    So I ordered this product immediately when you first posted this video, received it within days and started using it immediately. I’ve only been able to use it about every 10 days due to micro-peeling - so a total of 6 times now. I can’t say I’ve seen huge improvement of wrinkles, but that’s not really an issue for me. What I’ve seen is firmer skin! This jowls you speak of? Ugh! They’ve been working their way into my life for the past 5 years (I’m 55). They are practically non-existent now. So I wanted to thank you for this video - it has been a game-changer.

    I used Trentinoin for 10 years and my skin could never get used to it no matter what I tried. I have switched to Adapalene in the past year and I'm very happy with it. I feel like I get the same results, but with much less of the harshness, peeling skin, and burning. And, it's much cheaper for those of us not able to get our insurance to cover it, which is most of us.

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Jodie, Yes the Adapalene is lots less irritating and cheaper than the tretinoin.The Acne Free brand is a much better price than the Differin brand too. Insurance typically only pays for tretinoin if it's for acne. Go figure.

    • @barbr100

    • @disclosed1
      @disclosed1 4 роки тому +4

      @@MyLoVeLyMaN How old are you? I notice that it helps with my pores, which causes skin discoloration. My skin is more taut with it as well. It will never be as good as trentinoin and if you can adjust to the trent, I encourage that. Long term; however, I do believe the adapalene helps. Remember that trent was an acne medication before it was an anti aging? Both are acne meds and both are vitamin A just a different form. :) Hop that helps.

    I was using 0.5% tretinoin since the 80s (!) although now I only use it once a week as i felt it was making my skin not look so good. I think is probably due to my age (64). So I am now using the Ordinary 2% retinoid in squalane alternated with the 5% version. I use the tretinoin once a week. My skin looks really good and nobody believes my age. I live in Europe.

    I just ordered the 5% and the mist. I’ve been using retin-a for 4 years and though it’s kept looking youngish for my 43 year old face I’m ready for more. I heard another youtuber say how clinical retinol made a bigger difference then retin-a. I also rotate my retina-a with lactic acid from the ordinary. Your beautiful without makeup so I’m definitely taking your advice!

    Your skin looks amazing as usual....❤❤ I started to use the TT 5% back in late February and like you I'm in love with the results. I use 1 sometimes 2 times a wk. I realized a few months into using this product that I hadn't even touched my prescription strength retinol and I was so happy because your correct in the end the cost of the TT will end up saving you money and with better results. So I was able to stop all other retinol/tretinoin except my Osmosis Renew I keep that for in between days because that is also an amazing product. ❤❤

      Yes! Love that Dianne. Me too I still use the Renew too. Do you know I just found out we can use Renew during the day? I never know that. It isn't sensitive to light because of how it's formulated. Leah at SBRX just told me that. She said some use it in a.m and TT retinol at night. I may try that.

    I bought the 1% after seeing this video and I have to say that I do notice a big difference in my skin. I look glowy and my face seems smooth. The gel feels so good on my face, I don’t even need to put moisturizer on after it. I just go to bed and wake up to fresh skin. Make sure to use your sun screen in the morning (and every morning). I just turned 56 and I’m blessed with good skin as a start but in the last 5-6yrs I feel like I’ve turned back the clock a bit because that’s when I started paying serious attention to my skincare starting with following Angie from Hot & Flashy- I use prescription strength retin A ; Timeless Vitamin C and I pay attention to ingredients now thanks to people like you and Lauren from Honest Beauty and Elle Leary and Penn Smith - just to name a few of my skincare heroes 🥰. I get a bit of Botox in my forehead, around my eyes and my lip lines a few times a year but mainly I attribute most of my results to skincare- I’m a bit obsessed lol.
    This product intrigues me - thank you so much for sharing! You’re lovely to listen to!

      Thank you so much for sharing that Tammy! I love hearing stories like that and I agree with you, I think skincare is the best. And nothing wrong with a little botox either but yes skincare makes the biggest difference. Because think about it, someone can skip skincare and just get fillers or botox...yet their skin can still look terrible. So skincare and especially SPF is the trick. You should have taken before and after photos. I always think of that after the fact. Haha! Hope you're having a beautiful weekend!

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  4 роки тому +4

      Hi Alexis, I sometimes use my Osmosis Renew (it's a retinal) a couple other nights but I've now managed to use this 2 nights a week. And for me, no I don't use a moisturizer over top. But you surely can. A lot of people swear by the Truth Treatment Systems Omega Balm over top, but I've personally never tried it since I have more oily skin. On nights I use this, I just oil cleanse then use a face cleanser. Then I either use a hydrating toner or hydrating essence or I use my Osmosis Stemfactor Growth Factor Serum and then I put this retinol gel on (mixed with a few sprays of the Biometric Mineral mist) Oh I do use an eye cream over this. Just not a face moisturizer. And then for the next few days after I use this, I beef up on my hydrating essences and serums so I don't get dry and peel too much. And you MUST use a daily sunscreen or this product will not work. Sunscreen is a must with retinols. I'm sure you already know that but just making sure you protect that beautiful skin. Hope that helps 💜

      That's wonderful. It's never too late. Be patient though and give your skin I'd say a solid 6 months to see real results. Start with a low dose of whatever retinol or retinoid you decide to try and work your way up. If you ever get irritation, immediately back off the product till irritation goes away. And of course always use an SPF daily, rain or shine, indoors or outdoors...That is really the trick. Who knew SPF was that magical over time. Wishing you all the best! Take before and after pics! 💜

    I’ve been using the 1% twice a week and I love it so I ordered the 5%. I used it for the first time last week, buffering it with my moisturizer, and boy did I peel! I think I’ll stick with the 1% and use the 5% maybe once a month. Amazing products though.

RA was never meant to be used long term but has a cult following. The cell absorbs and prefer retinol vs RA and dumbs most RA it tries to convert.

      Vagary I flip back and forth between the two. My mother is 73 and has been using Retin-A since her late thirties and doesn’t have any wrinkles or hyperpigmentation despite working outside in the garden a lot and sunbathing in the summers. She is also fair and blonde and her mother didn’t age as well and they didn’t have Retin a then. It does work but she did have some redness and peeling along the way. Overall her skin glowed. When I get too irritated with it I flip over to a gentler retinol or just lay off Retin a and take breaks. Maybe different strokes for different folks but I’ve been using it since my 20’s and don’t have any wrinkles despite sunbathing as well. Hmm 🤔

    I used full strength tretinoin and the complete Obagi system in my 40s before developing rosacea. Now at 52, I barely tolerate a low percentage 3 times a week. I think I’ll give the low percentage formula of this a go. Start off once or twice a week and see what happens. 😉 Your bare skin is so beautiful. How much better is the mineral mist compared to other mists such as the nod dismutase? I have the NIOD mist and the Osmosis mists and wondering if they would be OK to use w/ this gel instead of purchasing another very expensive mist. Look so forward to your videos Sheri!

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri

      Hi Juanita. For me, NOTHING has compared to the NIOD SOD mist. And I really don't think we must use the Osmosis or TT mists with their products. Honestly when I run out of them, I just use my Niod with it or even my Avene Thermal Spring Water seems to work well with it. I think it's mainly to help it spread better and for better penetration. Although the TT mist is a mineral mist and has antioxidants but it doesn't feel as hydrating as the Niod Sod mist. I really enjoy all of them and will continue to use all of them, but if I had to choose just one, then definitely Niod. Hope that helps. And hope you had a beautiful weekend!

      Hey there! I was hesitant to try this retinol for the longest time because I had always thought retin-a was always better. But since I do test products, I actually stopped the retin-a mainly to properly test this product. But then with the amazing results I've gotten from this (which isn't just a retinol. BTW...it has a TON of THD Ascorbate and the combo of these ingredients makes this so much more potent and go deeper in the skin) I haven't missed my RX retin-a one bit. Oh also you can use your retin-a still on off nights but I personally would not since I use the 5% retinol. My face would fall off. But many people do still use there retin-a and use the 1% as a treatment on the off nights. Hope that helps clarify.

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  4 роки тому +68

      No ma'am I never do sponsored videos and I never will. I even did a video about why I won't do them and I got a lot of crap from a couple other mature beauty youtubers wanting me to take that video down. Whatever I share on my channel is always stuff I actually use. I also share stuff I don't like but I share the crappy products in my empties videos. Whenever I have a discount code and an affiliate link, it is usually a referral link and I do get a small commission if you order through my links but anyone can use referral links on their websites. Sponsorships are a whole other ballgame...where the company or brand actually pays you money to share their product. Often times those companies also give you a script or a list of things you must say and then they often have to approve your video before you can upload it. I'm not interested in someone telling me what to say and especially because that doesn't seem honest to me. But I also don't do UA-cam as a job. It's just a hobby for me but one I'm passionate about. Hope that clarifies for ya. 😘

    Isn't the "firmness" of the skin to do more with underlying fat/muscles than anything applied topically? If the fat/muscle sags, the skin will sag I don't believe retin a can save that!

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  3 роки тому +7

      Great point! Retinol or retinoids build collagen to help reduce the wrinkles. It doesn't do anything to underlying fat and muscle. I definitely have enough fat in my face since the lock down so maybe that's why it's gotten so firm. Haha! 🤪

      Thank you Laurie. How kind of you! Yes many people peel but not the irritation like they get with retin-a. I don't peel when I use only once a week but every now and then if I'm not going anywhere for a couple days, I want the peel to happen so I will use it more often in the week to get a good peel in. It takes about 4 -5 days after using it for the peeling to start. So I schedule it properly. But I never get red or irritated like I did with retin-a. The skin just kinda peels off like snake skin. It's pretty cool and the skin underneath is baby fresh healthy skin. Hope that helps!😘

    There’s a dermatologist on UA-cam who says you should not use retin-a with vitamin c, that retins should be used at night, and vitamin c in the morning after using a pH balanced cleanser.

    • @GracefulBeautyWithSheri
      @GracefulBeautyWithSheri  3 роки тому

      This is already formulated properly with a different form of Vit C and retjnol. It's not the L ascorbic type of Vit C that Drs are referring to. But I do prefer using a separate C serum in the morning under my sunscreen and this at night. I also use a separate Vit C at night some nights too. But she is referring to people who are mixing stuff on their own and playing "chemist" LOL in their bathroom...then there can be a greater chance of rritation when things aren't mixed properly. When something is already formulated with a mixture of ingredients, that's fine and this form of Vit c is THD ascorbate...totally different type of Vit C than the one most Drs are referring to not to be mixed with rerinol. And if you ever do mix L ascorbic with retinol, on your own,, it's not really terrible BUT you may experience alot of irritation so it defeats the point so best to just use separately.. So yes, in general if using your serums separately...C in morning, retinol at night. Hope that helps. 😘

      Hi Mary, Yes I LOVE their Transdermal C serum too. I haven't tried their C balm but many people rave about that one too. I think the C balm is best for dry skin. And if you haven't tried their new sheet masks...they are so luxurious. My skin looked like I stepped out of a facial when I was tried them last week...super glowy and hydrated. Make sure if you try their Retinol gel, you start with the 1% if you aren't already using a higher strength retin -a and work your way up to the 5%. Unless your skin already easily tolerates retin-a. And ONLY use a pea size not more than every 10 days. I've worked up to using mine 2-3 nights a week but I don't want you to peel or get irritated. And many people continue to use their retin-a bit they use the TT retinol gel every 10 day as a treatment (not on the same night as retin-a tho). Let me know how it works for you. 💜

I wonder if the ruddiness I’ve had all my life contributes to the formation of spots since I understand that heat will make it worse because my face can get hot easily . Honestly I haven't watched one of your videos in probably 6 months and I notice a huge difference. I wonder if that would help with 60 year old skin? I don't have any wrinkles but I do have sagging at the jowls and neck. Just a few fine lines around the eyes and very even skin tone. Genetics but I still want some change without surgery. You look really really awesome

      Thank you! I know the change is from all these products because I'm still eating pizza and burgers! haha! I think the retinol gel would be great for any age, especially 60. I noticed a big difference in my jowls that were trying to form but this helps keep everything firm. You are so blessed to have even skin tone. That's my biggest struggle but it's gotten so much better. If you do try it, let me know how it goes.

    I have been using the Truth treatment 5% retinol gel twice a week and i would usually get skin peeling 2 days later. Is that a normal reaction? So far, i love how my skin feels and looks especially after i get Hydrafacial to suction all the dead skin cells and other gunk in my face. Thank you for your vlog about this product.
