As a lady who grew up in a body shop I can really appreciate this process! If you want to get a deeper, consistent impression on the foil, use some type of heavy hand roller. Those type scrapbooking embossing folders can be ran through a Big Sizzix die cutting machine. Awesome technique!

As a retired custom painter and current head painter for a local collision center - Wear a respirator with eyewear and gloves from start to finish on everything,,, even when airbrushing... Isocyanate episodes aren't fun when your lungs say Nope, your face twitches uncontrollably, your vision is hazy & you're sick as a rabies infected dog.!!! Too many custom painters across the country that I've met in person are in poor health after the years . Be safe and lead the way for the newcomers to follow suit.

I have a dual action airbrush and touch up gun. Haven't used the touch up gun yet. It's brand new yet. Bought it when I worked at the auto body paint store. But I've been using the small brush for model car I build. Still trying to get the hang of using it. Still kinda new to that. Even tho I had them as a kid and used to draw pretty good. But been yrs and trying to get into again. Plus they came out with aftermarket parts for models and RC cars to make them look realistic. That's what I mainly practice on. Plus knowing/learning how much paint to mix, what other chemicals/additives and knowing what size needles and nozzles I can use for certain spray ends. I'm trying to work with pearls and metallics.

this is really awesome. i bet you would do some sick epoxy resin work with stuff like this. multiple layers to make that 3d stuff really stand out.

I came here from tiktok and you did not disappoint. I think this would be so bad-ass on a motorcycle tank with the tinfoil inlay on the sides, especially if it had a tear drop indentation on the sides to give it that extra depth.

    Very cool
I see your Sporty in the back. I always thought it would be cool, to have a flat white paint job, with glossy flames that have the hotter colors of green and blue on them. It'd be cool to see you that, on a tank.

I thought when he sanded it that the foil would shred or deform the pattern. Awesome skill set , super talented artist before our eyes !!

This looks like such a fun skill to learn. I have no doubt in my mind you're just making it look crazy easy. Absolutely incredible work!
EDIT: By "this" I meant specifically the line taping part at the beginning. Everything else is great but for some reason I really got into the line work setup.
