foundations C now and still loving it!
The price was scary at first but you are exactly right! It flies for resale and I am planning to use with my second as well. The quality is amazing and it clearly holds up. So so worth the money!!
This was a great flip through and review….there are so few reviews on YT. I needed this when I was deciding!! Have you seen the Game Book? We got it to play for a couple weeks between B and C and it has so many great ideas!
Thank you!! I can definitely see how things would slow down. We add in extra reading which makes the day a little longer but worth it.
I didn’t know about the Game Book! That would be awesome to have them all in one spot!
@@LifeofTillmans yes it’s really nice. They have games with the cards, reading, spelling, and many other types. They even have blank game boards. It’s really a nice addition! We only school 4 core days a week and split the lessons over two days, so I like pulling the game book out on Fridays for “fun” practice!
Great review. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve had my eye on Logic of English for awhile now. You’ve convinced me to try this curriculum with your amazingly detailed review! I’ve already joined the FB group and I can’t wait to get our Foundations A curriculum. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this review.
Yw! Go for it! We’re still going strong in Foundations C!
Thanks for sharing! My child will definitely benefit from this!
Yw! I’m glad it was helpful ❤️
Thank you for this! Now I want to buy the whole kit! Lol
🤣 You are so welcome! We absolutely LOVE IT!!
This was GREAT!
Thanks 😀
Aww, just subscribed and saw that we have so much in common. On top of having older kiddos in the same grades, i also have an upcoming 1st grader who uses LOE too! We're also a Saxon and Evan Moor Spelling family 😂
🙌🏽❤️🤣 Great minds think alike!
Logic of English says you start at either A or B. Because of how different it is from other curriculums, you need the foundation of at least B to succeed in level C and D.
Yes, that’s correct. I may not have explained it well. Also an additional thing I was referring to the age or grade at which your child starts is not set. Also, yes level C does state that it is NOT a starting point for Foundations. I can’t imagine starting there. So many foundational things would be missed. ❤️
Thank you for such a thorough flip through and review.
Is this curriculum meant to be used 5 days a week?
Also, How long more or less does 1 lesson take?
They don’t have a specified schedule as to how often you use it. It’s based on your child’s learning needs, ability, and the schedule you set. We do it daily. We are now in Foundations C and taking about 2 days per lesson. When we did an entire lesson in A or B they took about 30-45 minutes depending on the day. Setting a timer for your desired work time helps out a lot.
I have been unhappy with Level 1 TGATB. We want to make the switch to Logic of English but it's hard because she knows half of Foundations B and half of foundations C so I have no idea where to start.
What don’t you like about Level 1 TGATB? I’m doing Level K with my son and have been very hesitant on whether I’m going to change his curriculum for 1st.
@@kianab5078 idky but I really dislike the booster cards, and my daughter always complains when we have to do them too. Sometimes I just blow them off and we play a game or more tactile stuff instead of just sitting down and reading a whole list of phonics. I also don't like the whole concept of sight words.
If you’re considering LOE and she knows part of B but not all I would start there. You can always go faster through what she already knows and focus on what she doesn’t. This will help put all of the pieces together to ensure she is getting a full understanding of the LOE way. Because will may not fully use it all, I would buy it used as well. You can check marketplace on Facebook and also the LOE Facebook group. However, if you have younger children it may be worth the investment to buy new. Just some things to think about. 😀❤️
Thank you! Such a great overview and flip thru. I took the placement test on their website and it said my daughter should start on Foundations B I was wondering then, do you still use those magnet letters and the different flash cards and games in B? Would I need to get those as well? There are many different packages available and I was wondering if they are used in that level? Thank you again I’m excited to try this with my daughter, it seems to have all the components that she struggles a bit with.
We’re currently in B and yes we use the letter tiles, flash cards, and game cards weekly. I would just get those individually if there is not a bundle with just those specific items in it. 😄

In the handwriting, are they learning to write different fonts or just to read and recognize them? Thanks!
They are only learning one font style. They have the option of manuscript or cursive.
Thank you for this review! I know you said you didn’t do the handwriting portion. Did that make it harder to do spelling and writing in Foundations B? Do you just use letter tiles? We’re currently on A right now and this is my only concern moving from A to B with my 4 year old.
Yw! Correct we didn’t do the LOE handwriting however we do work out of a very basic handwriting book. When doing the lessons, I try to alternate with using the letter tiles and letting her write, IF she feels up to it. Some days she wants to do all of the writing and other days none 😅 just depends. But I would definitely get the letter tiles for spelling. We have used them quite a bit.
Thank you so much for your reply! Letting her pick is very smart. I know handwriting can be tiring for little ones. We love this program so far and I’m happy to see you’re having success with other levels!
@@JoyfulDaysAhead Yw! We really are loving it! Wish I would have had it for my older daughters.
@@LifeofTillmans “ydyw” means “yes” in welsh.
How long does each lesson take?
Each lesson can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes depending on your child’s level. We broke our up as needed.
@@LifeofTillmansThanks much!
Yw!
My daughter already knows her letter sounds and cab write about 10 of them. Is A too much backsliding,
My daughter knew those things as well, however there were still things that she needed to solidify that foundation so we started with A and moved pretty quickly through it. Here is a link for placing your child in Foundations B. They have one for each level.
