Frank thank you for taking the time with Brent and Dillion. We are looking forward to receiving the pigeons. Im Brent's dad , we spoke on the phone once i believe when i bought the hen from you. Im excited to learn the sport and looking forward to meeting you.
It was my pleasure. So nice to see young men getting into the sport with such enthusiasm. They will do great. This sport is not difficult. Your Pigeon Friend, Frank
Thanx for the time and information very impressive give pleasure and spirit to be in the sport for my 10 year old Grandson wants to be in the sport thanx again for the confidence, race well
I got a question for the one loft races. Will it become a points system. Here is my example for you to think and see if it maybe could become the future for the one loft races. So let's say you could only enter 1 birds. You could only have max 2 birds in that one loft, the other one could be the replacement if something ever happens to them. So 10 races. Maybe 11-12 races if there was a tie and/or to finish up for the third place. So the points system I want to make for an example is when you get into that first race. If you make it into the ten percent or lets just say 1-10, all the ones who got to that place gets 5 points. 11-20 place gets 4 points. 21-30 gets 3 points and so on so on until no more points. So whoever pigeons racks more points for the races, wins. That will determine what pigeons are faster with their genetics. And will focus more on breeding quality type of racing pigeons. The races have to be 400 miles every race. The prep race could be 250 miles. It doesn't have to be 400 miles, it could be 300 miles, depends on what that one loft max miles that the one loft races wants. But the race have to be that same drop off. Now it did say 1 pigeon can only be racing for you but if the loft system want to race 2 birds then you can slightly change the point system. And for example if your two birds make it into the 10 percent. That second bird will only count as 1 point also the bird will not be counted in the percentage, the next bird behind that bird will count and get those points. So it will be as fair as possible for everyone to get some points. This is just an example only, I think there is a better points system then this if someone really thinks of one and to make it as fair as possible so everyone gets a chance. And may the best pigeons keep on winning and improving the racing genetics. This is just a thought only for the one loft races. Just wondering what the future of one loft races can become.
I'm from south africa way down south west we get 4 seasons heavy wind rain hot days but thanx for the info I like the way you said they must be natural with a strong immune system
I also have another question for one loft races. If your bird doesn't have any pedigree and your bird won, what do you actually need to show to claim prizes. I'm a bit confused can you help clarify a bit more on those Hoosier classic races, like what is activation means throughout those races, if your bird won and doesn't have a pedigree or do you make up one, can you also win something in the first race throughout all those races, just so if new flyers do race in a Hoosier race, they can prepare first and know what they need before putting a bird in a Hoosier one loft race. Make a video and talk about it.
A pedigree is not necessary to enter the pigeons. If there is an auction of the winning pigeons the pedigree is needed to receive half the auction money. If you know the parents band numbers and maybe a little info like McLaughlin bloodline it will be enough. Not all pigeons have pedigrees. You can start creating your own pedigree if the pigeons win for a couple generations you now have a pedigree on results.
I am sorry but I do not buy any minerals from Tractor Supply. Mostly buy everything from Global Pigeon because they deliver to me but all supply places have great minerals. I buy my chicken pellets from Tractor Supply and they are loaded with minerals.
Frank, sometime this breeding season, can you do a feeding video inside the loft that shows not only the feed and mineral, but also the types of feeders. As you know, it's a challenge to keep plenty of free choice feed in front of the breeders without a lot of it winding up on the floor, so I'm curious how the actual feeding process takes place, as well as the style of feeders and waterers.
Hi Kerby, I can certainly show my feeders and what I do. They do waste some feed and my feeders are over a grate so the wasted grain does not end up on the floor.
Hello Francisco, I did this on Sunday. I know you will enjoy. It was under Live on my UA-cam page. Let me know what you think? ua-cam.com/users/livehm7yVQ7kJcI?feature=share
Frank! Another great video! You can give those two my contact number. I am still in SC till this upcoming September. My Race Club Secretary in Greenville is a Lizzie Mae distributor. But I do both, Lizzie Mae and Tractor Supply feed as well. But if they live in that area or willing to make a drive there it will save on shipping for sure. He does an order every other month. But it is an awesome sport, as you know this was my first year racing and I have already made so many fancier friends.
I found a better product. They will ship to you. Only 1ml to the USA gallon. You can buy it in the description. Take a look ua-cam.com/video/YKIvcqUisjY/v-deo.html
They are just getting started for the most part. Funny thing is the father of one of the young men is now hooked on the pigeons. These two guys are breeders of micro bullies dogs.
Enjoyed the video content other than I disagree about giving compliments for Victoria Falls which I believe is not a good race . When following or entering a Olr I want to see a fair test for the pigeons vel 1000 to 1300 so am also not a fan of Hoosier classic because the course is too fast .
@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons Thanks for the reply . Pattaya is training at the moment and this year is the 7th year the 6 previous finals 2 x 1200s 2 x 1300s 2 x 1400s for 530km . In an ideal world my preference would be that in finals the birds have 8 to 9 hours on the wing .
@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons I follow the OLR results everyday on benzine live from around the world I have been a fan of Olr since the 1990s a lot of OLR USA are on win companion so I do not follow them as much . The Peach classic and the Royal cup and California classic seem to be 3 nice USA one loft races also I watched a video yesterday of what seems to be a new USA one loft race called the Black Gold Race and the pigeons looked well .
My opinion are that you are not a really onest pigeon fancier because you have pigeons in the auktion in algarve golden race but they are without pedigree.if you won I'm sure you left a pedigree..and don't delete the comment regards from sweden
Hello Dardi, This is not very nice of you. I did not know my pigeon did not have a pedigree in the auction. Algarve or the auction site did not ask for a pedigree. I will always provide a pedigree and I am proud of my pigeons. The race should let us know when the pigeon will be auctioned so we can send pedigrees. Two fanciers asked me for pedigrees in other pigeons and I provided them and asked the auction site to add my pedigrees to my pigeons. Sad if they have not been added. I do not follow that auction. The pedigree will bring more money for me. I suppose I get half of the money. I had the best results of any USA pigeons and fancier in Algarve and will always show and give pedigrees when asked.
Last week when fanciers said I had pigeons on the auction site I sent pedigrees to the auction site. I did not know I had pigeons on the site and was not notified from Algarve. This is the message I received from the auction site: Re: McLaughlin Pigeon admin@ipe-auctions.eu Frank McLaughlin Hi dear Frank pedigrees need to be send to Golden Race Algarve. they manage that, not us. As you can understand we can not waiting that participants send pedigrees to auctions, normally we do not accept pedigrees after auction start. As you can understand if all people only send pedigrees after auction start ??? impossible manage that. I check you have more pigeons in next auctions, so if you want pedigrees in auctions send them to Golden race Algarve email. Thanks IPE
