I was there!! First ever gig, let alone festival. Awesome lineup: Fear Factory, Slayer, Soulfly, Pantera, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Entombed, Coal Chamber...amazing!
Exactly the same for me! Except I didn't bother going in for the last exam... I ran to the front to watch this set and stayed there most of the day. Met some grown ups and got stoned with them and later on I got my nose pierced with a stud gun during Sabbaths set. Brilliant day
I was there! My first festival. Got my ass kicked so hard in the first minute that I had to get out of the pit😂. Never thought I'd ever see any videos of this day. It was incredible!🤘
Man this is my favorite band ever! SOANM and Concrete were killer albums, I miss the days man. They had to do more Death Metal albums, at the other hand Demanufacture and Obsolete are diamonds, his clean vocals on those 2 albums are so crisp and beautiful, Hail FF!!!
Took my 8yo son to see Metallica for his 1st concert and FF opened for em. On a packed train full of metal heads a stranger asked if my son was going to see Metallica. He replied " NO, I'm going to see fear factory " to which the whole train gave him a cheer. I fail at most things but I reckon that's good parenting
Never thought I'd see any footage from this day. Great memories. I went with my dad, I passed out in the queue to get in (too much beer and weed at 10 in the morning), he caught me and dragged me out to the side! A good greasy burger later, and I was ready to go! Not a good start to the day but what a fuckin day it turned out to be! Thank you
Remember trying to sleep under a piece of tent after this. Then walking to the train station really early and finding a wallet full of money and a nice camera strewn among the crap on the field we camped on. Left richer than when I arrived. Good weekend with good memory's
@mark daniels : thanks for posting this ! It's really cool to hear Raymond's kit from up close ! Do you remember if he was using triggers/samples for his snare sound live, or was it juste the live snare in the FOH ?
I was there ahhh the mosh pit love it was a great year 98 nu metal love it and sabbeth wow one of the best ive been to o still go to giggs noe and im a golden oldie 53
I've seen fear factory live at least a dozen times in Florida they crushed it everytime...what hapoend to Ray Herrera after he left ff haven't heard any thing from him in years
There was a lad in the crowd with there album cover tattooed on his back 😮. Before the last act of the night they were telling people of for making fires all around the bowl 😂
@@fearfactorymark Thanks Brother! I was mediocre and just having fun! I would like to get hold of those videos as I think they captured something very special.
@@destroyerofdeath8264 you know I still remember how to play those tunes. I’d rather die than live in a world where . . . The rifle replaces the pen ! Mankind’s obliteration.
idk what happened. During the SOANM- Demanufacture days his clean live vocals were iffy, then Obsolete days, his cleans were top notch, and ever since it went to hell and getting worse.
just think of all those squeaks (false notes) burt has always have while singing and talking while in a gig, that's a symptom of his vocal chords receiving damage, I have talked with him a few times before shows and his voice was just fine, same in the soundchecks, but when already in gigs you could hear several false notes out of him. Back in the day he had a really aggressive hardcore-type of growl, I imagine if you are just a growler the damage won't be that noticeable, but he also sings clean and in there you can hear the damage, same happened to phil anselmo and stopped a little bit when the band (down) announced they were going to stop playing so many gigs to let phil's voice rest, after that he started to sing at a decent level again. And think they are getting old too. I'm glad they have decided to use overdubs for burt's clean parts live, it sucks they need such things but lets face it, he just can't sing songs like linchpin live anymore.
Awesome gig think it cost me £35 including coach. Has anyone else heard the morons saying “look at them go lad, think it’s called moshing” at the end of Self Bias Resistor?

Best gig I have ever and will ever go to. It only cost £27.50 as well. You don't get to see much for that now.

Bad sound? Nah, this is just what it sounded like when you were in the front row.

It'd be cool if they had played bite the hand that bleeds
That song didn't exist in 98
Which hadn't been written yet. You're right. that would've been really cool. Time travel shit, dude.
Nah, this was before the poop records and finding out that both Dino and Burton are drama queens
Slayer 1:40.

he sings a lot better now than he did a few years back when he was terrible
To Burton's credit, it's really tough to balance the harsh vocals with the clean vocals live. It's like going from sprinting right to ballet dancing.
