  • 🎯 FX Impact M3 Velocity Testing: Finding Optimal Performance Across ConditionsWelcome back to Viking Airgunner! In this insightful video, I'm testing the FX Impact M3 at three different velocities to determine the optimal performance settings. This test is designed to help you understand how varying velocities can affect your shooting accuracy and consistency, especially with changing weather conditions.
    🔍 Key Highlights:
Velocity Testing: See how the FX Impact M3 performs at three distinct velocities, helping you find the sweet spot for your airgun.Environmental Factors: Learn why your airgun's performance can change with varying weather conditions such as temperature, air pressure, air density, and humidity.Practical Insights: Discover practical tips on adjusting your velocity settings to maintain peak performance regardless of shifting environmental factors.
    💡 Why Consider Velocity Changes?
Even if your FX Impact M3 shoots perfectly one day, weather changes can affect its performance. This video will help you understand and adjust for these variations, ensuring consistent accuracy.

Love this experiment. I’ve always known that weather and bullet speed can affect accuracy, but I’ve never seen anyone do this kind of experiment to demonstrate those effects. Nice job 👍

Sometimes you just do things while you shoot without noticing the actual value, and Ive been doing this for ages, so I just occoured that it would make an interesting video for people who pays attention to the details 😃

Ive heard of velocity shifts up to -/+100fps from altitude differences alone, it’s crazy how much of a difference your location and atmospheric conditions makes, especially for these small calibers. Good video.😊 & grats on having a wife who likes your hobby, mine hates every bit of it.

Didnt know that altitude could that much of a difference 😳 But it just shows that we should pay attention to this, even at much smaller changes 👍👍

Great video. It answered a lot of questions that I have been asking my self. puts it in prospective. I also think altitude has a lot to do with it too.More than we think.

Thanks for the video Peter. i used your tuning tip with the front valve to remove low starter shots on my .25 M3 25.39gr.
I checked yesterday from cold and got 905, 902,907. An improvement as I noticed some starter shots were 20fps low before. No good as a hunter. atb neil

Great video again, thank you. One thing I struggle with more than anything is I can tune my M3 perfectly, by following your video guides. However, a day later shot velocity is down and accuracy is off. Not weather related either. Any ideas?

And what ammo are you using? 🤔

The Impact suffers from o-ring stiction on the valverod due a bad design. It means it takes couple of shots before its back on speed. No blame to UA-camrs, but they all keep this quiet.
A forummember on Airgunnation has made a modified part for it, I run it in my Impact and the problem is gone.

Funny thing is that barrels can be different and setup will affect harmonics, so a velocity should always be seen as a guideline 🙂 All that matters is what works and feels good to each person 😎

Thanks for your video. I have a question after tuning the fix impact m3 and after a couple hours, the velocity goes down and goes back to normal after 10-15 shot, any idea why it happened thanks for your answer

    • @VikingAirgunner
      @VikingAirgunner  Місяць тому +1

      Good question!
I have tried this myself and I dont have an exact answer on why this happens.
What I usually do - because I know that it will return to normal - I dont try to retune the gun, but as soon as I notice this issue I increase the tension on the hammer spring by one click on the power wheel. Shoot a couple of shots untill I see a higher velocity than the gun was set for, and then I reduce the hammer spring back to where I started.
You can try this. It is the best advice I can give you.
But I would not be surprised if this issue disappears after a while where you only make minor adjustments to the gun 🙂

I got a bit freaked shooting my Two yesterday, the 13 grain Zans was shooting pretty darn well at 1020 FPS, but yeah the sweet spot is a bit lower.
later in the day as clouds and rain got near and so light dropped i changed to 50 M and even disposed of a few beast pellets i had in surplus, at 50 M the 13 gr Zans was just lasers at 972 FPS.
Much better than the KO at the same speed / setting
Mind you at 86 M they was also fine, i killed 1 fly and i am sure if flies have hair on their ass i removed those on another fly.
Also killed a few flies and a small spider at 50 M, and cut countless blades of grass
From 10 in the morning and until 7 in the evening i was one big smile,,,,,, yes when i shoot i SHOOT A LOT

@@VikingAirgunner Yes it is nice, ATM playing with the 13 grainers, next outing i will be more serious with the 16 grain Zans
13gr seem to run well from 910 to 1020 FPS. but somewhere in there is the sweet spot, and i think it is not far from the same speed my Maverick like to shoot the same ammo.
Going shed building and of course shooting again Tuesday, and will probably again spend 2-3 days at my friends place.
Have just ordered sekmet gauge for regulated pressure,,,, and HUMA regulator.
And more 2" targets as i seem to have been burned 2 times with targets now.
First on aliexpress with targets with no splatter effect, and the replacements i ordered in Finland, well i heard nothing since June 3 when i ordered.
So i might have to take the drive back to Randers if Huma and Mundilar have stuff in the mail for me Wednesday.
but i gladly do that for shooting hardware.
And of course a pitstop on the way at the Kiosk in Bjerringbro for a nice old school ice cream in a cone.
