Your huge materia theory sounds pretty solid to me. There are 3 areas that I expect similar subtle changes. 1: The escape from Junon. More emphasis is being placed on Yuffie in this retelling. On multiple occasions, beef between Scarlet & Yuffie has been established. She is also Wutian nobility, I think it’s very possible she ends up in the gas chamber instead of Tifa. I could see Tifa staying behind to help her escape (they can’t take the Tifa vs Scarlet slap fight away from her). 2: The Turks in Wutai In the OG they are on vacation in Wutai. I can’t see that with Wutai being at war with Shinra. I can see them in disguise as tourists or as a family on Vacation as cover for the mission they are on. (They could do something goofy with this, I see Rude in a curly blonde wig and pearls) Alternatively, the Turks and Don Corneo are relocated to Mideel. This seems much less likely though. The Don appeared to be heading west towards Wutai, I think they state that? Tseng might be recovering in Mideel though. 3: Attack on Midgar The part will split up in Midgar. In the OG, going to the Shinra building was optional, will definitely be compulsory this time. Probably a master control In the building to shut down the reactors and stop Hojo. Cloud, Red & Vincent have a score to settle with Hojo and will confront him directly. The others will go to the Shinra building. CID & Cait Sith know their way around. The Proud Clod will be fought here, Yuffi will settle up with Scarlet. Tifa might help with this or she may head to the slums with Barret to evacuate Marlene & Aeriths mom. Yuffi may also investigate Deep Ground whilst here if given time.
I think there's more emphasis on yuffie because she's a canon part of the story this time around (since she was skippable in OG). Shes also a great character too and adds great comedic relief with her personality compared to someone like barrets and how they interreact. ALso they seem very aware of the fan service. No way they get rid of the tifa scarlet slap fight on the cannon. Totally forgot the turks were on vacation in the og. Agreed with different circumstances it'll be different. Also wouldn't make sense for someone like Reno to go on a vacation when he was just on one. Don't think Mideel will change much at all considering how pivotal that whole scene is for Cloud and tifa too. For the Midgar raid I hope we get more emphasis leading up to the end as to just how bad Hojo is. He's technically to blame in some way shape or form to really everyone's problems and emphasizing that will make that fight even more epic. Could see deepground/Nero stuff being a part of this as well
@@TheoBeantjb I think they have been doing a nice job of showing us how much of a scum bag Hojo is, I think that trend will continue, hopefully with a nastier end for him than depicted in OG. It’s funny that by defeating the Lost Number in Nibel, we freed Ai Hojo from his duties there and set the events of Dirge of Cerberus into motion. There’s another thing that occurred to me that they may be changing: At the end of Rebith we see a shot of the two Weapons battling the Whispers in the lifestream. Beneath them in the background you can see Tifa’s House and the Rope bridge in the Lifestream representation of Tifa’s memory. It appears that it has a literal manifestation within the lifestream and that the Whispers are trying to interfere with it. I don’t expect them to remove it, but there may be something of a fake out for fans to keep us on the edge of our seats. If it has been damaged or removed, there may be another way for Cloud and Tifa view these memories: Omni-Sephiroth appears to be broadcasting his consciousness back through time via the lifestream to living versions of his mothers and his own cells. (The reason the planet rejects the Gi and Jenova, lie forms not born from it can possibly bypass its rules) Cloud, Zack and other Dream World versions of Cloud also have S cells. It seems that when Cloud dreams of the alternate worlds he is using his S cells to see through Zack’s eyes and to eventually enter another version of himself. It is therefor theoretically possible for Cloud to transmit through time and see the Nibel incident through his own eyes at that point in time so long as he is in the lifestream. If he is mind melded with Tifa, she may well re-experience it with him. Being in The lifestream seems to be essential to broadcasting through time. Even Omni Aerith requires this in order to transmit through the White Material. The game also shows us on multiple occasions that transmitting requires a “living” version of yourself or someone with shared DNA (Zack, Cloud & Seph all have S & J cells). I’ll leave the implication of this with you.
I believe Zack is back in the Beagle timeline. I want to see him return to Gongaga to see his parents and Cissnei as if to say goodbye. This can take place around the time of the Under the Highwind sequence. Mideel and the Icicle Inn will definitely be expanded as places such as Banora and Medeoheim are located near the areas respectively mentioned. As for Tseng, yes he's definitely still alive as revealed in Advent Children. I'd love to see a Vincent DLC like Yuffie got one as they were both optional characters in the OG. Sure it may delay the game a year but why not still release Re-Three in 2027 in time for the game's 30th Anniversary.
Id go crazy for a Vincent dlc but all signs point to there being no DLC (pedning changes) that are related to the story. Hopefully we get at least something for queen's blood considering how much fun it was. Didn't think about Banora being used again but makes sense. They could reuse the assets from Crisis Core Reunion too would help for developers instead of creating something from the ground up. For all the theories Zack stuff I feel like gets talked about the least. The potential he has on the plot and him being alive could lead to so many different things so I'm curious as to what happens. Would be nice to see him leave Midgar which is all we got for Rebirth.
@@TheoBeantjb I would imagine Modeoheim and Banora to be larger in scale but can still retain familiar elements though when we return to Wutai, I expect Fort Tamblin will be included and also be much more expansive than what we got in Chris Core. Additionally, the prologue to Dirge of Cerberus is likely to be re-enacted with Vincent and Yuffie as that scene took place when the Party returns to Midgar, though there's going to be some changes now that she's possibly going to take on Scarlet (and Heidegger) with their Pride and Joy monstrosity instead - though Vincent does go to discover Hojo's corpse on his own. Speaking of Heidegger, it does seem surprising to me that none of the characters actually has a personal beef with the fulla. Barret, Tifa (with what will happen in Junon) and now Yuffie will have a score to settle with Scarlet, Cid seems to have a beef with Palmer while Cloud, Nanaki and Vincent (not to mention Aerith) will have their vendetta with Hojo. Even with Sephiroth's now revealed story in The First Soldier where it looks like the devs are giving him like a Thanos character arc, I want him to find out who his mother really is and how Hojo had been manipulating him since he was young. We've now seen him have a flush back to when he (spoilers) made a hard decision in reluctantly killing the boy Rosen though he also asked for death anyway. What if during Cloud's time of healing can we see some of Cloud's flashes from the past two games in greater detail? OK, I'll just leave it at that for now... 😄
The only thing I want in part 3 is Cloud's Fusion Sword and the whole party getting their Advent Children costumes in the post game. Mainly because I doubt that part 3 would do an Advent Children DLC
I think we’ll get more AC references but doubt we’ll get cosmetics or items from it. I don’t see there being DLC unless it’s more backstory or prequel exploring something that might have been left out. Anything like that though would be an awesome surprise
