When I noticed that Aloy had tiny hairs on her face, I was really impressed at how detailed her character model was, and that the devs actually took the time to do that just because that's how it is irl. It's the same feeling I got when I noticed you could see the horse's balls expand and shrink depending on how warm or cold the the weather is in RDR2.
man why were you lookin at horse balls 💀💀 /lh
@@baototta There's a 3rd person camera. It's positioned behind the horse, the main way to travel is by horse, so naturally you see horse ass for a big chunk of the game, even if you're not staring directly at it I just happened to randomly notice it. Also, there's a ton of posts online about it.

The “Beard” on Aloy is called peach fuzz, and as a 3D artist I LOVE IT. It’s a good example of how insanely good game engine rendering has become
Same, I do 2D so I’m not too familiar w cgi but it’s crazy how high fidelity you can get, and seeing the jump between consoles is wild. Not that high fidelity always makes for better art, but it’s cool that you have more options + more range to communicate a design. Like when curly hair used to be really difficult to render not that long ago, now the tech has gotten so good we’ve been able to represent a wider variety of hairstyles and textures. Anyways that’s a tangent but I’m pro-peach fuzz
I’m so excited to play the new horizon game because the graphics are so beautiful! video games have really made me think about becoming a video game designer or a character artist because I think they’re art in themselves and it would be something I’d love to make

when that middle aged white woman said that abortion was worse than slavery i genuinely had to get up and take a fucking walk.
Pro-life are fucking insane. Here in México they took a girl victim of rape and put her in the middle of the city to make a public ultrasound (is it called like that? When they see the baby with x-ray?) and celebrated she was pregnant... A 12 YEARS OLD GIRL THAT WAS RAPED! They celebrated it and said god has put the person there to give her the miracle of life. Never in my life I have the feeling to commit crimes. And they didn't want her to abort even she was pleading to, she couldn't support the pregnancy sympthoms. If this story ended as I may think it did. That girl surely didn't survive the birth. the absolute irony of transphobes quoting the matrix, a movie made by two transgender women, is astounding
the entire movie is a metaphor for discovering that you're in the wrong body too lol
It’s just so fucking absurd,, I don’t know whether I want to laugh or cry at how dumb those people can be 😭
(Edit: just to clarify(because I’m paranoid of being misunderstood lol), “those people” refers to the transphobes.)
The funniest thing that has ever happened in this world is the fact that the one movie that extremely intolerant people look up to so much (think of those red pilled alpha podcasts), turned out to be made by two trans woman and is an analogy to the trans experience. It's a real life punchline, it's great.
So you cant quote a movie that was directed by a person whose view you dont like?
bro, the directors dont even write the stories..... or scripts

i am somebody who is chronically ill, i’m in a wheelchair and i cant leave my house without assistance. as a result of that i spend most of my time inside, and a lot (too much) of that time is spent on the internet, so i always get worried that i’m becoming too “chronically online” and that i’m losing touch with reality, and then i see things like this. and my worries subside. these people are both hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
Yeah, I don't think being online too much is the issue (well, it probably plays a part) but the person already has issues that leads to them spending most of their time online spitting their insane hot takes that no one IRL would take seriously.
Same. Chronic illness + pain so I can't work, plus I live in the middle of nowhere, so to compensate I spend a lot of time online or at least with UA-cam playing in the background. I always think that I might be online too much, but at least I still know the earth is round, space is real, transphobia is bigotry, slavery is infinitely worse than a private medical procedure, and autism didn't come from people being afraid of Medusa.
i really want to know how some people become like that,, maybe they're just too naive and gullible for the internet
Relating. Can't move around well with many chronic illnesses. I'm inside aside the doctor visits. So being online a lot has been both bad and good. The goodhas been the funny stuff and entertaining movies/shows. Oh and some neat chronic illness people to talk to. That helps a lot. The rest is whatever.
Chronic onlineness is less about "I spend a lot of time online" and more about
"I've spent so much time in an online space with its own rules, acceptable worldviews, and politics that I've become completely unaware of how the rest of reality functions,"
or
"I've spent so much time curating an online space that excludes any experience, argument or worldview that I cannot be validated by that I cannot actually process or engage with a large range of viewpoints, something that is a vital human experience and critical to developing social skills and personal beliefs"
So it's less about how much time you spend online and more about how you engage with the online spaces you are presented with. If you're able to look critically at how much you are online and how that could potentially distort your reality, then that's a good sign you're in the clear
8:40 I'm just saying that I say "you can come if you want" because I have anxiety and don't want to make you feel forced to say yes lmao

“chronically” actually makes a lot of sense in this context! The term chronic refers to something that has longevity and is difficult to stop. people who are chronically online are not so easily able to just stop their habits and behaviors. Prisons are chronically overcrowded, people can be chronic smokers, etc. It’s most commonly used in reference to illness but actually refers to anything that’s continuous and hard to break.
Undersea cables are chronically long
You can’t stop chronic illnesses though, as someone who is chronically ill I will never get better it’s not just “difficult” to get better lol
It's also highly likely that those who are 'Chronically online' have untreated internet addictions and other unaddressed issues.
@@crackedemerald4930 "I love eating fiber optic cables in the bottom of the ocean"
- Nobody, except sharks
I think it's a bit of both unfortunately. Chronic applies to addictions or persistent patterns of behavior and to persistent illness alike. But the two instances have another factor (the outlook / expected progression / possibility for intervention) on which they differ, making them completely different in nature and ill- 🙃 advised for comparison. I think using "extremely online" is a good solution in this case, so really there's no issue here as I see it (even if chronic is technically appropriate to describe this condition of onlineness)
As an autistic person, I can confirm I dislike eye contact because of ancestral memories from Medusa times.
Also Ty Kurtis for being normal about autism, most people freak out and treat autistic people like babies or just completely ignore autism as a subject
as someone with chronic mental illness, the term “chronically online” is absolutely fucking hilarious and we should never stop using it
yeah maybe we could focus on the actual important things like people using "psychotic" as an insult or to sound "quirky." idk maybe that's just me, someone with chronic psychosis lmao
@@skrittle555 wait you’re mad that people use psychotic the way it is intended to be used? You can have a psychosis and not be completely psychotic.
the fact that this comment is right below the comment "as someone with a chronic illness, thinking that saying "chronically online" is offensive is the most chronically online take" is absolutely hilarious to me
@@julianbell9161 lmao no. people (mostly ignorant children) say things like "oh my god you're so psychotic" as an insult. or "LOL i'm so bipolar" (when they just had two opposing thoughts). or "oh my god my OCD is so quirky" when they just cleaned their bedroom. ignorant people who don't understand that words have meaning and just say things to sound smarter. it makes them sound dumber.
@@skrittle555 or how people use "psychotic" as a synonym for sadistic, violent, etc. People then associate the word "psychotic" (even when used in a literal sense) with those things which further frames ppl w attributes that a psychiatrist would describe as "psychotic" as dangerous, which helps ppl subconciously justify the very real violence towards those people (usually in the form of psychiatric abuse).
the “abortion vs slavery” argument became a MASSIVE thing at my school and legitimately has become a banned conversation bc people got so mad
Christ ABOVE
They did not compare those two…
This may be a painfully obvious question, but as someone who hasn’t watched the whole video yet, how do you argue the two? Is it a competition of which is better? Which is worse? Which we should be able to do?
@@crazy922blade A lot of pro-lifers like to have the take that abortion is worse than slavery because at least slaves supposedly have agency over their situation. I'd say that's questionable at best. Just speaking about the history of the US alone, even if you did escape, your odds of success were slim. You were way more likely to either die or be recaptured. Even in modern times, it's still extremely hard to escape slavery because people who don't get paid obviously have little to no resources. Your life has been unwillingly placed into the hands of another person and the circumstances of your enslavement serve to keep it that way.
In terms of which is worse, I would argue that abortion is way easier to justify morally because a fetus just isnt a seperate, independent individual from its mother. On the realest of levels, whatever life they have while still in the womb is really their mothers life. Since every fetus lives rent free as part of its mothers body, every mother should always have the right to make the final decisions on what to do with that body. The reason doesn't matter, it's her body and she should be able to do what she wants with it.
Also just as an aside because this is something that really bothers me. Yeah abortions might be kinda tragic and not pleasant to think about, but it's even more tragic that there are now states where r.ape survivors who get them receive higher criminal sentences than the men who put those children inside them against their will.
holy fuck man

I have deleted every social media app of mine excluding UA-cam and Snapchat and now I only really use UA-cam. I would argue with people and get banned for my hot takes all the time. It was messing with my mental health and making me feel tense anxious and upset to the point of crying sometimes. I feel so much better now that I only use UA-cam and even that I could really use cutting down on since it’s the only thing I use I’m on there hours a day wasting time instead of doing what I have to do.
