- Trying out a quick fix for the oil leak on the #Copart #BMW #X3.
Replacing the seals and oil filter with the OEM version vs. WIX replacement filter.
Will it work?

I have this leak on my X3. I had to break pretty hard today which caused a pretty good amount of oil to splash onto my engine. The air intake sucked up the smoke and blew it right into the cabin of my car through the AC. good thing i had my windows down
Wow! That's one heck of a leak if you're got a pool like that to suck up! Hopefully you can get that fixed.
Great video! Also, check the o ring that goes between the oil cooler and the oil filter housing. It always goes bad and puddles on top of the housing like on your car.
Thanks for the tip! I did replace that as well. It was dry as a bone when I sold it, and had been for weeks. Sad to see many people shy away from a 20$ part even if it does need an hour of shop time to correct the problem.
always come back and post the update video link.
Looks like that wrench is worth the investment. You can see it had much better purchase on that cap than "The Claw"
right - "The Claw" is best suited in a Jim Carrey movie, and NOT for wrangling your oil filter cap.
Is good to use stop leak oil for a BMW X3 2006 for small leak?
I would opt to find the leak before adding anything like that. It may have further negative affects beyond a leak. Something like a main seal leak might be a consideration, but something like a more readily fixable gasket, I would opt for the proper repair.
Did it fix the problem??
It did! I drove it for some time, and when I sold it, there were still no leaks from the seals!
