  • This is the first flight of Larry's MIG-29. From Motion RC, it is 1/9th scale with a 50" wingspan, and is 74" long.

Thanks for the great video G. A long glide on the first attempt was "sketchy" and that corn was coming up fast. Nice to know the Mig has got the guts to pull out of a screw up QUICK :)

Nice maiden, any helpful tips would be helpful. Had mine for 2 years and have yet to maiden, can you share good mid rates and mixes? thanks.

Thanks for the comment. The rates are by the book EXCEPT my "mid rates" are book low rates and the low rates I use are 20% below book low rates. Example of my low rate for aileron is 32mm. The exception is elevator and my low rate for that is the same as the book rate of 34mm. I don't have any flap to elevator mix. That may come later since I have only had four flights on it. So far it doesn't seem to need it. She is a floater and because of the weight I have learned she has a lot of built in inertia on approach and it carries a long way down the runway. I'm learning!!! I'll mention the wing "reflex". It seems to work well. Some people have done it (others not). If you haven't already, let me suggest watching Chris Wolf's setup video. ua-cam.com/video/FO4ChtsQLuQ/v-deo.html
Finally, I personally use a lot of expo. Some may even say excessive. I'm at 40% all around. I just like the way it feels at that rate, but that's just me. Best of luck on your maiden. Big plane, but NOT scary.
