I'm from Alabama. My grandparents gave us history lessons about our family. My family was from the Horse Bend area. My great grandfather was called "Mulatto" his father was white and his mother was a Slave. My great grandmother was black and Muskegon. White people called them Creek Indian. My grandmothers mother was black and Creek. My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. My grandmother grew up in an black town called "Benson." The white people took their land and flooded it out. A place called "Kawliga" Alabama. My family was sent to Oklahoma and some stayed as slaves. They called it "The Trail of Tears."

From Georgia so I have always known about the Black Seminoles. But, there were also Black Chotaw and Creek Indians in Mississippi as well. The Cherokee tribe of North Georgia (which was known as the most fair skinned )was the only southern tribe accepting of whiite settlers and they paid the price. Also , it is very important to know that 50% of the cowboys that explored the west were black which also explains the prevalence of African dna in western populations.
With much of your sacrifice Czech the blessing of rain came where much needed!! That alone is worth ALL OF YOUR EFFORT !!! What a miracle!!!! Your Mission there was GREATER than you thought !! ❤❤✨✨✨✨✨✨

Imagine hearing that your ancestors fled slavery and now you're even somewhere else. Thank you so much my brother for your amazing work. According to our African culture, rain means blessings.
No that's false narrative brother. Look at the olmec heads. There is tons of research that proves black people were here way before the slave trade. Dr. Clay Winter
Transatlantic trade is false narrative to keep our mental health down. The olmec heads are proves that Africans or black descendants were here in the Americas. Dr. Clay Winter have lots of evidence. We have to stop narrating their his-story and find our heritage

I love this!! If you all want to know more about Seminole contributions to the abolishment of chattel slavery, research the Gullah Geechee and the Gullah wars!! Our story needs to be heard!!
@@Applecider-Poetry The Gullah GeeChees are in South Carolina and Georgis as well in the coastal areas. There is a whole island in South Carolina completely inhabited by the Gullah Geechees. They are very friendly people and speak Gullah full time, though they also speak English. There are a few tribes of Native Americans that are completely black such as the Cowharries and the Lumbees and a few more. Virginia also has them as well. When Sir Walter Raleigh came to America he found tobacco from one of these tribes and the international tobacco trade was given a massive boost. There are sketches and drawings of these Native Americans. The lost colony was absorbed by the Lumbee nation because the names of the lost colonists were adopted by them. Pembroke University should have a lot of information concerning these Native Americans. I do not know what the genetic information yields but may be a key to understanding more about them. It is quite possible they originally came from Africa long before the Pilgrims arrived and could have been on Jewish merchant ships that got lost or came here by there own long boats or something hidden from our historical view. There are various writings on rocks in the US of both phoenician and ancient Hebrew and even possibly Egyptian as the Grand Canyon may posess findings of the Egyptian culture. There are possibilities with vikings as well. Ancient foreign cultures have left their writings and graffiti in America. I could think of even an African tribesman fishing with families and friends and was caught by currents to end up in America. I think about the old Kon-Tiki experiment several centuries back that used a primitive raft to cross the Atlantic. These things open up many possibilities for knowledge and wisdom. It just takes the right mind to sort it all out. I could say so much more with rare information but I am sure these things will open out to the right person. All I can say is we must learn to love each other because every person is precious ! A friend always !
Your visit was definitely spiritual...the fact that the people were so welcoming and the rain that was absent for years...amazing...time to slow things down but time to connect in a way you had not predicted

This hits me because my Great Grandmother was born and raised in Florida and she is half Seminole. She showed me photos of her when she was young wearing the traditional clothing with her mother and she had very long hair that was braided very high into a cone shape.
Thank you for stating that your dear Great Grandma was 1/2 Seminole. Everyone else seems to imply their ancestors are completely Native which makes me wonder how they ended up as black Americans. People who have black and white ancestors don't go around stating "I'm European" and acting as though they are not also very much black.

Honestly, we rode horses and walked to Oklahoma but we also took boats across the gulf, those who weren't truamatically scared of the vast ocean as many of us were. We also rode horses and caravans to Nacamiento. When blacks migrated from the south, we drove in a similar way in car groups or small caravans or took the railroad.

Dynamic video, and more information regarding these folks than you can find anywhere. Not many folk (Black or White) know much about John Horse and Wildcat. I read a book about the trek from Fla to Oka to Mex many years ago I was 16, I am 76 now. I retired from Higher Ed where I taught Soc. Science. I incorporated what I had learned over the years about the Black-Seminole into my class, it was never part of any curriculums, per say. I suspect you know many left Mexico and came back to Texas. The famed "Negro Seminole Scots" were part of this group. I do not watch many videos like this, but right away I was captivated with your journey...it is the best I have seen and provided information that many have never heard. I would hope that some organization or group would help provide resources to make it easier for this location to be accessed...there is much history there. I am an honorary member of the Seminole tribe in Brackettville, TX. I live in Houston...thank you my man! Dr. Clennis High
@@clennishigh9666 Hello Dr. High. I am a native of Brackettville, former resident of Houston and have lots of Brackettville cousins in the Houston area. I hope you had a chance to enjoy Juneteenth in Brackett and/or Seminole Days is every 3rd weekend in September. I haven't yet as an adult. I was in Brackett in June 2023 to lay my mother to rest at the Seminole Cemetery. Would love to share some of the info that you taught about the Black Seminoles.
Hello my friend, I would love to have had you come to my classes, however, I retired some time ago and just playing my guitar and "Chilling". The Black Seminoles caught my attention years ago. I have always been captivated by the old west, particularly in the parts folk of color played. I read extensively about the "Buffalo Solders" they, have their stories as well. The one thing I found, however, is they had (have) a broader audience than the Black Seminole Scots. Pompey Factor, Adam, Payne, and several others earned Medals of honor for bravery in action. There are not many that are aware of these Valiente Black Seminoles. I went to sleep many nights in my bed in the 5th Ward of Houston reading about these heroes. Lieutenant Bullis' life was saved at one time by these men. He lived long enough after this to have a military installation (San Antonio) named after him. Often wondered why Payne, Factor, or some of the others that saved his live were not honored on this level...that is another conversation. So, I am sorry to hear about your mother, wish I could have met her. However, some of the same men I have mentioned are lying not far from her. She is in good company bless her soul. I have been to Brackettville many times, not to any of the events. I am planning to make it this September God willing. I see your picture, you are the "real Mccoy"...my friend. Pleasure to communicate with ya...maybe I will see you in Sep.

This was really awesome to watch. I live in Texas and worked with 2 Mexican girls that said their grandparents were Black. Unfortunately, I felt like they were telling me in secret as if they were ashamed. I eventually learned that Mexicans have a form of racism. Not as extreme as in the U.S. but the whiter ones with more Spaniard in them got better treatment. When it comes to "Black " history, Mexico is no different than Cuba, Columbia. Glad to have watched this journey with you! I was only aware of our people down by the Guatemala border on the Pacific coast side. I felt the warmth of those El Nacimiento folks. Read that there was also a “Southern Underground Railroad” that ran from states closer to Mexico versus enslaved folks using the Northern Underground Railroad that we're only taught about. There's a village in Northern Mexico where formerly enslaved ppl celebrate Juneteenth, observed as “Día de los Negros” and the celebration has been happening for at least 150 years. Bro! You brought the rain!! You are a good omen!!! A blessing!!! Your rain spirit is blessing the drought they've been experiencing!!!
Nice. My wife is Black Seminole from Mexico. I'm going to share this video with her so she can share it with her family. Her great-grandfather is Pompey Factor. She's going to love this video 📹
Aww man wow thank you
@Czechineffect the rain were your Ancestors letting you know their watching over you. That was very spiritual. And a way of cleansing the soul because you noticed to be humbled and not to be selfish. That was God speaking to you directly.
@eleandgigs I am also a descendant of Seminoles from Naciemento. I am most likey related to your wife just based on your reference to Pompey Factor. This history lesson into a small town called Bracketteville, TX.

For mine too & for many others as well !!
Especially after a drought. Wow thats amazing ❤
So interesting your great grandfather was called mulato. Where did that language come from at that time in Alabama?
@@ivonnear10mulatto is a French term same as creole is a French label as well , many indigenous people American Indians were very mixed ethnicities in those parts

The second Mexican President was Vicente Guerrero and he admitted that he had African linage. The first President also had those connections but it’s less talked about. 👏🏿
Correct, When they became "welcoming" , Trail of tears followed.

Facts
As someone who identifies as black indigenous and Mexican indigenous I appreciate this video so much! My black indigenous side is the tribe of the seminoles along with two others so it's interesting and captivating to see the history of my ancestors and also understand that they settled in Mexico--the country my paternal side is from. I am about a five hour drive away myself from the states, I may have to pay a visit.
There is no black indigenous. The black seminoles were freed men who were accepted by the Seminole tribe, they earned their keep and became the “black Seminoles”.

This hits me because my Great Grandmother was born and raised in Florida and she is half Seminole. She showed me photos of her when she was young wearing the traditional clothing with her mother and she had very long hair that was braided very high into a cone shape.
My granny had that long hair braided also.

@blackavenger2437 Seminoles never fled technically we fought 3 wars back to back and signed a treaty.

Slavery lasted more than 300 years in New Spain until Vicente Guerrero abolished the practice in 1829, almost 40 years before President Abraham Lincoln would do the same in the United States when he signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863.
The black Spaniards enslaved natives
America is always late to anything and still not getting it right.
America has not addressed it's past.
False, the chichimecas were a native tribe in Mexico that forced the Spaniards into a ceasefire because they kept enslaving natives
So to appease the chichimecas they banned slavery
But Not African slavery

We Black Americans Need to Promote Black Seminoles Indians it’s Apart Our Culture and History
They must cleave to us as the Tribe of Judah the 12 Tribes of The Most High God Scattered. Judah is awake now.
🤣
Do they identify as Black's? 🤔
@@GAMEOVERTBH yes other Races called them Black
Why they chose who they are they turned their back on their African heritage and chose native American Indian heritage they don't consider themselves of African descent anymore

This is a very cool journey you took to explore your family heritage with the Black Seminole people. I live in Oklahoma and also share your passion for history regarding native tribal migrations and key cultural events. John Horse was a very remarkable fellow and you have much to be proud of. Respect
The Black slaves who became Black Seminoles escaped slavery in South Carolina and went to Florida. So, their journey started in South Carolina in the late 1600s.
Facts
No they journey started in Africa
@ZeeJuque Not all of the Black people in South Carolina came on ships from Africa. A lot of them were already here in North America.

BLACK IS A COLOUR NOT PERSON/PEOPLE
@@peter-panwannabebootyscatchers next….you are odd ever been told that?
@@peter-panwannabebootyscatchers In terms of ethnicity Black is referred to a specific ethnic group that had an ethnogenesis. That specific ethnic group are Black Americans, FBA, Freedmen, DOAS, Native Black Americans, etc.
They are Mixed /Biracial, not Black

I'm so happy for you that you were able to find a little piece of your heritage to which you are entitled to experience but was unjustly denied. God is So-oo good!
I pray we all are able to grab a hold of moments like these in each of our lives that remind us of our value and raise our consciousness of our true beauty.
Was that mentioned on the trip to Nacimiento?
Dang your right I should of highlighted that on my video -we will do it next time
And I also believe they told us about the Underground Railroad leading North so we wouldn’t think of having people south of USA but it only makes since we went every direction even before slavery
Benito Juárez dijo. El respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz
I heard June 19th when he was talking to Adam but I automatically thought of Juneteenth not sure if that was the reference but I was on point it felt right like he was mentioning Juneteenth….
@ Czech. I want to say thank you 🙇 I had no clue about a lot of things until now!!
You welcome
In Hopi land the tribe elders say , rain is the biggest good luck and confirmation of being in the right time and the right place as rain is a spirit telling you, 'all is well and you're blessed !' I loved learning about a part of history I didn't know ❤ thank you so much ❤
My brother in law is from that tribe. He inhereted a house and decided to give it to a local family since he has a house in Melchor Muzquiz, Coahuila that is a town close by there. In El Nacimento you can also the Kickapoo Indian tribe. His last name is Daniels and he also has family in Arizona. It was also very safe but now there are alot of new folks from all over the world trying to enter the United States. Its only 2 hours from the border town of Piedras Negras/Eagle Pass, Texas
