Yes it is! You’ll need to use another device with the same Apple ID to authenticate the login. But then go to the “purchased” section and find apps you have already purchased and some of them can be downloaded again on the old device

my ipad 2 was on ios 6 and i installed cydia and it crashed so I a had to restore it to ios 9 to downgrade it to ios 6 but i keep getting a shsh error how do i fix it. ipad 2 2,2 3u tools 2.38
seems nice that i can now finally restore my iPhone 4S back to at least iOS6 (i'd prefer iOS5.0.1 but i digress)
i assume doing this procedure with my older iPhone 4 and its specific iOS6 ipsw file should also work the same way?
or there is another workaround to doing this for older iPhones?

I did this on both my iPhone 4s and iPad 2.
My 4s failed and this didn’t work but my iPad 2 successfully dualbooted
mine keeps saying "Flash Failed"

It seems like it won't go past "Querying for SHSH file on Apple Server" and will instead conclude with a "Flash failed!" I'm trying to downgrade an iPad 2,4 after a poor result of using it for a day after a very long time. I hope that doesn't mean this specific device firmware file server is shut down.
I had to reset mine since I had disabled it a long time ago, this came in handy

after i enter my apple id stuff it asks for two authentication code and sometimes i dont get it but sometimes i do but when i enter it it keeps asking for a new one and the cycle never ends

I don't think the ipad 2,4 works for this because the kdfwapp will not work with it

I have the right 3U tools version, and the right IPSw OTA IPAD 2.2 3U Tools sticks to 19%. The old Apple logo appears briefly on the tablet but then goes from the DFU mode to the recovery Phoenix KDFU

At first, I thought the link to download the firmware was broken, as it didn't do anything. I guess this is the reason why you said that Firefox is most reliable. But it worked after copying it and pasting in a new tab in chrome.

What are the advantages of downgrading? I have an iPad 3 and the last standing library app Kindle has just stopped working. Pandora (not for much longer?) and iMsg still work and I can download books from long dead authors in iBooks, but I need a library reader. And what does "untethered" mean in this context?
It’s just a fun way to get iOS 6 on a device that would otherwise be hard to find. Untethered means you can turn the device off and back on without problems. This won’t work for the iPad 3 unfortunately, only iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

Hey, sorry if this has been asked before: but it keeps failing to Jailbreak when I get to the "Installing Phoenix jailbreak tool" part of the jailbreak process.
Now, I'm using Windows 11, and my Apple ID is unbound, so I'm not sure if either of those would affect this.

I was attempting this on an ipad 2,4. In order for kdfu to work on the ipad 2,4 you must also install kDFUApp Bundles along with kDFUApp. However, it seems that apple is not signing 6.1.3 OTA for the ipad 2,4 so 3utools is unable to get past Querying for SHSH file on Apple Server
Here are a few suggestions for getting kDFU to work on an iPad 2,4 without 6.1.3 OTA SHSH:
- Try using another tool like iREB or Limera1n to put the device into pwned DFU mode instead of kDFU. These tools don't require any SHSH blobs.
- Look for a 6.1.3 OTA SHSH blob that someone has dumped and released publicly. You can use a tool like iFaith to stitch the SHSH into a custom IPSW that 3uTools can use.
- See if you can set the iPad's model identifier to iPad2,1 instead of iPad2,4 before trying to fetch the SHSH. The 6.1.3 OTA is still being signed for the iPad2,1 so it may work. You'll need a utility that can edit the device's model info.
- As a last resort, you can try downgrading the device to 5.1.1 or earlier using a custom IPSW and then use kDFU. The older firmwares have public SHSH blobs available.
The key is either obtaining valid SHSH blobs, or avoiding the need for them by using a different DFU mode tool or downgrading to an unsigned firmware that has public blobs. Let me know if you need any other help getting kDFU working on the iPad 2,4.

I’m not sure about that, I don’t think it will auto update but it will show you a message that you have to click “No” on to stop it from updating

This video was fantastic! Successfully downgraded my girlfriend's 13 year old iPad 2 to iOS 6. Keep in mind that if you are trying to do this from a virtual machine on a Mac and are running into issues toward the end, switch to a true Windows PC and you will be all set

I tried using 3U tools, coolbooter, jailbreak, etc... a couple years ago, but I could never get it permanently on ios 6.1.3 or 6.1.4.
Unfortunately not, you can dual-boot the iPhone 5 but as far as I know you can’t downgrade it
@@GoJot You can use n1ghtshade downgrade but every time the phone turns off you have to connect it to a mac to boot it
the iphone 5 can be downgraded to 8.4.1, from there you can dualboot and use the untethered boot tweak which uses the ios 8.4.1 iboot exploit, and that will make it boot into ios 6.1.3 automatically, and if you hold volume up at power on, it will boot into ios 8.4.1

After i entered kDFU and my screen went black i tried unplugging it but it just took me straight to iTunes saying "Your Mac has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used". Did i do something wrong?

Everything went well until I started the flashing process, I carefully downloaded the right version for me which is 2.4 but the firmware process gets stuck at ''Querying for SHSH file on Apple Server'' and fails right after that. Do you happen to know the solution for that error?
I don’t think the 2,4 is compatible with the downgrade. I think only the other three are. Make sure you are using version 2.38 for the downgrade process

@@emirdeveci999 you can downgrade to iOS 8.4.1 and use coolbooter to duel boot both iOS 6 and iOS 8. it is not possible to run only iOS 6.

Did you know you can downgrade the iPad 1st gen to iOS 4.3x? This can be done with the latest version of LegacyiOSKit. Follow everything I do in this video if you want iOS 4 on your iPad 1st gen, if you even have that device.
