Officer Safety. The Carte Blanche that opened the door to so many civil rights violations. And when will they learn that Hipaa laws apply to health care professionals, not citizens?
Police cannot give a lawful order to take your hands out of your pocket, unless they have reasonable articulable suspicion that you have a weapon, not just because they are cowards, and the detention in hand cuffs was illegal, follow up with that, instead of the stupid security guard, the police should know better and be held to a higher standard than citizens or security guards..And certainly don't thank them for holding you captive..

Illegal detention without a crime to investigate. People being uncomfortable is not a crime so the police need to move on to an actual crime being committed someplace.
Here's an idea. Train the dispatchers to ask what crime is being reported. When the caller says, "There's a guy with a camera on the sidewalk," then ask, "Oh my! But what crime are you reporting?" If the caller can't specify the crime then there's no need to send police.

GET RID OF QUALIFIED IMMUNITY AND THESE CRIMINALS WILL QUIT PUTTING HANDS ON US.
Make the highest law of the land criminal instead of civil and that'll solve all of the problems.
in Europe not ONE police officer has qualified immunitie......
Totally agree! Without it, they'd think twice before crossing the line.
Should qualified immunity be removed to stop this abuse of power?
@@Mr5-IDRefusal I'm pretty sure you have to remove the abuser to stop abuse.
