Can’t wait for the Raid Shadow Legends release on the consoles
I dunno, ads I see on websites say it's impossible for people under forty to play it. I don't know if it's illegal, medically inadvised or a concept incompatible with our reality, but I think it's a bad idea to risk it with something like a console release.

The good thing about some of these mobile to console ports is that they preserve the games in their original state before they were updated with microtransaction nightmares. Case in point: Angry Birds
The power-ups from Friends ruined the original game
Same with pvz xbox 360 edition
@@bakedpotato7154 bruh the best version of pvz is the pc version(it was the original version, every other version is a port), the only reason to play the 360 version is multiplayer
Especially Seasons.
If you played the game (around 2017-2018) before it was taken down, you have to unlock EVERY EPISODE INDIVIDUALLY using Bird Coins. WHY?
Thankfully Rovio’s CEO says they are planning to make the old games more like their 2012 counterparts once they are ready to return.
Angry Birds before it was unlisted was a shit mess of microtransactions and advertisements. They even fucked up the star system.
"After reading Oedipus Rex, I said 'I too should have a tragic ending.'"
Probably a contender for best Scott quotes.
Oedipus Rex is basically the first ever Sweet Home Alabama.
I remember back in high school there was this one kid who wouldnt shut up about Modern Combat and how its better than every call of duty ever made and would go on to brag every chance he got on how good he was at Modern Combat, he was probably the only kid in the entire school who even knew what the game was
At my school it was all the rage, all boys just had to get modern combat 2.
It wasn’t a microtransaction ridden cancer like today’s mobile games, it was simply a watered down version of modern warfare but that was good enough to have it on the go which was unheard of at the time. Plus, it had local bluetooth multiplayer which was amazing
@@Icetea-2000 local bluetooth multiplayer? dang that reminds me of the DS download play days
@@xMEDiEx Yeah in 2011 that was unheard of, to us it basically replaced any regular handheld game device. The DS was not cool or powerful enough and didn’t really have the games boys our age were interested in, the PSP was showing its age and you couldn’t get it everywhere plus nobody really cared anymore and it also doesn’t fit in your pocket etc.
But the iPod touch, it made perfect sense, you could convince your parents that it’s totally useful for normal stuff too, except really it was just the handheld game console for us back then.
Back in the early 2010s there were some legitimately amazing mobile games, shout out to galaxy on fire 2. I could talk hours about that game but in short it was insane to have that on the go. Because remember, this is important to put into context, this was the first real modern touchscreen device any of us used and our gaming experience before that mostly came from the Wii. Going to that for the morning train ride to school was on another level but I’m gonna stop my tirade now before it goes even more off the rails

I would argue that Angry Birds actually works best on the 3DS. In the mobile version, you have to pay real world money for powerups and some levels are insanely difficult without the powerups. At least on the 3DS version you pay once and you're done.
@Cassius Zedaker I play oot on it. I think it’s a better version of the n64 release, just mad at the lighting in some boss battles. Ruins the atmosphere
The old version of angry birds wasn’t as shit, but they updated it to be bad.
The version the 3DS version is based on was much older. It didn’t have power ups. What you pay for on the 3DS is all level expansions being available.

Man, Cut the Rope was so good. I think part of what makes it clunkier in 3DS is the lack of multi touch. There's even some levels where stuff should be practically cut at the same time, so 3DS users will have to channel the ancient technique of Bushido to even have a chance.

The fact that this episode doesn't immediately start with “Hey all, Scott here!” is Psychologically Disturbing.

GTA San Andreas being converted to mobile and then back to console just reminds me of Sonic Adventure being ported to the GameCube, the GC version being ported to the PC, the PC version being ported to Xbox 360, and the 360 version being ported back to PC… The fact that the game runs at all at this point is honestly impressive.
Lol if that's not worthy of a guru Larry video then I don't know what is
thinking about it, I think it's because back then updates weren't as commonly used and each time they made a port of a game, they'd also fix the bugs so they used the recent version when making a new port.
"If it's good, make it bad." Literally describes most gaming/movie companies

"Oh, my God, a new corn!?" is going to be my new go-to phrase whenever a new Fifa, COD, or NBA game comes out.
"The cracks start to show with games like this and Asphalt when you put them on an actual console."
This is also true with The Elder Scrolls: Blades. The game was released on iOS and Android first, then the Switch, and there were plans to bring it to other consoles, PC and VR as well. This was showcased and heavily promoted at the game's E3 2018 showing. Everything but the mobile/Switch versions got scrapped because the mobile version was released to middling reviews while the Switch version got torn apart by critics.
I had completely forgotten that Blades was even a thing, and I watched that E3 showing live.
@@nixel1324 I'm playing Skyrim and every time I entered the wiki I saw articles labeled as blades and I had no idea what that meant until now even when the first E3 presentation I ever watched was the one that revealed it.

Part Time UFO is definitely an exception to this video though, the console port was amazing and added so much to the original and took away nothing
Yeah that nearly discredited his entire argument, GOTY 2018/20 for sure😔🛸
There are exceptions that make the rule.
The fact that part time ufo was a mobile game was always weird. It feels like one of those nintendo eshoo games with a cheaper and simpler (like snipperclips) but it actually realesed on mobile first and it's controls don't adapt the greatest for mobile, you know you f*cked up when you iphone game uses virtual bottons for controlling the character
To be fair, he said "either they feel out of place on console or they feel out of place on mobile"
I will say for these that a lot of parents were really grateful for the console versions. There were horror stories about kids running up massive bills on their parents phones accounts (and worse with scams etc.) but the kids loved the games. You could run it on a console that was never connected to the internet. Particularly with angry birds because it was so huge, parents that felt unsure about letting their kids have unfettered access to mobile phones (understandably) but their kids felt like it was really unfair because all their friends were on it could play. The price point was predatory for that, but all the same a lot of kids got a safe compromise so they could talk to their friends about the bird game and many parents got an option that felt safer to them - their kids playing the game on a big screen in the family room where they could be monitored and without access to predatory microtransactions or scams associated with the game online elsewhere on a less monitor-able device.

Thank goodness he didn’t lose his Angry Birds game; he would’ve lost the remaining $3 of the $40 he wasted.
I love how now the GTA definitive editions on PC are literally just ports of the mobile versions, with "enhanced graphics" that arguably look worse just with higher resolution, on the same system that can just run the original.
I think Scott is moving houses and that’s why all the shelves are gone
It's happening boys!
OH BOY I CANT WAIT FOR THE HOUSE TO BURN DOWN!!
I can now further prove this theory because Scott’s newest video ( game baths) is very short so he is probably busy packing and stuff. He was also talking about how badly he wanted to move into a house in the blue dsi xl video on the Scott’s stash yt channel.
Im glad PvZ DS exists, the music, even though it uses sound fonts, actually sounds better than on the original game , not to mention download play with friends was great
Issue with the DS version is that it lacks the most features, has worse graphics (somehow) and has awful frame rate (that game was optimized by a monkey for all platforms)

I love the thought he was like, "okay Eric, im going to throw fake money at you after you hold an empty cup in the air."
And Eric was like cool lets go
I like to think that Scott's friends don't question anything anymore and just go along with it.
You have to admire his dedication... he actually purchased a pumpkin, just for a gag
I hope that same exact pumpkin becomes a rotting jackalantern in a future video
Is funny how Pyoro, in WarioWare Inc. predates all bird based mobile games, and is pretty much as deep as those. In universe is a smash hit since the first game.
Speaking of: someone made a Pyoro game for the TI-83/84 calculators and it was easily the most technically advanced game for the "system." (Ignoring modern versions with colored screens and wifi.)
It featured gray scale from the black and white screen by flashing the pixels at different rates for the shades. But, craziest of all, it featured music from the 2.5mm jack built for transferring data between calculators. While technically the same jack as old phones used for headphones, it was never intended to output audio on the calculator. And yet, they did it.
as soon as angry birds became a hit someone at nintendo must’ve yelled I TOLD YOU
And the fact that Pyoro got its own standalone game, albeit digitally, that's saying something for a game that's just a simple high score endurance and nothing more.
That fucking BIRD
@@JoshTheWoz -Nintendo, 2024
The opening 40 seconds of this video is one of the most beautifully chaotic things I've ever seen. A perfect encapsulation of Scott's surreal, off-beat style.
Makes me wish someone would make a compilation of his quicker cut away gags. You feel the flow, and he just cuts to something out of left field without a single pause
I used to be super into Angry Birds. So when I found out about Angry Birds Trilogy, I incredibly wanted it. It took me until I got it for me to realize that it was a few of the free mobile games translated into a console game.
were you still happy
@@tastyyoylecake2069 I was fine with it at the time. But I'm happier about it now considering that those games aren't on the app store anymore.
@@anamelessyoutuber1462 AYO check the rovio blog/news page
they’re bringing em BACK, and they even made a REMAKE OF THE ORIGINAL CALLED ANGRY BIRDS RELOADED (only on Apple Arcade sadly)
The ability Scott has to make anything he talks about interesting is an actual talent.
My mom actually bought the doodle jump for 3DS. It was for my sisters who each got a 3DS one Christmas. Turns out neither of them are gamers and now I own the case for doodle jump but no game. No idea what happened to it. But they also lost an animal crossing game on 3DS and Mario Kart Wii. So that sucked.
And the New Super Mario Bros. 2 game. I have the case for it as well but no game.
Mobile games on console is... a really weird concept.
you….
YOU!
Hey it’s you!
It's just AAA games at this point.
nah
You're going to introduce yourself to people like:
"Hey you, i'm You!
10:05 "Of course Doodle Jump got a game on the DSi! And a shirt at Hot Topic!" Don't forget the comic book!
The what..?
"I never do!"
It has an arcade port too
@@christiangomez2496that one's fun though.
I've also seen mobile games come to arcades as big arcade machines... my local arcade has got a doodle jump machine where you control it with this spinning sphere I played it once and it just felt so empty and lifeless even at this awesome arcade environment. I vaguely remember a cut the rope one as well and I'm sure there's something Angry Birds, that's just a weird phenomenon too.
Yeah, I've seen that Doodle Jump arcade machine too. Weirdly enough, it was right next to a Luigi's Mansion arcade machine, which I feel might have been intentional to make the Luigi's Mansion machine stand out more.
theres also arcade machine for Sonic Rush
@@Blueflag04 I saw that too one
Oh man I feel the reverse. I feel that Mobile Games lend themselves to be arcade games perfectly being these games often designed to be played in short burst to see how high a score you can get. So popping in $1 in tokens to test my Crossy Roads skills on a big screen and getting tickets at Dave and Busters for it is a rad time when just having a goof of a time with friends.
I spent More Time than I'm willing to admit on the arcade Port of fruit ninja
"I'm not mad about it, I'm just really fucking angry" I will be using this quote a LOT now.
Scott's videos help me feel better when I'm depressed or dealing with symptoms of my chronic illness. I love his humor and exuberance. I could listen to Scott explain the Ohio tax code and be entertained.
What actually is the Ohio tax code?
@@victoryisbetterthang1768 pay the government 13 percent of your corn
Same tho, good luck with your illness man, we believe in you!
Man I miss the days when if you dug between the couch cushions you could find soooo many different kinds of Pokémon games. Park? Ranger? Conquest? Mystery Dungeon? Rumble? The sky was literally the limit.
God I miss those days.
The fact that this episode doesn't immediately start with “Hey all, Scott here!” is Psychologically Disturbing.
Scott the Woz should make a Disney Infinity Episode!
No he should make a Skylanders video
Disney infinity was the fucking best!

Wish granted
Nah
9:14 Why did Scott sound like Moxxie from Helluva Boss
I can't unhear it lol
I love how dusty his Vita is. 10:46 You can tell it's just been sitting in the back of his closet waiting for it's chance to shine.

"I am not mad about it, I am just really fuc*ing angry"

20:26 "What was I going to do today? Take a bath?" Nice foreshadowing Scott.
I own lasagna world tour on ps2
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
12:20 fun fact...
nfs runs on mobile...
particularly hot pursuit(2010) actually runs great on a sgs2
I love the release of the original Angry Birds for the PSP. It's impressive that they managed to have severe framerate issues on the same console that ran MotorStorm: Arctic Edge perfectly.
IT HAD FRAMERATE ISSUES?!?
Oh my goddddd I cannot believe they fucked up that bad
