Pai Tee is a Nyonya snack. It has crispy shell like Taco with fillings like Pohpia/Lumpia/Spring roll. You imagine Spring roll with open top shell of Taco.
In Hong Kong everything is super expensive. A bowl of Nyonya Laksa cost HK$98 = RM53. With HK$98, you can buy 10 bowl of Laksa in Penang. I saw the menu for a glass of Teh / Kopi condense milk cost HK$30 = RM16, you can buy 8 glass of Teh / Kopi in Malaysia. For Teh Tarik in most places of KL it is still RM1.50 only.
Hong kong cost of living is like that.. so that’s why their normal people average salary is around HK dollar 20k - 30k per month.. if not.. can’t survive in Hong kong. If you are work as manager level.. then can get average salary around HK dollar 80k - 100k++ per month.
@@muhammad11ali11 actually cannot compare salary between Malaysia & Hong kong because both places are under totally different system.. Hong kong is already a developed city with the most expensive housing & cost of living in the world.. so of course their salaries also must high.. while Malaysia is still a developing country..
@@mcmltr Even when compared to Singapore, the prices is outrageous (If you eat these noodles in a Singapore restaurant, it still will not cost so much)... I suppose the likely reason is that Malaysian/Singaporean food is "exotic" in HK and it is rare to find really good ones. Other then that, the ingredient, rental and other operating cost should be similar to other types of restaurant.
Absence makes the heart grows fonder. Just like iChang and Jimmy miss Malaysian food, they truly enjoy the authentic Malaysian food they find in Hong Kong. Looking forward to your next visit back in Malaysia.
Seems like a combination of Malaysian and Singaporean style of cooking . But laksa, prawn noodles, kaya toast, coffee and tea are available in both countries. So its a tie!
Hi ichang and jimmy. Glad you two are really enjoying malaysian food. There are still many many fantastic food for you two to taste in malaysia. Please come back again to our country and try more delicious food when things have greatly improve.
Hi hi, just FYI, most of the noodle dishes sold in MY (or SG) comes with a "default" type of noodle. Example, for prawn noodle, it is usually serve using "Yellow noodle + Rice vermicelli" (or bi-hun/bee hun) if the customer did not state preference or request during ordering, which is also the most popular/common orders (yellow + vermicelli). Of course, some orders prawn noodle with "rice vermicelli only," or "yellow mee only" or just koay teow type of noodles (hor-fun). Same goes for the others noodles dishes, you can actually "match & mix" the type of noodle (if they have/allow most of the time), some even have options for thick or thin varieties of the noodle, some made with pumpkin, pandan, spinach etc.
The condensed milk at the bottom meant for you to adjust the sweetness you like. Just stir enough to the sweet taste of your liking. You dont have to stir all the way and mix all the condensed milk if you prefer less sweet. I never let kaya toast wait for me 😂 i would rather have it as appetizer or dessert meant that i'll order the toast 1st and enjoy it before ordering main course or just order after i finish the main course. To me there is a huge different of experience to let the toast just sit there on the table compared to eat it right away, once served. Anyways, enjoy every bit of your video. Thank you and keep making contents.
that looks really good. i dont know the real reçipe. but in malaysia, some local eatery blend the head and the shell without the prawn meat , to enhance flavor.
Wow, the food menu is short but short menu always mean only focusing on best quality! I have wanted to make laksa lemak but been lazy! I miss my Singapore laksa lemak. Harder to find in Johor. Towards the end I heard ‘Class 95FM’ - my country radio station! You both certainly enjoyed the food!
I make it sure to watch your videos before going to bed..the background mouth organ music will ring in my ears till next day morning.. I try your recipes which is easy to follow really...❣😍👍👍👍
very happy to see you both .. happy .. funny .. always doing something together .. I always review all your videos .. hope sucess continues .. waiting for the next video 😘 🤗 🇲🇾
I can see happiness when u guys ate the roti kaya dipped in teh tarik The price got me coughing, but seeing your reaction, I guess it's worth the money
I live overseas and I’m forced to make Malaysian food at home so what I learned is with prawn noodle you need to stir fry the prawn head and shell with a bit of neutral oil to get that smokey flavour. every time we eat prawns, I freeze the shells and head and when I have enough I make prawn noodle. Please learn to make it! It’s such a yummy dish
Any malaysian food shop in any country will be nice as long as they follow the malaysian authentic recipe. The moment they start to localise the flavour to suit the country taste then it wont be nice anymore.
Usually nice Prawn Noodle the deep taste is from Prawn Broth (boiled using Prawn Shells for hours). Smokey flavour probably from the fried onions, its very nice.
the Har mee / prawn noodles always serve with both rice noodles / bihun / bee hoon and egg/yellow noodles, once you guys have chance to visit malaysia again must try prawn noodles at Penang. =3 and the soup is made with prawn heads n prok ribs.
Adoiii...disebabkan tengok Jimmy dan ichang, aku bakar roti sapu dgn kaya....dan walaupun tgh makan nasi tapi terliur gila tengok nyonya laksa dan mi sup tu
Prawn mee known as Hokkien mee at Penang. Penang have the best prawn mee so far. Do try when you are back there. While Hokkien mee at Selangor/KL is stir fry dark soy big yellow noodle.
The prices in HK are really super expensive. I cannot imagine paying RM49 for a bowl of laksa. Even 5* hotels do not charge that much in KL. The most we would pay here for a bowl of laksa with extra of everything is RM15.
Gais..no need to compare the food price between HKD & MYR. If you go to 🇬🇧 you will still compare? Dont. if you order a meal that cost you in pounds £15, that would be RM84. So, different country, different price system. As long as the food is worth the price 🤗 Anyway, to all Malaysian be blessed and proud because you can still enjoy kita punya Malaysian food yg murah dan kaya dengan rempah ratus 😄
The laksa Nyonya that Jimmy eat was like Sarawak Laksa. Laksa Sarawak is very popular in Sarawak and its gravy also made from coconut milk .Very delicious.
Jimmy reaction describe everything. He doesn't need to comment, we would know the foods are tasty by seeing his reaction. 🤣
😂😂😂 yaaa

So glad iChang and Jimmy find some nice food and subscribers in HK. Hopefully you can reach Malaysia again soon! Then can jalan jalan cari makan!
Nyonya laksa, mostly popular in Malacca. If you come to Malaysia again someday, make sure you pay a visit in Malacca.

Kalau di chiken rice shop selalu ada jualkn, suka mkn pai tee . Sedap…
Isinya Pai tee itu sama dengan popiah ya? Hanya kulitnya berbeda
it's really delicious
@@palmtree_ yup, the pai tee' s filling is similar with popia's filling

okay that kaya toast look legit! Probably handmade pandan kaya and the amount they give! Very generous
They gave u more kaya on the toast and also the price they charge u high 😄
Very generous & very 💸💸💸

Almost rm53 for a bowl of laksa..im surely gonna appreciate my rm10 laksa sarawak much more now
Well. Waiter salary there starts around HK10K
that's why Jimmy lick the bow 😆
You can order the paste from Shopee
Glad my area still has a good laksa stall. RM5-6 is worth it.
Haha makes me appreciate my mom homecooked sarawak laksa too 😬😂
