As I removed the intake assembly, I broke the CCV hose. I had no idea it was a common failure so I ordered a new assembly. This fix is far cheaper and seems like an improvement over OEM. ...damn!

For noobs like me wondering how to take the pipe off.
    - Remove clamp on pipe by MAF - 7 mm
    - Take brace off by rad 4 bolts X 13 mm - Just more room to work with
    - Use a Pick and take off the electronic connections at the top of the CCV
    - There is a nut that you'll need to take off by the water pump.
    - The pipe just has a seal going to the turbo so once you take the rest off you can just pull the hole pipe off.

The 10mm bolt you need to remove is right next to the vacuum pump (not water pump). That took me some searching :) The bolt is right up top, it's very easy to access.

If this hose is bad, would it cause excess oil consumption?>

im having oil residue on the outlet pipe #2 (connects to oil cooler) part #17-22-8-509-709
im wondering if my ccv hose like you demonstrated goes bad will cause and spread oil onto that outlet pipe. no signs of oil residue on red boost nor the drip tray underneath. just on the outlet pipe.

I have a 2011 e90 320d, at low revs pulling off i have like turbo whistle sounds louder than normal? Where should i start at the pipes? No power loss, i noticed i smelt doesel when at front of the car and sometines when sat in the car if that helps? And info would be great.
    Thanks 👍

Would this be the reason my x5 diesel is burning oil. It starts and drives perfect no turbo lag. I recently purchased it and drove it home from Arizona to Minnesota, would that cause this to crack? I checked the Egr, intake, swirl flaps top turbo is clean, bottom turbo has oil. I’m also going to be deleting it and putting a new valve cover gasket on. Any help would be awesome!

What are the indications of failure other than oil leak? Would it cause poor throttle response?

Whistling noises when you push the gas pedal and burnt oil smell in cockpit were indicators for me

Can this cause a boost related fault code? I recently got a P0299 code, and after a quick visual inspection this intake hose was snapped clean in half.

I got the same code too, I wonder if this is my problem since my turbos were kinda oily like the ones in the video
