    Zillion is a must have reel. You don’t need anything or experience to pitch a lure accurately, cast a lure far, skip it perfectly just with a simple dial of the brake. No more spool tension adjustments anymore. It is so versatile. One rod one reel fishing, this what you need.

    • @findingthetrackway4875
      @findingthetrackway4875 Рік тому +2

      That's one thing the video definitely showed, which is easier to brake adjust. The Zillion can long cast and quickly adjust the brakes for skipping. While the Bantam and Met can be a bit bothersome. Then there's the possibility of dropping the side plate which is going to happen.

    • @THEREELTEST

      The Metanium pitches better than the Zillion. Much flatter trajectory and distance with less effort

      @@findingthetrackway4875 Adjusting the Bantams is not bothersome at all. Once you have picked out how many brake arms you want to use, external dial is all you need.

    I really enjoy the casting distance videos. The comparisons are very interesting. I am an old timer and I find your casting technique different than mine. Your are able to achieve much greater casting distances than I am able to achieve. I come from the days of Garcia 5500c round bait casters. I would set the spool tension to a slow drop of the bait in free spool, then cast. I am dragging my thumb on the spool as the cast is being thrown. My thumb is constantly monitoring the backlash and fluff of the line as it exits the reel. I watch you set the magnetic brakes then cast and completely remove your thumb from the spool. I just have a hard time doing this. The results are your getting an extra 10-15 yards per cast. I need to improve my casting with these new reels.

      I'm a Big Shimano guy but I recently picked up a Daiwa Zillion and although they may not cast as far as most of my Shimano's, they're very user friendly and are great for anyone from a novice to a pro to throw without backlash. Mine only took 5 minutes to set up and I was casting a very good functional distance without problem.

    In Europe current metanium and bantam are 150 size, metanium dc - 100.
    As for line, 40lbs and 0.3mm - on the cheap and thicker side. If you need this much pounds, go for a more decent line (for example daiwa x8 grand 43lbs and 0.22mm)

    Interesting results, I have both the new JDM zillion and bantam. And I found that the zillion was much more controled and further casting with 16 lb fluorocarbon. Have not used braid on either reel yet.

    • @caseydangar4414
      @caseydangar4414 Рік тому +2

      I have the same reels as well and distance wise the bantam blows my zillion out of the water and does it with much less force in the cast. Control wise they are close when casting short distances but when you get past 50 feet or so, the zillion becomes a handful and my bantam just does it so effortlessly. The problem I have with my zillion is similar to his problem. When I try to cast with any real distance with my zillion, I'm constantly going between blow ups every other cast or going another step down on the brake setting and getting a controlled cast with considerable less distance. So I've stuck to just pitching and flipping only with my zillion and maybe some intermediate casting here and there. But the bantam is just an all around great performer. And the infinity drive for me is absolutely a difference maker. But I did not notice it until I was reeling in decent fish. When it's under heavy load, you can really tell the ease and smoothness of the infinity drive vs my 2018 bantam that does not have it.

    @GFWoodchuck Рік тому

    If they were the same price, I would've bought a Metanium over the Zillion. But the Zillion is cheaper to begin with and I found an open box (new reel) for 195. I can't pick a Metanium for 250-300 more dollars. It just wouldn't sit well. Not to mention, I don't know if I fish enough to justify a 425-500 dollar reel. I was gonna settle with a Tatula or a SLX. Probably the SLX. But for 170 off because a box was opened I had to go with the Zillion.
    Either way, this comparison makes me happy. I'm sure the reel will cast further than my Calcutta 100 92, my Abu Garcia 5600, or my really old Daiwa MA15G Magforce reels. In case anyone is wondering, I've done 99% of my fishing with my spinning reels. That said, the supposed ease of the Zillion should suit me well.

      I measured them form the cast control knob to the side plate and the difference between the two is negligable. Height is negligable as well. The outer casing of the Bantam looks thicker. The two palm very similar as well. The Bantam feels similar to the metanium 2020 and no where near as bad as the giant silver brick aka the 2021 Antares DC

    USA fishing line measurement vary from manufacturers. That said the actual break strength and stated diameter on the box/website may vary too. Most lines are stronger (actual break, without knot factor) and thicker than stated. Pretty much you got do your own tests and find what fishing line works for you, which is stupid. That braid seems thicker and more in line with 50lb braid. I personally run 50lb PowerPro Maxcuatro and it seems more like 30lb line diameter comparing vs other brands and have enough line to bomb most frogs without spooling out. This is the only line in my experience that has the stated strength, yet it's thinner than what it claims.

And on top of that a lot more people probably know of shimano, people that aren’t even really into fishing even know about shimano dude if anything shimano and Daiwa would be like direct comparison of Apple and Samsung as rivals (apple=shimano. Daiwa=Samsung) but regardless they both catch fish and both do their job really fucking well. I love both company’s equally and there are alot of Daiwa reels that are better than some shimano reels just as there is alot of shimanos better than Daiwas but I will give shimano one thing their $300-500 dollar range reels usually tend to be better in my opinion and also Diawas braking system is a lot more friendly as the mag force is more heavy on braking than the SVS infinity but the SVS infinity system is more of a free spool experience as you only tighten tension knobs to minimize side to side play both have advantages and usually the magforce allows for more consistent casting but the SVS does allow for more distance which is really good for bottom working baits when you really need that long cast but, I prefer daiwas for power fishing as I feel like mostly i almost never backlash working a square bill or chatterbait working docks or shell beds power fishing. But my point is just as you have different rods for different techniques and reels, different company’s do different techniques better than the other where the other doesn’t excel as well.
