What a lot of people don't consider is that in this car the DCT gear changes take place in just 60 milliseconds, when you consider that the Mk3 Megane was only ever available as a manual, the Meganes are already at a half second disadvantage per gear change, add up all those gear changes over the half lap shown here and thats a lot of time lost! If the Megane had the same gear change times as the M3 we would have seen an even tougher challenge to overtake them :)

Truly? a 1.8L megane rs can stand some time against a 120HP+ more powerful e92 M3 V8 and sports box (the sound gives it away) and a pilot who looks expert behind the wheel and with the knife between his teeth almost at the limits in curves What is this, a Renault advertising? Seems like if they had the same horsepower the bimmer would not have any chance...

great vid thats a 40k 4.0litre v8 against a 12k 2.0t megane rs. what a car the megs are. and probably doing double the mpg of the v8 while doing it.
My Megane does about 7mpg on track it's not really a concern when driving the nurburgring lol
Those Megan’s clearly embarrassed that m3. If it wasn’t for the driver in the m3 I doubt an average guy would have got passed the Megan’s !

The only reason the m3 is faster is because of the hp difference 420 vs 260 or 300-320 if the meganes are tuned.

it's a 2L ;) and thoses megs are hardly tuned with weight reduction, that's why...
