I’ve never liked the design of iOS 7 and onwards it’s too cheap and lazy. I’ve always preferred Steve Job’s skeuomorphic design and having designed software before I know skeuomorphism takes more steps to complete. Steve and Scott took time to make the design look good. Jonny seemed to want it done as quickly and cheap as possible. Now we’re forced to either jailbreak which some people don’t have the equipment for or use lower quality software.

By far my favourite look and iOS version. I loved this iPhone also. I loved Touch ID, yes. But essentially the skeuomorphic design was better. If it had Touch ID, this phone with iOS 6 look would have been the most perfect iPhone ever. But I loved my white/silver iPhone 5 the most!
As someone who's deeply into Legacy Jailbreaking I'm a little disappointed in this video. Even with the surface level information available this video could've been so much bigger. So many more services can be used in 2024 and at points there was missing information unfortunately. This just doesn't represent well what's possible with iOS 6 currently.

I just found out that 2G is still available in my country and I instantly got the need for an iPhone 2G or 3G to actually use as my phone. I don’t need any of the fancy stuff on modern iPhones and the stuff I need I’d rather use it on my Mac.
Do you have 2 factor authentication enabled? If so, if you try logging in other devices will show the 2fa code. Simply login again with de 2fa code right after your password.
9:14 Even though they claimed that they pulled the plug on it in 2020, Rogers' 2G is still broadcasting. Kinda like how in the US 2G was basically just T-Mobile and that was it, and apparently they too have been kicking the can down the road on pulling the plug on 2G.
The best use case in my opinion is to use it as iPod, although iPhone 4/4s is a bit better for this in my opinion because the battery change is easier. The jailbreak helps with hiding all the junk which does not work anymore as well as not getting bothered by "no sim" alerts and stuff.
idk why, but my iPod Touch 2G on iOS 2 has a working maps app, it even does directions and displays all the different modes. Pretty cool that it still works!
While 3G has been shut down in germany too, we still have 2G for quite a while meaning it's theoretically possible to use an iPhone 5 with 2G for calling and texting and 4G for internet connectivity here.

I had been using my iPhone 4S to get away from the abomination that is the iPhone 7+ and the modern iPhones for 2 years before I got a Google Pixel. I had almost no issues using that phone daily, and I loved the entire journey till the end.

Hey, I own an iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.1.6, and I have been looking to jailbreak the device as I can’t access any of the apps, because they are locked behind my Apple ID password, and becuase the App Store is broken, I’m unable to enter my password to access the apps. These apps and the data that is within them, are extremely valuable to me, and most of them are not on the App Store anymore, and aren’t able to be reinstalled via a backup, so is there any risk of loosing that data when I jailbreak the phone? I’m very new to Jailbreaking iPhones, so sorry if I am asking something that might seem obvious.
FYI my iPhone 5 6.0.1 can still use apple id as imessage. I'm still using it as secondary phone, to receive calls, read books on kindle and take photos :D

Lol, I've been making my iPhone 4s on iOS 6 usable since 2018. Even the UA-cam app was working just fine as of last year, but I haven't touched that phone in a while. You know what I bought instead just today? A Nokia N95 from 2007, lol.
iOS 7 and after was the end of iOS, the music app being the most important part. I still use iTunes and will never stop. AND smart phones are WAY too big and I no longer use them. So much so that I now use a flip phone and sacrifice $20-30 bucks a month in mobile coupons, which overrides the cheaper monthly bill, making it cost me MORE money. But oh well. I refuse to use gargantuan phones. My tiny phone stays in my back pocket and doesn't get touched unless I have to make a call or text. My iPhone 4S with iOS 6 lasted until early 2021 or so when 3G stopped being supported. The closest size that still worked was an iPhone 6 mini and even THAT was too big. Today, for my everyday music device hen I'm out and about, I use an iOS 6 iPod daily, and I've stocked up on 4 more and plan to continue doing so. The whole OS is better, but this is mostly about the music app. How long will it take before the batteries expire and just won't charge anymore? Using WiFi and Bluetooth really drains it very quickly. And a lot of apps don't work anymore. But provided I hardly use the Internet and Bluetooth, how many years can these batteries last?

That’s the thing. This video isn’t really well researched or good. I like the channel but unfortunately it’s a common theme with iClassic. iOS 6 can currently do much more than described here and people are actively working on fixing issues with the OS. So I would actually say the OS becomes more usable every day. That could change but for now it’s fine. 2G certainly isn’t the best thing but I actually love the thought of a phone that doesn’t distract that much. For iClassic I hope he does more research and actively joins our Legacy sub and the dev servers to get all the necessary details. That way he would know for example what’s up with WeatherX.

Here in Mexico you can still use the iPhone 2G with cellular service and if you have a newer iPhone you can even use 5G networks
tfw Mexico is so much more advanced than the modern city in Germany
same here in Canada! on my carrier (Freedom Mobile), they still support as far back as 2G which fully works and as recent as 5G!!

With my AppStore fix, it wouldn’t accept my password and kept saying my Apple ID couldn’t be found or it’s incorrect.
