We are in the process of Renovating our 1999 Roadtrek Versatile .. we just put x-line in our fiberglass roof and it has sealed the entire area and increased it’s insulation and no more need to seal the roof to the Van.. now painting all the inside white ..more work than we thought and the outside too.. Is that new fridge the TF130 - 12 volt DC Truck Refrigerator that the roadtrek group recommends.. Just joined you - will take a look at your other videos as well.. We had a switch put in our fan to blow air in during showering or else the curtain sticks to us.. and a rain cover over the fantastic fan.. now when it is raining we can still have the fan working... Be careful about getting a bug deflector.. some people find it rusts their hoods..
Welcome! Way to go on the renovation. The fridge is a Dometic, three way. In my previous van, I had the Max Air fan which blew both ways and had 10 speeds. I'll probably upgrade to that. Thank you for sharing ideas!
Hi Dan, CONGRATULATIONS.Good for you! I really like your van,RoadTrec. I almost bought one it was a Chevy also. Yes I felt like I was in a palace.Went with a 23ft C. Her name is Lady Bug. NOPE,Dont mess with Rose. LOL !
I really like your new house Dan. Really cool things you have done to improve it. Stay safe out there Dan and you know I had to stay for the Rose joke.
Your new home is lovely, seems to be just perfect!! Dan, you are so handy, love all the little changes you have made...making it your own!! You always make me laugh at the end!! Cheers my friend and happy trails❤️✌🏼🌵
I put a receiver hitch on the front of mine and then a spare tire holder slips into the receiver. This holds the spare on the front. I have not had any problems with overheating even going up mountain grades.
Hey Man Dan if you remember I look for lakehomes all over the country anyway I been looking in Nebraska now this I did not know Mn has 11,000 lakes over 11,000 Nebraska has 12 lakes what yeah 12 crazy I had to check over and over I'm watching your video as I slowly type this TheDanVan is cool buddy Ken and Tiger Fridley Mn
nice home on wheels I have a pleasureway same as road tech. did I see a round battery guage behind the TV if yes what kind is it. those solar panels are big are they 250wat each & how did you attach to roof? how many batterys do you have.also love the rear table gotta get one of those.where are you parking your van. happy vanning.
Thanks Steve! I like the Pleasure Ways also. I got the battery gauge on Amazon. It's a cheap knock off. Yes 2 - 250 watt solar panels attached with tech screws. I have 600 amp hours of lithium batteries. I really enjoy my Lagun table. I'm a full time van nomad. Spend my winters in Quartzsite AZ and travel around the United States the rest of the year.
You did very nice improvements. I saw that three years ago you updated with the solar system and during the three years time the solar system accessories change a lot and I Just brought a Van Motorhome like yours, if you can please advice me with equipment (solar panels, batteries and inverter) should I buy I need to run the air condition, stove, refrigerator. Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks Eduardo! I got two 250 watt solar panels, a 40 amp charge controller and two 300 amp hour lithium batteries. My inverter is 3,000 watts. I had to move the batteries inside. I also disconnected the charger part of the converter. Then I plug my shore power cord into the inverter.
Thanks for your response. Were you recommend I can buy a solar system like the one you mentioned that come as a Solar kit (Cosco or Sam will be a choice?)
Thanks Scott! Yes I am not a fan of Dometic fridges. A Dometic was in there originally. I started looking around at other makes. However Dometic had one for sale for under $900. It's a three way. If this one breaks, I'll probably buy a compressor fridge from Home Depot or something and run it off an inverter.
Hi Dan. I'm in decision mode for my vehicle and have a couple questions about this one you found. It looks really sweet and newer ones are out of this world expensive. You bought a 2000, which means you must have mechanical skills (am assuming)? What mileage did it have? Do you like the MPG it gives you?'
Hi Debra, well I don't have any mechanical skills. The RoadTrek only had 76,000 miles on it when I got it. I get about 12 to 15 MPG. I'm very pleased with this rig. Hope you find a great rig.
WoW Dan, innovative you are...A man for all seasons....Do you really think the salt candle works like they say? I am a pretty up-beat guy just wanted your input on that.... PS I have a large one ..
Congratulations Your new home looks awesome, it is easy to see why everyone loves Roadtreks so much. Such a great use of space. Have you figured gas mileage?
What kind of solar panels are those that you got 250 watts per panel? What kind of inverter are you running? Asking because I need to do the same on my van.
Nice Home!
Thanks for the tour!

LOL, thanks Tony! Glad you enjoyed it 😊.
Thanks for your tour, I was waiting for you to tell us about your curtain rod up front. Now you need to do another video explaining the rods. Thanks
Hi Mae. There really isn't a curtain rod. The curtains slide on a track. I'll try to do a video to explain. Take care.

The Roadtrek is a well thought out rig!
I totally agree!
Drawer handles are a cool idea!! I love the tiny differences between RT models. Totally agree...penthouse!! 💖
Thank you! Yes lots of nice differences between RT's. Safe travels!
I put a receiver hitch on the front of mine and then a spare tire holder slips into the receiver. This holds the spare on the front. I have not had any problems with overheating even going up mountain grades.

Well when I lived in a house I had the big one and it helped. I don't think this little one does anything. It's good for ambiance though.
@@TheDanVan I think your on to something there with the salt candle
Is your induction thing still working well? Would you do it again?
YES still using the induction cooktop and I'd do it again.
How do you like it 4 years later?

What is name of your inverter & size.
Not sure of the name, however, it's 1500 watts.
What kind of solar panels are those that you got 250 watts per panel? What kind of inverter are you running? Asking because I need to do the same on my van.
I got the panels from Santan Solar in Phoenix. They have great prices and are located in Phoenix. My inverter is 1500 watts.
Why is there a seat belt in the cabinet
With some configurations you can have a seat there instead of a cabinet.
