I use the 3M Aura 9205+ N95 mask, which is widely available. Even Home Depot bricks-and-mortar stores stock it. I recently visited someone who was in the hospital, and the doctor was wearing a 3M Aura.
I was just curious what precautions everyone is taking right now. What mask is your "go to"? I wear the ACI surgical N95 mask everyday at my job. I keep away from sick people and wash my hands whenever I use the washroom. Also I drink an echinacea/elderberry tea almost daily. I take a multivitamin everyday and have plenty of medicine on hand such as Dayquill and Nyquil. I have Vicks vapor rub, cough drops, and mucinex.
I didn't know Enovid is only good after 1-2 months after opening. I purchased it to use when I need to be in high risk settings and that's not too often so mine has been opened for about 3 months. Given how sparingly I need to use it, I won't go through the entire spray in 2 months. That's a bummer but glad I know now. Thanks for the info!
@@michaelbartlett4569 after researching about the spray, I felt it would give me some peace of mind to use whenever I have to be in a crowded indoor setting. It sounds like a lot of people use it on a daily basis whenever going out. I do not. I always wear my mask indoors so unless it was a super risky setting, I wasn’t using it.
Interesting video! Have you heard anything about smell/taste loss from the nasal spray? I've heard about that with another kind of nasal spray, so that does worry me. Have you pretty much been using it twice every day for quite a while without having any problems? And is that also the case for others you know who have been using it? Thanks for any thoughts you might have!
After trying many N95s I finally got a 10 pack of Blox duckbills to try. They have become my preferred mask so I bought another 150, 100 at the 25 cents a mask sale price which is apparently still available. I did also get 2 of the Enovid Nitric Oxide Nasal Sprays which came with free shipping versus the $20 for just 1. They will last me through the winter. I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on the 47.97% filtration that Lloyd Armbrust got when testing a DNA mask? The mask was sent to him by someone but appeared to be unopened. While I lean towards thinking there was something wrong with that particular mask I felt I had to stop using my 6 DNA masks which I had been using most of the time. But very happy with the Blox masks which Lloyd tested at 99.44% and provide me with a very good seal.
I don't really have any comment on that test. I know the product was tested by a 3rd party lab in which the results were excellent. But it almost doesn't matter, because it's been a long time since I recommended anything but an N95.
@@SandysDIYHealthAdvocacy Thanks Sandy, it was more curiosity than anything as I'm only wearing an N95 now. I know the DNA masks were hand sewn so either a problem with that one mask or their supplier sent them some inferior meltblown or spunbound at some point. Impossible to know for sure. I found Aaron Collins' (aka MaskNerd) tests on the Blox reassuring. He tests them while wearing them and got 94.35% filtration which improved to 98.73% using a Fix The Mask brace. So very little leakage wearing it with just the head straps.
I may be missing something, but I just got on the Blox website and it looks to me like they are still available. Someone please check behind me, thanks!
I just checked too because this is the mask I wear all the time so I perused the website looking for an announcement and couldn't find one. Their flash sale is still on at 25 cents a mask (but now there's shipping which almost doubles the price, although still cheaper overall) so I bought another 4 boxes just to make sure. I can't wear the Vflex or Gerson because I react to the straps even though I don't have sensitive skin and they are not latex. I am a teacher surrounded by sick kids every day and need an effective mask and so far the Blox mask is the winner as I have not gotten it even though my students and colleagues have had covid multiple times.
I don't think you could be allergic to nitric oxide. Our bodies actually produce some. The only caution I've read about (and it might be mostly hypothetical) is that it might be a problem at very high doses for people with severe liver disease
I believe it's for 12 and up. Here's a link to the company that makes it (original name is Sanotize, and it's sold under various brand names). sanotize.com/

Can I ask where you bought it? I'm curious about this and might buy some for my family and myself

I use it most days, not all as I stated in the video. I haven't noticed any issues

@@pieterlechner yes and remember that leakage is totally individual and depends on face shape/size and user capability

Are there any allergic reactions associated with this nasal spray? Who should not use this?
