The GM "Colonnade" "A" Body (Chevrolet Malibu, Malibu Classic, Laguna (& Type S-3), El Camino, Pontiac LeMans, Grand LeMans, Grand Am, Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon, Cutlass Supreme, 4-4-2, and Buick Century, Regal, and especially these "A-Special" bodies (Chevrolet Monte Carlo is the other of the two) were GM's dominant force in mid-size cars. Ford and Chrysler had formidable competing cars, but GM ran the roost, and Grand Prix led the way, from 1973-1977. What a beautiful Pontiac you have there! 🚗! 🐰
@@rodferguson3515 Actually, if you're talking about "the best selling car" in that year (and again in '77) yes. But this car is a Grand Prix: a personal luxury coupe on a longer wheelbase than the Cutlass 2-door, which is a coupe version of a 4-door sedan. It wouldn't become a "personal luxury coupe" until after it was downsized in 1978. The Grand Prix "led the way," in that it was the first of its kind; cheaper than Riviera, Toronado or Eldorado. I had one of these back in the early 80's. Wonderful car to drive. Mine was white, black landau top, black trim, blacked out headlights and wire spoked rims with bfg while lettered tires. A real pimp mobile. I miss it.
Volo has some really outstanding vehicles.
Joe Ford
In that part of the 70’s even the vettes had low horsepower not much more than 160
When I was in 8th grade my best friend's mom had a car just like that with t-tops and she used to take us driving in it with the greatest car
I bought one brand new in 1976. I think it was around $6,000. It was maroon with a white vinyl top. It had the 400 engine with a turbo 400. Was a nice riding and quiet car. I sold it the next summer after I bought a nice 1971 Olds 442. Wish I would have keep that one.
I watched one of these catch on fire at a truck stop in the 80s. I always loved the rims on these and I have one rim 😀
Caught on fire!!! 😱😢😢 noooooo.
That a beautiful car, I owned a 76 Regal and still do
Sweet. 👍
Thanks for posting this video.

The 1976 & 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix were the largest bodystyles of the Pontiac Grand Prix & my favorite!
Actually, the 1973-'77 Pontiac Grand Prix, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme; and the Buick Regal were all built on the same GM platform (ALL were the same measurements, just respective GM divisional cosmetics)... It wasn't just the 1976 & ''77 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Actually, the 1972 Grand Prix was the largest...check it out. I love everything about the 72 Grand Prix...except those headlights.
My older sister had a silver 1970 Grand Prix with a black top. The front end was as long as a boat. We went to Orlando, Florida in it from Tennessee back in 1973. Man, that car would haul ass. Loved that car!
Magnificent automobile, topnotch
Gorgeous car!! Pontiacs were Beautiful back in the 70s
The silver makes it look like a space ship. Awesome!
My dad drove this and my mom had a 75 Buick Riviera when I was born and were the first cars I remember
The hood is bigger then the roof on the house , what a beauty.
I had a 77" grand prix that my dad gave me in 96" had a 301 cid one of the most reliable cars I've owned only problem was shocks ppl used to think it was a gangster ride cause the shocks like it had hydraulics hopping down the road lol. May have lacked horsepower but solid car
Lovely car. Looks like it was special ordered by a customer.
I had the exact car but 1977 w moon roof, fast as greased lightning! thanks for the memories!
You bet!
My boyfriend had 70 SJ, except in a bronze tan color, and I remember it had the 350 horse 400 cubic inch engine, and it was fast!
My parents had a white on white w/ a sunroof and 1/2 vinyl top with a 455 4 barrel- that car flew and road like it was floating! My Dad used to say SJ stood for Super Jalopy- ha!
😆
My dad had a 1971 Grand Prix with that cool leather wrapped tilt rally steering wheel. As a kid I noticed that most speedometers went up to about 120, but the GP's dial went up to 140 which we all know means that the car will do 140, it's possible. What a great car, it had a 400 small block and it just floated. Back then it was called a "personal luxury car" and it was, he even put in a CB radio during that whole craze. I'd love to own that car today.

@@connorpusey5912 Japanese junk I'd say that's what he's calling bs. Don't need a a computer bank to find or diagnose a problem. Suppose all computers were to go off line . And you owed s car built after 1981depending on make. What would be your solution Connor ??? Japanese house produce GTR And Supra but without computers it JUNK !!!
Love it !!!
Love it
Thats the same year i had, i bought it in 80 it had a 350cid, great car for picking up the girls
Love those GIGANTO power sunroofs from the 70's
When I was in Drivers Ed in 1976 we had several of these, man I loved it it drove awesome had 350's in them I also took Autoshop so we got to tinker with them, The only GMC's I have ever owned was a couple 68 c20 4x4s but I always wanted one of these.
American companies were making artistic pieces but they did not feel that they had genius designers that I think they have lost like them now with their high technical development, but they do not reach that wonderful time period Thanks
The 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix the the Biggest 2-Door Fullsized sport coupe, this Beautiful Car & myself were both born in 1976!
The 1976 Pontiac Grand Prix was mid sized not Full sized. The Pontiac Bonneville and Pontiac Catalina ere the full sized Pontiacs in 1976.
The '76-'77 were great years for the GP. They weren't quick, but with a 55mph national speed limit, they could get you thrown in jail. Then... came 1978.
Great looking car. Damn shame about that lame antenna and the alarm key switch on the fender.
My college roommate had this car and I can still hear his Savoy Brown 8 track, see the roach burns, and smell the Michoacán.
That is exactly like my old 76 Grand Prix. I miss that car...
Most beautiful car in my life time some day I will own one
i had the same car and color , mine was a 76 ,LJ model, had factory T tops, also had Delayed wipers which was an option back then.
I sure miss Pontiacs and Oldsmobiles. That's what I drove when I was young in my teen years.
Nice car. My Aunt had a brown one just like it when I was a kid.
Just straight clean. Love these. Had a 77 gp n 85. Probably asking 15000 grand.
I liked the 65 Gran Prix.....MOTOR TREND CAR OF THE YEAR
What if this 76 Grand Prix won Car of the Year in 2020! 🤔
Had a 77 silver/white seats rare color combo but the 305 was slow, this reminds me of 76 monte carlo,76 riviera
I had a 72 model J and my aunt had a 74 not sure whether it was. J or SJ. Mine was black inside out out. It was redone paint and so forth and it had a half material top that I had them LEAVE OFF because it was hell rusty under most of them. By the time the owner figured it out it was a disaster. My Aunts was green with the white half top and white leather inside seats with green carpet and console shift it was a beautiful car. Both were nice cars!!
This is my High School car exactly. i still have it in a garage up in Wisco...
Sweet! 😎👍
@@VoloMuseumAutoSales Yeah - but yours wouldn't take a year to get road worthy again... :)
Who has this car? I would love to buy it..
Had a 77 like that..best car I ever had
The amount of people in the comments praising old cars and dissing modern ones is nauseating. Why can’t y’all appreciate cars from every decade? Cars today absolutely have their own style and are actually the best looking they’ve been in a long while. Every decade had good cars, some maybe a little less than others, but mostly all good.
I wish Pontiac was still in business.
What a great Grand Prix. Stunning color combi👍
